Anywhere to go and read up on Compression and EQ?
Hi, As my very first song in Pro tools approaches the final stages with editing and mixing and that kind of stuff there’s one thing i admit as an amateur i can’t quite get my head around and that’s EQing and compressing, compressing in particular. Does anyone know if there are good tutorials free or paid or better yet if there are good sound samples available that demonstrates compressing? It’s probably a matter of taste, but is there some kind of golden rule to all this madness?:-) /Krister -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Pro Tools Accessibility group. Re: Ivory II Grand Pianos American Concert D presets
Just a word about the preset files: The folders include the Grand Pianos package containing the German D, Bosendorfer Imperial and Yamaha C7. I added the American Concert D. If you were to purchase one of the packages like, say, the Concert D, for example, I suppose choosing one of the other presets wouldn't do anything except possibly change the effects settings and stuff like resonance, soft pedal samples, etc. Without the other keysets, the piano models wouldn't be called up because, obviously, they wouldn't be present. I'm just not sure if, without them present, would there be some kind of error message or whatever. At any rate, it's certainly possible to simply copy the appropriate piano model folder into the Ivory plug-in settings folder. how to drag files from the regions List with Keyboard Maestro
Folks, I've just spent a few minutes experimenting with Keyboard Maestro and I've been able to successfully and, more importantly, consistently drag files to the timeline. To those using KM, create a macro that moves the mouse to 0,0 relative to the center of the front window. In other words, the mouse will be moved right to the middle of the active window. 1. Make sure you're only showing the track to which you wish to drag a file. 2. Make sure the track is selected and press Control-up arrow to maximize the track height. 3. Go to the Regions List and find the file you wish to drag. 4. Route the mouse pointer to the file. 5. Issue a mouse down command with Control-Option-Command-Shift-Space Bar. 6. Trigger the macro to drag to the center of the Edit window. You can define a hot key or choose from the Menu Extras. KM gives you a bunch of options. 7. Press Control-Option-Command-Shift-Space Bar for mouse up. At some point, I'll try to figure out a way to do a modifier drag. VoiceOver doesn't currently support modified drags so KM might be the short term answer. Command-dragging and Control-dragging files to the timeline offers specific functionality to have regions jump to insertion points among other things. Re: how to drag files from the regions List with Keyboard Maestro
great, Slau. I'm going purchase km to do it. Best, Juan. -Original Message- From: Slau Halatyn Sent: Monday, September 29, 2014 9:18 PM To: ptaccess@googlegroups.com Subject: how to drag files from the regions List with Keyboard Maestro Folks, I've just spent a few minutes experimenting with Keyboard Maestro and I've been able to successfully and, more importantly, consistently drag files to the timeline. At some point, I'll try to figure out a way to do a modifier drag. a little extra feedback with Keyboard Maestro macros
Just a little tip for anyone wanting a little feedback when executing macros. It's easy to add an action to a macro to speak text after a macro has completed. For example, with the mouse nudge macros I posted the other day, you can add an action to each macro and type whatever you wish to hear. I added the words, up, down left and right to the appropriate macros so that, when I issue a nudge mouse right command, I hear the word right. It's a little extra feedback that can help confirm the action. I added the text, Mouse moved to center to a macro that performs that action. It let's me know that the mouse has indeed been moved to the center of the front-most window.
