hi, sorry if this is an obvious question: is there any way to get the Playlist view to number tracks as "cd disc number - track number. ", rather than the current "track number. ", please? I have some multi-disc albums (some with 6 or more discs), and it makes it hard to work out where I am in the playlist. Can you confirm for me that Wayne's Squeeze Ctl apps volume can be controlled from your pixel 3a while it is in the background and your using another app, such as chromecast? That is my main use example and works well for me on Android 11. Hi Wayne, Posted last November about upgrading to Android 12 and not being able to use volume ctl rocker switch with Squeeze Ctl app or chromecast whether in foreground or background due to Google disabling functionally due to legal dispute with Sonos. I rolled back my phone to Android 11 and decided to wait for Android 12L to be released and see if that had a fix for the problem. Wondering wether you or any one else with Pixel 3a can confirm if the issue has been resolved with 12L - I don't want to go through upgrade/downgrade process again if volume rocker control is still not working properly. I changed my router, the new one is up and running. My mobile is connected to the outer. My pCp is ethernet connected to the router. I can see LMS on my main computer. What I can't get to work is the LMS server in Squeeze Control. It actually showed the correct server name in server settings, but reported repeatedly that it can't connect to server. I had it look for a new server, it was showing correct server name. After that bit of work with server settings, it just stopped working. I try to start it, and immediately get an android message that Squeeze Control keeps stopping. Can't even get into it to try and fix. What to do? The Download Manager gives the error "java.io.IOExcption: Invalid file path". I can see the folder structure being created on the phone but the files never arrive. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, clearing data and cache but no change. Hey Wayne, My pixel 3a just upgraded to Android 12 and I now cannot use volume ctl rocker switch with squeeze ctl app whether in foreground or background. Searching on line apparently Google have disabled use of hardware control of apps with the device rocker buttons on Android 12 due to some legal dispute with Sonos. This completely screws up my use of the app for everyday purposes. Do you have any idea whether this is going to be a transient issue or a long term problem? Any info would be much appreciated. I just cleaned my Windows Desktop "Stuff" folder and found an old confusing screenshot collage I made (and posted here somewhere some time ago): 35540 I still see this behavior (the duration is ONLY displayed if search results have the same POSITION in both LMS search and Squeeze Control search. That's only the case for the second result here. And IF the duration is shown the artist name is shown in parenthesis behind the album title. That's not in the graphic, though). Pressing connect on the widget will launch the app in the background and pressing the 'X' will close it. I think I'm going nuts! I'm sure I used to be able to change the order of tracks in a playlist by dragging up or down. It doesn't work now. Did something change, or am I actually nuts? R. I am wondering the best settings, and on which app, to integrate the two? I looked for a SB Player support thread using the forum search and couldn't find oneThe goal is to create a "launch when needed, kill when not" scenario for SB Player. I also don't understand when the apps are running, foreground, background, and when they are not, the same is true to android in general i guess Anyhow, what I would like to do is this. I've come around a bug. Sometimes I can't scroll the playlist up and down at all. Seems to happen when the app is running in the background for a while. Everything else works in the app. Ways to circumvent this, is to restart the app. Or if I rearrange my playlist, it also starts working again. Using the app on a Pixel 2XL (android 11) with gesture navigation. Google became a lot stricter with what apps can be used with Android Auto some time last year. Thanks for the last update of the app. Looks more modern now, especially with the music notification option, to bring it in the correct place. One thing about that music notification. When I swipe down on my phone, I get the notification panel. The music notification is collapsed. Only the pause/play is visible. On the second swipe down I see a lot more options. Would it be possible, to add at least a skip forward and maybe backwards control in the collapsed notification? Just like Spotify. Tried the E tag and while it works fine for albums, there seems to be problem a for artists. If a saved artist doesn't have saved albums, that artist won't be returned when you request an artist list with the E tag. I've only tried it with Spotty though. Traditionally the library was based on tracks. An artist without a track could not exist, as only tracks would define what was in the list. With the integration of online services this