I was referring to the command line. The web interface claims it is up to date. Using apt-get via the CLI tells a different story. I would like to install a couple of additional packages and have been unable. I'll take this to the support forum you mentioned. Hi teetitup, Do you mean the SSH command for apt-get or the web interface button? Because we have a simple one-click solution for "Update all Packages (apt-get update; apt-get upgrade)" in the Raspberry Settings right above the Debug Info in the lower half. It should work, I just tested it. Generally, you might want to check out our forums wherein we have multiple people trying to solve technical issues and a helpful community that might benefit from your problem. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is Max2Play??
I too have found that the Max2Play works very well with the Raspberry Pi3. I've used it to put an under used set of powered speakers to good use. A portable LMS system wherever I want it. Controlling it with my phone via the access point add on. No internet required. Has any one used apt-get to install additional software on the Max2Play platform? Apt-get update and installs are unsuccessful. I would like to have nfs-kernel-server installed. Also ntpdate would help as it can't maintain time. -- Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.5 - 1416570306 OS: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform: i686-linux Perl Version: 5.14.2 - i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi-64int Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) Total Players Recognized: 4 Squeezebox3: Firmware: 137 Duet: (2 receivers, 1 controller) Firmware: 77 Boom Firmware: 57 -- teeitup's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14402 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105547 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I take your point that piCoreplayer has a MASSIVE advantage in that it is all held in RAM so there almost no chance of SD-card corruption on power cycling. Plus you can use any size SD card you like - it makes no difference. And you dont have to pay for a license to use an onboard DAC. So plenty of pluses there. I am using max2play on my own as well and I installed a Squeeze-System at a friend of mine with max2play. I recently managed to run spotify connect via https://github.com/Fornoth/spotify-connect-web . But I am not very familiar with alsa-mixer for volume control with the hifiberryamp and I am unable to use spotify connect parallel with squeeze. I don't think it whould take much effort to implement that into your max2play-gui and I could easily switch between both. Sadly there is no option yet to use spotify connect with squeeze :/. ~Fabian PythonF's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65346 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105547 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Max2Play is definitely a great platform, flexible and easy to use. I was also running LMS on Windows for more then 10years, having a computer running 24/7. Now, I am on Raspi3+Max2Play+LMS: easy, nice performance and I also have Airplay running like a charm on all my 8 players. Great job! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is Max2Play??
There is not much that max2play does that piCorePlayer doesn't. The biggest differences for Joe average are 1) max2play implements samba for connection to any attached USB drive whereas piCorePlayer doesn't as yet and 2) piCorePlayer runs in RAM whereasmax2plsy doesn't. Joe will probably notice 1) but 2) will be invisible but is IMHO important. *Vortexbox LMS 7.9 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B&W P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105547 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I ran LMS/Squeeze Server/Other on a Windows box for 8 years, I'm delighted to be finally free of the Windows environment for running my Squeezeboxen. I am also delighted that someone has put together a package that has made it so ridiculously simple for me to achieve this. The Max2Play image is completely free to download and use, the 10/£8/$11.5 I paid for a license gets me support if I need it, and the ability to use my HiFiBerry DACs. Clear and rescans take less than half the time they did on my Windows machine using the same attached USB HHD. +---+ |Filename: Pic02.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=20398| +---+ kidstypike LMS on Raspberry Pi 3/max2play/HiFiBerry DAC+ > AVI DM5 1 x SB3 - 1 x Boom - 1 x (Squeezebox) Radio - 2 x Touch - 2 x Raspberry Pi/max2play/HiFiBerry kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105547 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
