[SlimDevices: Plugins] Using BBC iPlayer with xmms on stream.mp3
This is a fairly standard setup so I'm a bit surprised that Google didn't find anything. I am trying to listen to BBC live radio on a software player (xmms) that is listening on stream.mp3. FLAC files play fine, and mp3 radio streams too, but the BBC and many other radio streams do not. All these radio streams play fine on all hardware players (Radio Squeezebox Classic). The logs don't offer much information beyond 'unable to stream RTMP to HTTP client': [11-03-23 10:37:12.5919] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::RTMP::updateOnStream (288) param ttl expired updating [11-03-23 10:37:12.5942] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::LiveText::new (34) livetext: pubsub.livetext.radio4 session: 74766260491229742 [11-03-23 10:37:12.7280] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::LiveText::gottext (145) bbc.co.uk/radio4, displaying in 0 seconds [11-03-23 10:37:12.7284] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::LiveText::update (155) bbc.co.uk/radio4, displaying now [11-03-23 10:37:12.8317] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::BBCMSParser::_updateCB (300) updating streamUrl with new data from http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/bbc_radio_fourfm [11-03-23 10:37:12.8329] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::BBCMSParser::_findStream (242) Found stream for iplayer_intl_stream_aac_rtmp_live from http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/bbc_radio_fourfm: rtmp://cp60697.live.edgefcs.net:1935?icon=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iYmMuY28udWsvaXBsYXllci9pbWcvcmFkaW8vYmJjX3JhZGlvX2ZvdXIuZ2lmlivetxt=cHVic3ViLmxpdmV0ZXh0LnJhZGlvNA==ttl=MTMwMDg3MzA0Mg==tcurl=cnRtcDovL2NwNjA2OTcubGl2ZS5lZGdlZmNzLm5ldDoxOTM1L2xpdmU/X2Zjc192aG9zdD1jcDYwNjk3LmxpdmUuZWRnZWZjcy5uZXQmYXV0aD1kYUVkMGN3YjhiamFYYlZkcmRQY1BiVWJDY2phbWFqYWJiYi1ibklCM1YtYldHLURwbkVBb0ZuT0N1SHV6RCZhaWZwPXYwMDEmc2xpc3Q9UmFkaW9fNF9JbnRANjQ0OA==url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iYmMuY28udWsvbWVkaWFzZWxlY3Rvci80L210aXMvc3RyZWFtL2JiY19yYWRpb19mb3VyZm0=app=bGl2ZT9fZmNzX3Zob3N0PWNwNjA2OTcubGl2ZS5lZGdlZmNzLm5ldCZhdXRoPWRhRWQwY3diOGJqYVhiVmRyZFBjUGJVYkNjamFtYWphYmJiLWJuSUIzVi1iV0ctRHBuRUFvRm5PQ3VIdXpEJmFpZnA9djAwMSZzbGlzdD1SYWRpb180X0ludEA2NDQ4br=MzI=subscribe=UmFkaW9fNF9JbnRANjQ0OA==swfurl=live=MQ==streamname=UmFkaW9fNF9JbnRANjQ0OD9hdXRoPWRhRWQwY3diOGJqYVhiVmRyZFBjUGJVYkNjamFtYWphYmJiLWJuSUIzVi1iV0ctRHBuRUFvRm5PQ3VIdXpEJmFpZnA9djAwMSZzbGlzdD1SYWRpb180X0ludEA2NDQ4JmFpZnA9djAwMQ==update=UGx1Z2luczo6QkJDaVBsYX llcjo6QkJDTVNQYXJzZXI=.aac [11-03-23 10:37:12.8338] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::RTMP::new (91) unable to stream RTMP to HTTP client [11-03-23 10:37:12.8340] Slim::Player::Song::open (465) Warning: stream failed to open [rtmp://cp60697.live.edgefcs.net:1935?icon=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iYmMuY28udWsvaXBsYXllci9pbWcvcmFkaW8vYmJjX3JhZGlvX2ZvdXIuZ2lmlivetxt=cHVic3ViLmxpdmV0ZXh0LnJhZGlvNA==ttl=MTMwMDg3MjkzMQ==tcurl=cnRtcDovL2NwNjA2OTcubGl2ZS5lZGdlZmNzLm5ldDoxOTM1L2xpdmU/X2Zjc192aG9zdD1jcDYwNjk3LmxpdmUuZWRnZWZjcy5uZXQmYXV0aD1kYUViWGJTYk5jTmFWZDViQmRkY2pkWGR5Ym5jeWM3YWlidy1ibklCTW8tYldHLUtvcEVKcEZuTUV1RnV6RiZhaWZwPXYwMDEmc2xpc3Q9UmFkaW9fNF9JbnRANjQ0OA==url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iYmMuY28udWsvbWVkaWFzZWxlY3Rvci80L210aXMvc3RyZWFtL2JiY19yYWRpb19mb3VyZm0=app=bGl2ZT9fZmNzX3Zob3N0PWNwNjA2OTcubGl2ZS5lZGdlZmNzLm5ldCZhdXRoPWRhRWJYYlNiTmNOYVZkNWJCZGRjamRYZHlibmN5YzdhaWJ3LWJuSUJNby1iV0ctS29wRUpwRm5NRXVGdXpGJmFpZnA9djAwMSZzbGlzdD1SYWRpb180X0ludEA2NDQ4br=MzI=subscribe=UmFkaW9fNF9JbnRANjQ0OA==swfurl=live=MQ==streamname=UmFkaW9fNF9JbnRANjQ0OD9hdXRoPWRhRWJYYlNiTmNOYVZkNWJCZGRjamRYZHlibmN5YzdhaWJ3LWJuSUJNby1iV0ctS29wRUpwRm5NRXVGdXpGJmFpZnA9djAwMSZzbGlzdD1SYWRpb180X0ludEA2NDQ4JmFpZnA9djAwMQ==update=UGx1Z2luczo6QkJDaVBsY Xllcjo6QkJDTVNQYXJzZXI=.aac]. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing
Thanks as ever for the reply. It could have been a permission problem but I also tried as root and then didn't try more. As the pc was a new install I gave up and put Ubuntu on it, and that worked out of the box. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Strange behaviour of Radiotime on SBS 7.5
Still no breakthrough but I've noticed that many of the plugins are broken (Deezer, Napster, RadioTime, podcast player and more), and the ones I've disabled (like Amazon CD store, Queen) are still in the server's list. I haven't found the files that create these plugins yet, and have fiddled about with the 'app gallery' which hasn't changed much. So after un-installing the server, and everything Squeezecenter/Squeezebox Server I could find and reinstalling SBS 7.5 RadioTime now works through the Squeezebox interface, ie. it plays radio stations, but still nothing through the web GUI. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Great plugin, many thanks for your work. I'm having trouble displaying the high - low forecast temperature. The station is Munich GMXX0087 on weather.com and the %Z on the top line of the three line display just shows 'Low 6C'. Scrolling up/down sometimes shows the high but I don't follow the logic. The best display would be simple '6C - 12C', is this possible? I've done some fiddling but no luck so far. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Strange behaviour of Radiotime on SBS 7.5
