About the navigation menu on the left hand side: The icon for CONDUCTOR
changes size when I tap on it. On opening the app, the size is normal,
when I tap on it, it gets much smaller and it stays small after that
until I restart the app. It is the only icon that behaves in this
manner.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Oh, whether it gets implemented directly in iPeng or as an extra
application is not so important, I think. Is there any chance that you
might get around to offering something like it?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2016-01-04 Thread vanye

Hi Pippin,

The more I use the new album-browsing possibilities (by artists, by
year) the more I like them. Do you think it might be possible to have a
functionality as a part of iPeng that allows to choose the tags you want
scanned, the tag by which to browse and the tag by which to order the
browsed tag?

I imagine (please forgive my imagination running wild here) you could
have a page under "settings" where you display all the tags you have
scanned with a possibility to add tags you want scanned. Additionally
you could have two lists ("tags displayed in navigation" and "browsed
by") plus a possibility to add items by drag and drop from the tags
list.

For example, I would like to browse classical music not by album, but by
works. And I would like to order them not by year, but by original year,
composer, conductor or ensemble.

Yes, I know, this is exactly what Erlands plugins aim to achieve (and I
do own a lifetime licence for them). However, these only work well if
you just use what already exists. To create you own menus, you have to
have far better computer skills than I do.

So, if you could offer something like this in iPeng with the outstanding
usability that iPeng offers throughout, that would be great. And of
course I for one would be willing to pay for it, of course.

The notes for the latest update said the iPeng now offered a menu type
albums by decade. I cannot find the new menu. Or is it just the old
decades menu, where you have to select a decade first?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2015-07-03 Thread vanye

Alright, had some time now to play around with playlists. Everything
works as advertised. Even better, as I have often read that the LMS does
not like long playlists. Seems that my barebone brings enough power to
the table to offset tais particular disadvantage. I have a
monster-playlist of almost 2.000 songs and it plays just fine - I can
even have it shuffled.

So, thanks again, pippin, for pointing me in the right direction. And
for what it's worth, today I replaced the last Sonos ZP with a RaspBerry
running PiCore. iPeng played a major role in making me swap systems.
Thank you for this brilliant software!

Where do I find imported playlists in iPeng? The menu item playlists
only lists playlists created with iPeng.

I can find the playlists via folder navigation, however, they show
empty. Playlists are .m3u. Paths are relative.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2014-09-13 Thread vanye

I have a tagging-related problem and not quite sure what it is I am
doing wrong. Maybe you can help me ...

For artists, I use multiple tagging. An example that works, is Led
Zeppelin. I tag *album artist* as -Led Zeppelin- and *artist *as -Robert
Plant\\Jimmy Page\\John Paul Jones\\John Bonham-. The result in MP3
Tag:

16369

iPeng shows all these artists per track and in the artist list, I find
entries for all the above artists/album artists with all the albums they
performed on.

However, when I tried to do the same with my Queen albums yesterday, it
did not work. For example their third best-of album: I tagged *album
artist* as -Queen -and *artist *as -Freddy Mercury\\Brian May\\John
Deacon\\Roger Taylor\\David Bowie-. The result in MP3 Tag:

16370

Queen still appears in the artist list. However, Freddy Mercury, Brian
May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor are displayed by iPeng as artists,
when I sort by album (and also when the album plays), but when I sort by
artist, they do not appear in the list.

With one - in my opinion strange - exception: David Bowie. I have other
albums by him and under his name, the Queen album is listed:

16371

Does anybody have any idea, what is going on?

Will do, Pippin. Just thought that as the search finds the artists but
they are not displayed in the artist list, this might have something to
do with iPeng. Thanks for your input!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2014-06-28 Thread vanye

If acceptable, I would like to make a small suggestion concerning
design. It has to do with my fingers getting somehow bigger and more
awkward with advancing age.

In the album screen, above the album cover, there is a button to go back
to the album list, and directly above this button, you can toggle
list-repeat. I have marked it in the following screenshot:

16116

Very often I touch the repeat-button instead of going back to the album
list. Would it be a possibility, to align this with the top of the album
cover instead of the bottom? It would give these clumsy fingers more
room to work with. ;) Here is a screenshot of what that would look
like:

In the LMS-settings

there is an item custom pre-caching specifications. Do I need to check

What does it do?
