I've been having the same issue. I prefer to use the Spotify app on my
Android phone rather than Spotty via Squeezer, as the Spotify app is
much easier to navigate and search from.

Music will play for several tracks but then it just stops. It's the same
when using Spotify Connect from my laptop.

I too have experienced this issue.

Hi Michael, how do I ensure I receive the update? Thank you

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty really slow...

2019-03-12 Thread piguy

Success!

My test results...

1. When pCP is already selected as a device in the Android Spotify app:

- A random track starts playing after 4 seconds
- Skipping tracks also takes 4 seconds

2. When a track is playing through my phone's speakers and I switch to
pCP in the Spotify app:

- Track continues playing after 9 seconds

Thank you for your patience and support, Michael. Spotty is excellent
now! :D

Cheers

Apologies - the exact binary is "spotty-hf (v0.13.0)"

Cheers

Hi Michael,

The Spotty Helper Application is set to "Select Automatically
(default)"

I would be willing to copy a new helper, and I believe I would be
capable! :)

The SD Card is Class 10

Cheers

Many thanks for your continued support, Michael

I'm not sure I can offer any more insights for you, other than to say
there is -always- a lengthy delay (as described in my first post) when
starting or skipping tracks via the Spotify Android app. The delay
becomes a few seconds less when playing tracks directly via LMS.

I suppose the LMS cache lives on the SD card (?), as I haven't changed
the default cache settings or set up a connection to my Synology NAS
yet.

The card is the default one that came shipped with the rpi 3B+ from
IQAudio (SanDisk 16GB) -
http://iqaudio.co.uk/raspberry-pi/65-sd-card-16gb.html

Cheers

Thanks Michael

Skipping tracks in LMS seems 5 seconds faster than via the Spotify
Android app (10 secs instead of 15)

I just uploaded the log for you

Cheers

Hi slartibartfast,

It takes about 30 seconds for a track to start playing when played via
the Spotify app on Android. This is roughly the same whether played
through wired gigabit or wireless (I've tested both 2.4 and 5GHz).

If I skip a track via the app, it takes 12-15 seconds to start playing.
Pausing a track is almost instant.

Cheers

Thanks Michael, I understand

Can you speculate as to what might be the cause of the potential network
issue? I'm willing to try things to get it working properly

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty really slow...

2019-03-02 Thread piguy

Hi all,

I'm currently running a rpi 3B+ with pCP 4.1.0, LMS 7.9.2 and Spotty
2.7.4 - but it is painfully slow when playing Spotify via Android app
(Spotify Connect)

I'm experiencing the same issues as detailed in this thread:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108789-Spotty-on-Rpi3-Very-slow

My rpi is wired gigabit to the router

Has anyone got a solution? It seems I'm not the only one struggling

Cheers
