FLAC 16/44.1 (not HiRez).

The Android App BubbleUpnP connects to Qobuz (and TIDAL), offers gapless
playback and doesn't suffer from this problem. With a bit of messing
around, it's possible to install it on an Amazon FireTV stick, and while
the user interface doesn't work very well on the FireTV stick, you can
use that as the "renderer" and control playback from an Android phone or
tablet. If you've got an HDMI input on your system, it's a good
solution, but what is this app doing differently to the Squeezebox
plugin that avoids the cut-off?

See edit above. What could this be? There is talk earlier in the thread
about Qobuz maybe killing the stream after x minutes, any confirmation
of that?

And for those who do not experience this problem, please share your
setup.

Many thanks,
Darrell

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

2018-01-02 Thread darrell

LMS version: Version: 7.7.1 - r33735 running ancient ReadyNAS, Sparc
architecture, Squeezebox Touch.

Streaming 44.1/16 Flac

I experienced a long track (Sibelius Symphony 7, from the Vanska
Minnesota disk, it's 22:07 long) cutting out after about 13 minutes, 5
or 6 times in a row.

Changed the plugin logging to "debug", but nothing in server.log after
this from the initial URL retrieval:
[18-01-03 02:25:12.9845] Plugins::Qobuz::API::_get (647)
http://www.qobuz.com/api.json/0.2/track/getFileUrl?app_id=_id=6_sig=5dfe70f3f26a4a4aecee3022c747809a_ts=1514946312_id=35152428_auth_token=

Now, I don't know if this is a coincidence, but, noting that this track
is the last one on the album and therefore was the last one on my
playlist, I decided to try adding more stuff after the track to my
playlist, so that the Sibelius track was not the last one: et voila, it
played all the way through!

I don't know if this was a coincidence, and I'll try some more tests
tomorrow, including giving it a go on an Android Squeezeplayer (Amazon
Fire TV stick), and I suppose I should be running an up to date LMS on a
decent platform (an old laptop is available for this project). But I
thought I'd report my findings just in case those familiar with the
plugin code can see a reason for this.

By the way, many thanks to all involved with developing LMS, the
Squeezebox and the Qobuz plugin, it is the only workable (i.e. gapless)
hifi-compatible solution I've found for using Qobuz. It's still ahead of
its time, even after Logitech abandoned it. The wonders of open source!

Darrell.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse problem

2012-01-07 Thread darrell

Thanks, the enhancement would be most welcome. In the meantime, I have
devised a workaround: I have copied my WORK tag to ALBUM, and use
ALBUM instead of WORK in my custom menus. Then I have created a
playlist menu and a playlist for each cd, so that I have the option to
play the entire original (multi-work) album.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse problem

2012-01-05 Thread darrell

Hi,

I've set up Custom Scan/Custom Browse for my collection of classical
music, following the example in Erland's Wiki. I'm using LMS 7.7.1.

Example:

Works by Composer
-Haydn
--Symphony No.31
--Symphony No.45

Level 1 tag COMPOSER/COMPOSERSORT
Level 2 tag WORK/WORKSORT

Using the Touch interface, sitting on the Works By Composer screen
(level 1), I can long-press Haydn (or select Haydn and press + on the
remote) and the context menu appears, allowing me to play now, add to
playlist, etc, which obviously adds both works (i.e. all 8 tracks) to
the Now Playing list.

However, after going to the level 2 Screen (List of works by Haydn, the
two symponies in this example), a long press (or remote + button) on one
of the works brings up an empty menu, so the work cannot be added to the
Now Playing list. Pressing Play on the remote control adds the work (4
tracks) to the Now Playing list and begins play immediately, but the
only way to add the work through the touch screen is to display the
list of tracks in the work by tapping the work, then adding each track
individually to the now playing list.

I don't have the problem with my SB3 - the + key works, adding the
selected work to the end of the playlist. Behaviour is also as expected
using the web interface. The problem seems to be the empty context menu
on the Touch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
