Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages

2017-05-09 Thread marzipan71

Hi - thanks for the observations, bpa. So here's a couple of things I
tried yesterday:

- Using the 'native' LMS on Synology, I tried to get the iPlayer addon
working and it would not work with either its original version, the
updated version (1.5.4), or by changing the stream preferences to DASH
first, or HLS first, or a few other combos I tried. Each time, I would
just get a 'Connecting' message from the Squeezebox radio and no
catch-up streams would play
- Oddly, I could control the radio from my laptop, using the 'native'
LMS in a browser, selecting a catch-up stream, pressing play in the
browser, and it would play on the radio

Today I switched from using the 'native' LMS on Synology to the
LmsRepack, and:

- Tried using the iPlayer v1.3.1alpha3 and could not get any catch-up
streams to work either directly from the radio or via the LmsRepack
running in a browser on my laptop, but live streams were working
- I upgraded to iPlayer v1.5.4.3 and the catch-up streams play fine,
with the stream preferences set to DASH>HLS>MP3>FlashAAC. I haven't
tried any other preference order because they're working now

Menu tree was Home>Radio>BBC iPlayer>BBC 6 Music>Today>05:00 Radcliffe
and Maconie

or several other catch-up streams I was testing - so BBC iPlayer>BBC
Radio 2>Today>Ken Bruce etc.
Transcoding was enabled in all of the above scenarios
Player is the Logitech Squeezebox Radio, not the UE version

Hope this helps and thanks for all your help - I'm very happy to have
this problem fixed!

I just did a quick test :)

In the described setting (duet with account#2 and SPH with account#1) I
can see playlists and albums of account#2 on the duet. Playback works as
long as no other stream that runs thru SPH is started.

Thanks to both of you.
And now b2t ;) :
Now I could use Spotify Family for my children's Radios, a Touch for my

since there would be five family accounts -- all could play different
Streams from spotify. Children and wife directly, I through SPH.
I guess with librespot that won't be the case anymore because then all
devices would play through the same plugin.

As other already posted in the iPlayer thread there is no reason why the
updated version would work on a DS215j and not on a DS214play, unless
transcoding is involved. This would be the only difference between the
two.
So, update first and check the plugin functionality again.

SPH settings and browsing are totally independent. You wouldn't even
need any account on mysb.com if you knew spotify IDs by heart.

I think this is really a BBCiplayer problem and would be best solved on
BBCipLayer thread - eventually the spource may be synology but you
haven't done any detailed investigation to verify the cause - this is
done at the BBCiplyaer plugin level.

More details please - so that things can be checked (e.g. sometimes
program are not available in DASH)
What menus were used to try to play the program - full menu tree
starting from home.
What are all the BBCiPLayer settings ? is transcoding enabled ?
What type of player ? Can it play AAC natively ?

If you get a problem fetching data from BBC (e.g. network problem) - LMS
cache will hold it and the BBCiPlayer problem may never go away (even if
network issue has gone) until you stop trying the same URL. So how you
test is very important.

What message are in the server.log log. Enable additional logging via
plugin.bbciplayer.dash

rather than do some non-reversible update.

But! I updated to the latest version of iPlayer using bpa's repo:

...and everything is working with my DS214play, the Squeezebox Radio,

LmsRepack are unbelievably awesome and make me extremely happy! Thank
you so much for your help!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2017-05-09 Thread Nojelc

Hi can someone please give me a summary/the big picture on what is
happening with Spotify, Triodes plugin and SB devices. There is so much
highly specific stuff in multiple threads that I cannot see the wood for
the trees.

I have multiple SB devices and have used Spotify via Triodes plugin for
years with no problem. Recently I have been travelling and have used my
Spotify account on my Android phone. Back home now and I cannot get
Spotify to work on my SB devices, all the menus seem to work normally
but when I try to play I get "Connection timed out".
Initially I thought this may be due to me having used my Spotify account
with my Android device recently. But 2 days later with no access to
Spotify from any other device it is still not working.

So:
- should Spotify still work via Triodes plugin
- if so is it going to stop working at some point
- and if it shoud be working why am I getting "Connection timed
out".

Yes. There have been reports about the playlist menu being slow, and
other intermittent issues, though.

Yes. Spotify says they were about to shut down systems used by Triode's
plugin (and SB Radio/Touch fwiw) before the end of the year.

Check your settings and the Spotify helper application log file.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages

2017-05-09 Thread marzipan71

Just discovered this thread via 'this'
thread. I'm running a Synology DS214play with the latest DSM updates and
all packages etc up to date, together with multiple Logitech Squeezebox
Radios. I've stopped my native LMS and installed the repack, which looks
fabulous! So as a newbie to the repack, I still don't seem to have it
working and have the following observations/ questions:

- I didn't realize I had to manually install the iPlayer plugin after
installing the repack, and was fiddling with the 'BBC Radio' app for
ages wondering why it wouldn't work...doh!
- Having installed the iPlayer and iPlayerExtras (I know its broken, but
maybe some day it might come back...?), I'm still not there with getting
the iPlayer addin to play the catch-up streams, but it is working for
live streams
- I have all the pretty icons for iPlayer, and I can see the programme
listings, but when I try to listen to anything from the past 7 days,
here's what happens...
- All of the programme icons (little faces of the presenters etc) are
there, but when I click on one of them, I get 'Error: No items found in
playlist' and the name of the programme