Something strange - on a server running openSUSE 11.1 I have installed Squeezebox Server 7.5 and everything seems to be working fine except Radiotime. I have an account which has worked flawlessly for months under 7.4.1 on a different server. On 7.5 when I try to select the Radiotime menu option it goes back to showing me Albums. This also happens with classical.com and other plugins that aren't properly configured. I've tried to figure out what's wrong but am obviously missing something. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
As many others have said, many thanks for an excellent plugin, really very very good. Can you imagine that while it was not working we actually had to rely on a mercury thermometer hanging outside the window! One small point I've noticed that in version 5.8.12 the 'Feels like temperature in degrees C, aka the option %F, isn't working for Munich GMXX0087. It always says it feels like -17C yet it's well above freezing at the moment. Also the update of weather data appears not to be working, updates only happen when I restart the server. Will follow this and see if after now the second reboot the updates happen automatically or if something is actually wrong. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Guidance for new plugin developers?
Which development environment provides the best debug/step capabilities for Perl applications? Does single stepping work with SqueezeCenter plugins, or is it mainly writing debug to logs? I've done a bit of Perl programming, well hacked together a few basic scripts, before on Windows machines at work, know my way around the basics of openSUSE Linux 11.1, and now need to dive into SqueezeCenter plugins. My idea is to modify/extend the Server Power Control plugin from Gordon Harris with new menu items so it can control the power to any given server. The reason for this is I have an always on laptop that runs the SqueezeCenter and a much bigger, very power hungry, PC with a big RAID array that hosts the music. As we mostly listen to Internet radio the big computer does not need to be on, but it would be handy to be able to wake it up and shut it down from the SqueezeBoxes. Any further tips, of course, very welcome. Thanks in advance. -- hellesangel hellesangel's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5658 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31724 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
First, many thanks to all who created this plugin, it is just what I've been looking for and it works a treat. However... Since installing this plugin two players that have been synchronised for months are no longer synchronised after each server restart. One is a Squeezebox 3, the other a Softsqueeze that is running without a display and this Softsqueeze should just play whatever the Squeezebox is playing. Every time the server restarts the settings page for the players in Squeezecenter shows the players are synchronised, however the Softsqueeze does not play when the Squeezebox is playing and the Squeezebox no longer displays the 'Waiting for sync...' message when play starts. Resetting the synchronisation from either the web interface or Squeezebox remote repairs the problem but the setting is not retained after a server restart. As far as I can remember the only change I've made to my Squeezecenter setup was installing this plugin, can it have a side effect like this? Sorry, I must be doing something dim while trying to install this for Linux (Suse 10.0, Slimserver 6.5.1). The files (install.xml, plugin.pm, strings.txt) are now in the /usr/local/slimserver/Plugins/PowerCtrl directory but the server doesn't show the plugin. I can't find the /usr/local/slimserver/Cache/plugin-data.yaml file to delete, whether this affects the server's rescanning of the Plugins directory or not I'm not sure. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: A big thanks to the AlienBBC team
I listen every day to the Today programme on Radio 4 and AlienBBC works a treat. The only problem is if the stream is interrupted (and I'm in India at the moment and this happens all too often) in the 3 hour 'listen again' stream it starts again from the beginning. Agreed that the volume of the BBC output can be bewildering, but check out the BBC site first, as suggested, and this will give you some idea of the programmes. For politics and news the Today Programme is great - senior (British) politicians getting a good grilling and a slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the day's events. 'Today in Parliament' is also good for this, as is PM. 'The Now Show' is sometimes hilarious (although you'd need to know who the politicians they lampoon are). You mentioned AlienBBC can be used to access the NPR shows? It would be great to get access to the Talk of The Nation archive - is this possible? -- hellesangel hellesangel's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5658 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23921 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