slightly changed. I think I managed to turn it off from an option shown by the widget itself, but never could find the option among the preferences. Does it exist somewhere in preferences? Is there any way to browse albums in a grid of covers? Say, two wide in portrait mode, with either very small text, or no text at all? When I tap the + icon on an album, it immediately adds the album to the playlist, without any confirmation. But when I do the same with a single track, a dialog "Add To... Current Playlist" is displayed, requiring another touch. Is there something in the preferences that can be configured so that this is not required? Song downloads already go into the default Music folder, the folder specified in the app is a sub-folder under that. Prior to Android 10, the app can a create that folder by itself, but it is no longer allowed to do that. Hi, I've had this app for a few years now but could never get line in to show up for my SB Radio. At this time I no longer have an LMS, the SB Radio plays line in 99% of the time, but sometimes it plays radio or Deezer. When that is over it wound be good to switch it back to line in. I have found a bug. First, have Squeeze CTRL open in the playlist view. Then lock the phone with power button. Then unlock your phone, in my case the fingerprint scanner. Then try to scroll the playlist page. This is not possible. On the second try (still in unlocked state), you will reorder the track you are pressing. After that you can scroll freely. Squeeze Ctrl is not a media app and having it pretend to be one can be problematic especially when used in conjunction with SB Player. I am using the current Samsung Galaxy S6 Tab with Android 10. When I use SC and scroll down the cover list or look at the playlist or other activities, than after a while SC looses the network connection (message: error fetching covers - network error - reconnect), but my WLAN connection is stable and I have full connection to the internet, to the LMS via firefox and other services. I have to end the app and wait one or two minutes, restart the app and everything works fine. After a while the same error occurs. This is a new behaviour for me and occurs since I am using Android 10 with the Galaxy. Before I had a Galaxy S2 with Android 7 and this worked. Are there any experiences with this behaviour? I don't think this is within the control of the Squeeze Ctrl. The app It is. LMS doesn't provide the overlay as I haven't found an easy way to do this kind of image processing. just asks the server to send the artwork for the stream. It's up to the server to send the correct one What you can do is use the additional E tag for albums/artists/titles queries, which would give you the external ID. That's something like spotify:album:abc, or qobuz:234039.flac. With this new LMS 8 and the feature "online music library integration" there is an option to put the streaming service logo on top of album artwork. Basically, apps have the option to request the system gestures be limited to just the bottom third of the screen. I'll add that when I get around to it. The rating stars actually an image or more specifically 6 images, one for each possible state. There's just not enough demand for me to change it to support an arbitrary number of stars. Can't really call it a bug when Squeeze Ctrl was never designed to run on Android TV and has never been certified to run on Android TV. In fact it shouldn't be available for download on that platform. SB Player should automatically pause when another app starts playing audio. I have found a small (but annoying) bug. I use the app on an Nvidia Shield and I can happily report the TV remote allows me to navigate around the app with selections highlighted. In the Favourites section however there is no highlight although I can still use the remote relying on guesswork and intuition. Looks like the highlights got missed from this section. Also is there an option that will close or mute SB Player when I start viewing a video, rather than having to pause manually? When I tried SqueezePlayer it closed down when another app took control. I also have a bug to report. I use the latest version of android with the new gesture system on a Pixel 2 XL. The issue is this. Normally you can swipe lef/right to go to: home menu, now playing, playlist. When I do this: Start the app. Select my music. Then use the android back gesture from the right side of the screen to go back one screen. Then select my music again. Now the screen will 'jump' to now playing. However that will slow down connection for users with one server, since Squeeze Ctrl tries to connect using the previous address first. Since one server setups are much more common, that's the case I'm optimizing for. For quicker switching of servers, use the selector in the header menu instead of going to settings. I have squeezebox servers in 2 locations. So I configured 2 LMS servers in Squeeze Ctl. My concern is everytime I change location I have to go in the settings to select the right one. If not I get a 'connect' button which does not work because the other server is selected...
