Hi Vince,

Checkout the COLLATE keyword.

You can do:
SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1252_CS_AS

The CS_AS bit is important, CS = case sensitive. AS = accent sensitive

Thanks, Paul!

I had to mess with it a bit, but using your advice as a springboard, I
was able to make it work with the following. Thanks again!

SELECT distinct pmt_type COLLATE Latin1_General_CS_AS_KS_WS as pmt_type

[NF] Windows 7 question on default save to drives

2013-04-10 Thread MB Software Solutions, LLC
Coworker asked me to look at his Win7 laptop. He's got 2 local hard
drives--C (58.5 GB) and D (397 GB). When he or his girlfriend goes to
save something, it always wants to save on the C drive and he's now out
of space. (These are probably typical non-IT-savvy users who just save
wherever the default location is.) The D drive is completely unused.
He wants to know how to make it save to the D drive by default to take
advantage of that ton of unused space. I'm going to google it now but
figured I'd throw up the bat-signal in the sky to ProFox in case
someone's got a suggestion for this.

Thanks!

RE: [NF] Windows 7 question on default save to drives

2013-04-10 Thread Kurt Wendt
I know in older versions of Windows U can do this - so probably so in Win7.

If they save to Typical Locations - its in the Documents folder. You can
actually re-configure the actual location of that in Windows to be on the D:
drive - and, when you DO - it will MOVE it all over - and then all new files
will go to D: drive!

My instructions are a bit cryptic - so, if you need further assistance -
just Flash the Bat-Signal again!!!

Guess what she asked me AS SOON AS I walk in the House from work???

Ah - can you help us connect it to the Home Network?

Good one, and spot on.

Have you noticed the impressive restraint exercised by the a-h contingents
over the last couple of months? Every month I see the stats and it is not
400 posts by righty a-h #1, 346 posts by lefty a-h #2, etc. alternating
lefty/righty, then a cliff of 12 down to 3 from the non-a-h (IMO)

Does my heart good.

But that 10% is really nasty.

I did a bit of work recently to change the tax handling on an
old Access database system. The new tax setup -- actually a
reversion to a previous but you probably do not want the British
Columbia political history -- went into effect on April 1.

It was much easier for me to make the changes in advance, have
it all tested, and then show up again on the right day to put the
changes into effect. My client was quite happy to pay me for the
last bit. Had it not worked out for whatever reason, it would have
been troublesome for them.

And yes, I did find a glitch in the setup that apparently
prevented the change from working. Actually, it was that the program
icon on one system was for an old version of the database, not the
shortcut that it should have been.

VFP 9 On-Line Help

2013-04-10 Thread Gene Wirchenko

Dear Vixens and Reynards:

I understand that there is a corrected version VFP 9 docs
available. I do recall trying to install one and it not
working. Does anyone have a pointer to one that does work?

The issue got ground home because of a current thread. When I
looked up RELEASE ALL in the docs, I found that it was not in the
index. RELEASE, as in variables, was not there either. (The latter
form of RELEASE has been in the language since dBASE II!)

I want to have another go at grids, and I understand that they
were changed somewhat in the last few versions of VFP so I want good docs.

Same here. All of my rightly tomes are brilliant and well thought out.
Besides they are true; no BS.

Re: VFP 9 On-Line Help

2013-04-10 Thread Fred Taylor
It's a self extracting .EXE inside the .ZIP file you downloaded. In my
case, it installed by default in the standard folder C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Visual FoxPro 9, but it may be using the registry to
determine where it was installed, but I do not know for sure.

RE: [NF] Windows 7 question on default save to drives

2013-04-10 Thread David Almada
Wow, I never knew that! That is great! But other people have to know what
to back up and how to find them right? Or does it still display as
documents by default? And will a backup program looking for documents
folder under owner find that?