I'm stumped as to how I've got this far - its playing the Live (Non-UK)
streams - I live in Seattle - but the catch-up doesn't seem to want to
work. One idea I had - the iPlayer plugin is shown as v1.3.1alpha3 from
Triode, but from the other thread I referenced at the top of this post,
it looks like the iPlayer plugin has been updated to 1.5.4.3 - so do I
need to update the iPlayer plugin using bpa's repo to the latest version
to have it working? Or do I have to stay with v1.3.1alpha3 because I'm
using the LmsRepack? Or is there some other reason why I might not be
able to listen to the catch up programmes? I've started and restarted
everything multiple times as well.

All help very much appreciated! Thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [HOW TO] Squeezelite player on Windows 8 step by step

2017-05-09 Thread marflao

Thanks for this tutorial and Ralphy for pointing me here ;-)

I successfully followed the steps described in post #1 to set up
Squeezelite via the command line.

In my case I installed Squeezelite on a WIN 8 notebook (LMS runs on my
NAS) and chose the ASIO driver of my external USB DAC (LHL GO2ASE).
All good so far... even dsf files are played smoothly and synching
between Squeezelite and my other player (a Pi2 w. PicorePlayer) works
like a charm, too.

I also tried the batch file approach but wasn´t able to "get a sound"
via Squeezelite (either using the win32 or win64 binaries) therefore I
removed nssm and went back to the "cmd" approach.

Just one question from my side:
is my understanding correct that once i started Squeezelite via the
corresponding command that the command line window has to stay open as
long as I intend to play something via Squeezelite?
Or in other words: once the command line window is closed Squeezelite
will be shut down as a player in LMS, correct?

Thanks in advance.

Michael,

just a short note to tell you everything is working fine now. I have
deleted the spotify app from mysb.com and reinstalled it again. Then I
was able to associate my spotify accounts to the various players without
a problem.

Works like a charm!

Sorry for creating a confusion.

Looking forward to the new plugin :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Protocol Handler - play Spotify on all your Squeezeboxen

2017-05-09 Thread Michael Herger

It worked on all devices Radio, Boom an Duet. Now it does not work on
the latter two.

I went back and replicated what I was instructed to do, which got me up
and running before, to no avail.

Go back to the plugin's settings page and make sure the helper app is
running and you're logged in to Spotify. See your posting #524.

Thanks for your reply.
But the quoted settings are different than the first you described. Now
both old SBen are connect via SPH to the same account while the "new"
Radio uses #2.
Since a new SB doesn't need SPH, it seems logical that your new settings
work as intended.
I thought the SPH is the bottleneck. Could you please test if you can
use different accounts with the old SBen?

YES and NO.

Unfortunately the latter doesn't work, because streaming thru the SPH
plugin also requires credentials for an account. Therefore spotify
detects that one account is used in parallel and stops the stream.

Here's the setup

account#1 - boom
account#1 - duet
account#1 - SPH plugin
account#2 - radio1

After starting a stream on the radio1 (with account#2) I am not able to
start a stream on the boom or the duet in parallel, although two
different accounts are used.

@Michael: Can you confirm this?

@Michael: Can you confirm this?

I think it makes sense: SB Radio/Touch can use idividual accounts. But
all other players which depend on SPH or Triode's plugin share the same
account, which likely is shared with one of the other devices, too.

What platform are you running your LMS on?

So you can use your Boom with the first account and your Duet with the
second one and you see the appropriate playlists?
And can you furthermore stream from both accounts at the same time?

Thank you very much for your efforts.
One wee little thingy stays to clearings:
In the second setting from above, whose playlists are offered , when
using an old SB with account #2 while SPH is set up for the other
account #1? I'd expect the wrong ones from #1.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify-connect-web

2017-05-09 Thread Rheinlnder

Now we're getting there :)
I did some more tests. First of all, I had "Always use Helper
Application for Streaming" activated in the SPH settings of LMS.
Unchecking this option gave the following results:

My Setup for test#1:

account#1 - boom
account#1 - duet
account#1 - SPH plugin
account#2 - radio1

Test results: Playback on the radio1 (account#2) and playback either on
the boom *or* the duet (account#1) in parallel *works*.
(Since firmware streaming on the radio1 (account#2) is used I was also
able of starting a stream on the boom (*or* the duet), which both use
account#1.

My Setup for test#2:

account#1 - boom
account#2 - duet
account#1 - SPH plugin
account#2 - radio1

Test results: Playback on the duet (account#2) and playback on the boom
(account#1) do *NOT* work in parallel.
(I suppose since neither of the devices are capable of firmware
streaming, both devices receive their stream thru the SPH plugin, which
is allocated to account#1) Therefore spotify detects a parallel use of
account#1 and stops the stream.

I am running LMS on a Raspberry Pi2 (thru the use of max2play).

If you would like me to conduct further tests just let me know.
