Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Wow, some interesting test results this morning: After few days of working nicely, this morning I noticed that nothing was playing. My automation system, usually automatically turns on the radio each morning by issuing an URL to LMS server that tells my 'HomeGroup' virtual Chromecast to play a specific radio station. Such a command includes the IP of LMS server, which favorite to play and the physical MAC address of whichever squeezebox or CCA device you want to play it on. So I decided to do a little test by manually issueing the URL commands from Firefox address bar and looking on Ipeng on my Iphone at the same time to see what happens to which players. Before describing what I saw, a short recap of my situation: 1 HomeGroup virtual ChromeCast (I will further refer to this as HG), made up of the following two physical ChromeCasts: 2 Living Room (Woon Kamer in Dutch) physical chromecast (I will further refer to this as WR) 3 Kitchen Room physical chromecast (I will further refer to this as KR) 4 Perry's Room physical Squeezebox Classic (I will refer to as PR) 5 Corry's Room physical Squeezebox Classic (I will refer to this further as CR) To start off and without having issued any command, I noticed in Ipeng that my KR had disappeared from listing, WR was shown, but not active, PR was activated and playing what normally should have been played by the HG, CR was listed not active (as expected). I then issued a command to HG to play another favorite number and I noticed that the PR switched station. So, although I used the MAC address in the URL of the HG, the PR squeezebox responded, even though this has a different MAC address! I next disconnected the PR squeezebox from power and issued an URL to HG again. Now I saw in Ipeng that the CR squeezebox responded instead! Still the WR did nothing all this time. I then issued an URL to address the WR directly; nothing happened. I looked up the MAC address of WR inside the LMS server to double check my archived information and, sure enough, it was different from what it used to be!! So it appears the MAC address of this CCA has changed over time (in fact, in my archive it looks like there might have been two different MAC addresses for this same CCA before). This still does not explain why, if the MAC address in the URL is not available, a different physical Squeezebox Classic is chosen to play the requested music. Anyway, hope this helps towards solving the puzzle. Ps, Philippe, did you receive my emailed log files? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Update on above post: After erasing and re-generating config file of ChromeCast Bridge plugin in LMS, the KR (kitchen CCA) 'came back online', but sure enough also with a different MAC address from what it used to be before! The WR MAC address has not changed from what it was just before erasing the config file. What is interesting to see is that the MAC addresses of both the CCA's is now exactly the same, except for the last two digits behind the last colon. In the past, the MAC addresses of the two CCA's differed completely (except for the first two, which are assigned always as cc:cc:, I think) The 'virtual' HG MAC address is still the same as it has been before (probably has not changed since the beginning of the experiment). When issued the usual HG URL command, now both WR and KR CCA's start playing again (whereas this morning, the WK CCA did not respond to this command). piert's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65909 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I believe this plugin is still free. The go to Extras, Database Query, select "Free form query" and "edit". Type Code: SELECT * from multilibrary_libraries; And "Save and Execute". You should get: Code: idlibraryid name 1 classical Classical Music 2 standardStandard Music It is my bet that you will get something different. If you do, then re-edit the query to contain:: Code: UPDATE multilibrary_libraries set id = 102 where libraryid = 'classical'; UPDATE multilibrary_libraries set id = 101 where libraryid = 'standard'; UPDATE multilibrary_libraries set id = 2 where libraryid = 'standard'; UPDATE multilibrary_libraries set id = 1 where libraryid = 'classical'; SELECT * from multilibrary_libraries; (The 1st 2 updates just move the 2 ids to new numbers so that setting them back to 1 and 2 doesn't cause a conflict). The last line checks the values are now what you need. Try the menus, if they work, fine. If not, do a full rescan and see if it's OK now. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: Squeeze Control, a squeezebox remote app, is now available for Android
I generally love Squeeze Control, but am quite frustrated by some app behaviour. In particular, when I am playing something and navigate away to do something else while listening and then go back to the app, it ALWAYS returns to the default player, even when that one is not active and turned off. For instance, I've been using SB Player to listen via headphones, I go out to read something on the Web and then return to SC, it opens with the Transporter, my default, and shows whatever was last playing on the TP as "Now Playing". SBP is still actually playing, the TP is off and I have to go through the routine of rechoosing SBP to see the correct.playlist or choose new music, etc. Is this a feature or a bug?
