Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout
I know this is a long shot of a question, but has anyone ever seen a screensaver similar to MusicInfoSCR, but also allows display of current weather in one of the screen elements (similar to SuperDateTime) ? I run multiple Booms, and often they're on a radio stream, so the progress-bar options are a bit redundant, but wouldn't mind being able to see current or forecast weather temp. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout
If I include a custom font in my plugin that includes this character (I really only need this 1 character) is it possible to display this character on jivelite *without* installing a new font? Or was that only a thing with the older Logitech devices (line display)? Correct, the custom fonts as included in this plugin are for the old ip3k based players (Boom, Classic, Transporter) only. The newer models with color displays would need a different font installed on the device itself. Custom fonts can be done their, but they must be done as applets, rather than a plugin. I believe there's one in the current list of add-ons for the devices, if you need inspiration. Ralphy thinks it's not possible without installing a new font. What's your take on this? You can trust him when it comes to questions about Squeezeplay/JiveLite. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout
Michael, I'm posting this question here because your plugin includes custom fonts that allow you to use custom charcters on the display of some devices. And since you're the LMS core developer I'm hoping for a final possible/not possible answer. I'd very much like to use the *blackstar unicode 2605 character* with my plugin's default title formats. Unfortunately jivelite's default font FreeSans doesn't include this character. So it won't be displayed on pCP, Touch, Radio or anything else using jivelite unless you install a different font that includes this character (which probably hardly any user will do). If I include a custom font in my plugin that includes this character (I really only need this 1 character) is it possible to display this character on jivelite *without* installing a new font? Or was that only a thing with the older Logitech devices (line display)? Ralphy thinks it's not possible without installing a new font. What's your take on this? It is fixed by me going to the Player-MusicInfoSCR tab in the web browser (just selecting the tab - no need to change anything). It happens quite frequently to me but I'm not sure what pattern is yet. My server is set to go to sleep with no activity so it might relate to coming out of hibernation. AH! finally found the thread for this plugin. I've been using it both on my SB3 and my Boom for several weeks now and it works great, so thanx a lot for your work :-) I have two small questions though : -Do you have any plans to add the alternate volume display to the Boom too ? it looks so much better than the default one ! -Is there a way to replicate the Jump to Now playing behaviour while using MusicInfoSCR ? It can be confusing when the current track is being displayed, and you press down or right (to see the next track or the details of the current one) and you end up in the middle of the settings or favourites menu ^^; -- BlueScreenJunky BlueScreenJunky's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22725 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53347 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout
Michael Thanks for your great work on Music Info Scr. Do you have any plans to implement multiple MIS screensavers? I can see several needs for this. Firstly, for the various music sources not all the information is relevant or necessary so you may want to have one screensaver for your Music Library, another for Internet Radio, another for Podcasts etc. so these would need to be linked to the music source somehow. Another reason for multiple screensavers would be: when I have my SB Boom on my desk, I am close enough to it to read the 3-line display and have some detailed information but in another room, it's too small to read from a distance so I would like to switch to a larger, less detailed display. Firstly, when displaying the animated sleep icons on a SB3 (not tested Boom), the second image for '60 minutes' appears to be missing. All other times work fine. Could you please describe how you get in that situation? Secondly, I listen to a lot of Internet radio streams, and I use the 'kbps' option in your plugin. On some stations, I get valid info, but on others (particularly BBC iPlayer stations) it displays '0kbps'. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout
Could you please describe how you get in that situation? In the MusicInfoSCR plugin settings, I've selected to display the 'sleep' icon in the top right hand corner of my SB3, and I've also chosen to 'animate' the icon. (I'm not at home at the moment - let me know if I need to be clearer on these setting details). Then, I push the 'sleep' button on the remote a number of times to select a sleep time for the SB3. If I select 15, 30 or 45 minutes, the icon appears and alternates every second or so with an icon that includes small circle. If I select 60 minutes, the icon without a circle appears and then disappears every second. It's as if the '60 minutes' sleep icon with the circle is not included in the plugin. It's as if the '60 minutes' sleep icon with the circle is not included in the plugin. Ok, got it. Ha! That's an odd issue... I've been using that custom font of mine to display thos icons. And I've been doing so without paying any attention to some of the meanings of those characters. Turns out the one which I use for the missing icon is reserved for some special task in SC's display control, therefore can't be displayed. I'll have to rebuild the plugin with new artwork. 1. I enter Plugins::MusicInfoSCR::Info::getFormatString with $formattedString set to TITLESWITCHERALBUMARTISTTRACKSTATRATING Very likely a similar issue to what you've reported last time: my regex is a bit too simplistic. Code: my $albumOrArtist = ($formatString =~ /(ALBUM|ARTIST)/i); Please change this regex to /\b(?:ALBUM|ARTIST)\b/i and try again. 3. Finally it enters the if statement for $albumOrArtist and when it reaches the following row the * in my format string is changed to an empty string. Oops... cleaning up too aggressively :-/. I'm not sure if the problem is the regular expression in step 1 or the replacement regular expression in step 3. It works correctly as long as I don't have the word ALBUM or ARTIST in the title format name. It's the combination. The cleanup was intended to remove excessive characters from some radio stations, which tend to keep the display scrolling nonsense characters forever. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout
Michael, this patch seems to solve the problem I had with using the text PLAYLIST in my title formats. Thanks for testing. By the way, in the Classic skin I've noticed that you need to hit Save Settings once in the Music Information Screen settings page before you can actually change which title format you like to show. Nothing This very likely is due to the fact that the Classic (and Fishbone, EN etc.) skins dynamically update the page without a full reload. This means JS isn't loaded. Will have to see how this can be worked around. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
