Check Settings/Information. There should be a folder listed ending in
"Plugins" (uppercase, "s" at the end). That's the location you should
extract the file to.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search Music repo missing?

2017-10-28 Thread docterry

I have installed LMS 7.9 in a Docker container on my QNAP server, and
have everything running properly. The only thing that I couldn't restore
is the Lazy Search plugin. The repo at
https://github.com/hickinbottoms/squeezebox-server-plugins/blob/master/repo.xml
doesn't seem to work. I can download the .zip of the last archive from
github.io, but I can't figure out how to install this .zip without going
through the repository.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search: special characters

2009-06-25 Thread Stuart Hickinbottom
You're right - it's supposed to be rebuilt after ever rescan or server
restart (by finding any entries that need building but which have not
yet been done), rather than on a particular time interval.

It's possible the rescan didn't get triggered if the main scan didn't
complete properly for any reason. It's difficult to debug after the
event, though.

Keep an eye on it and if you see the problem again take a look at the
server and scanner log files to see if there was a problem with the main
scan or the lazification process.

Thanks for reporting back - glad it worked out in the end.

Stuart

That's odd - I've taken a look at this and it works for me - eg lazy
searching for disc in An Album (disc 1) finds the album irrespective
of the search within words setting.

Are you sure that there is a space before the open parenthesis (eg it's
not An Album(Really A Nice One))?

Alternatively, do you know how to take a look at the database contents
so we can see how the plugin is encoding that album's title?

lazy search is not working with my squeezecentre installation (7.1) on
my windows home server box - it claims its an incompatible version of

unzip it on another machine and copy the whole extracted folder to the
plugins folder on slim. Could anyone tell me where the individual
unpacked elements in the lazy search distribution need to be located?

OK - firstly, unpack to a temporary folder.
You should have a folder named LazySearch2 with all contents in.

Next open the folder and using your favourite editor (eg. WordPad),
edit the file install.xml.
Change the maxversion value to something like 7.2+

Then move the entire folder to SqueezeCenter server Plugins.
And restart SqueezeCenter

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search not showing in beta build

2008-03-08 Thread mp30dancer

I got a nightly download a few weeks ago (so that I can get my beloved

But now Lazy Search isn't appearing anywhere in the plugins etc.

I moved the lazysearch2.pm in program
files/squeezecenter/server/plugins

and restarted the server, but it's not showing up on the plugins tab on
Settings. (

And there's nothing in the Players-Menus to even show Plugins on the
main menu, although that's a separate issue of course.)

The version is:

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 17653 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search not showing in beta build

2008-03-08 Thread Stuart Hickinbottom
Yes, the instructions on the website are written for the (non-beta)
SlimServer 6.5-compatible version. I'll update that when I bump the
plugin up to a full release version soon (there shouldn't be any
significant differences from the beta).

lazysearch.pm (or LazySearch2.pm as it was actually called) isn't in the
3.0b5 version for SqueezeCenter 7.

The installation instructions that come with the beta plugin should,
however, be correct. You basically extract it so that the LazySearch2
directory is in the top-level SqueezeCenter Plugins folder. eg on my
server:

/usr/local/squeezecenter/server/Plugins/LazySearch2
/usr/local/squeezecenter/server/Plugins/LazySearch2/Settings.pm
/usr/local/squeezecenter/server/Plugins/LazySearch2/LICENSE
/usr/local/squeezecenter/server/Plugins/LazySearch2/strings.txt
/usr/local/squeezecenter/server/Plugins/LazySearch2/Plugin.pm
...etc...

Let me know if you're still having trouble.

Thanks for your post.

The behaviour after restart/reinstall is the same, i.e. ONLY the Song

There is definitely no log entry of any sort being generated from Lazy

Very odd - you should at least be seeing log entries about the database
being lazified (where the plugin rebuilds the indexing) after you've
restarted the server. Are you sure you're not seeing those when starting
the server with d_plugins?

After the uninstallation, reinstallation, clearrescan and then
restarting of the server does artist and album searching still work and
song search not?

I've not heard of this particular problem (there have not been any bugs
for a while), but where things have gone wrong in the past it's always
because something has been changed. Have you started/stopped using
MusicMagic, MoodLogic, iTunes, language settings etc?

We should be able to get to the bottom of it, but it might take a little
investigation to work out what's going on.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search 2-letter artist names

I've just tried out Lazy Search and it seems really useful.

However, it looks as if it only tries to find matches once at least
three characters have been supplied. For example, I cannot get it to
find the artist named UK. Is this how it's intended to work? If it
is, then is there any way to fall back to the normal search mechanism
while Lazy Search is still enabled? (Since it appears to take over the
Search button, I don't see any way to do this).

2006-09-18 Thread ceejay

Hi

I'm running 6.5b3 from a couple of nights ago... yesterday set up the
server to do a scheduled scan at 02:00. Checked in this morning and
found that slimserver had stopped.

The Windows event log has the following message timed at 02:01...

Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at C:\Program
Files\SlimServer\server/Plugins/LazySearch2.pm line 1397.

LazySearch is...

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search issue (I think)

2006-08-23 Thread gandt

See this thread
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26539
which is about a few experiments using the latest 6.5 builds with lazy
search. I think it means there is a db issue with the plugin - stand to
be proved wrong but no plug in = no delays

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search Music plugin r52 broken in 6.5

2006-01-01 Thread Neil Sleightholm

I think the Lazy Search Music plugin is broken in SlimServer 6.5 as I
get the following error when the plugin is loaded: Initialization of
Plugins::LazySearch2 failed: Undefined subroutine
Slim::Control::Dispatch::addCommand called at D:/SlimServer/SlimServer
for Windows V6.5/server/Plugins/LazySearch2.pm line 484.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search and Artists

2005-11-19 Thread Craig

Hi,
Thanks for the Lazy Search plugin, I'm finding it very usefull but have
come across a problem.

Doing a lazy search on Artist includes composers in the results even
though I have the include commposer in artist options unchecked. My
browse artist lists are correct.

I'm using 43 of the plugin with the latest 6.2.2 build. I've tried
deleting and rebuilding the .db but no change.

Thanks
Craig
