yep that’s it Slau. i just need to extend the length of the track, i think shuffle mode should do it. I’ll give that a run. Thanks again. Re: Pasting audio
Hi Steve, Depending on precisely what you wish to achieve, there might be any number of ways to do it. Forgive me but I can't enumerate any steps unless I know exactly what the parameters are. It seems you have a track (rhythm guitar, is it?) and you want to extend a solo section? Am I understanding that correctly? If you absolutely want to keep it on the same audio track, you can split the clip where you want to insert another clip, press f1 to make sure you're in Shuffle mode and paste the clip. the clip that resides to the right of the insertion point will slide over to accommodate the pasted clip. I have to say, for me to take that approach, it would have to be very specificly called for. Again, I don't know the details so I can't say definitively but there are probably several ways to accomplish what you're trying to do. If you'd like, you could give me more details. Further, you could even send me a basic session file and I could take a look at it. At that point, I could probably spell out exactly what you'd need to do and how to do it. Re: Pasting audio
Hi Gord, One can either paste over in slip mode (a confusing choice of words) or move things later in Shuffle mode. Blending is not currently an option. I can see why it has never been an option in the past because it's problematic when two clips are combined into a new clip. Once that's done, they become a brand new clip and there are perhaps considerations for not having this feature. Still, I'd imagine it's the kind of thing that might someday be introduced. For now, it's fairly easy to do an offline bounce of two or more tracks and have it come up onto a new track. Slau On Jul 5, 2016, at 5:46 PM, Gordon Kentwrote: > Ahhh! Re: Click plugin question
Hi Brian, Actually, since I'm waiting for this installer, I went and found another iLok key and launched a copy of Pro Tools on my laptop. So, here's what you need to do: The very first parameter in the plug-in is "Follow Meter." Turn this off. Now you'll have two variables to deal with which are the accented note and the unaccented note. If you choose to use an accented note and you want it to be accented on the first beat of the measure, set the value of the accented note to be a whole note. Set the value of the unaccented note to be quarter notes. This will give you the standard metronome that you get by default. Now, if you want eighths, you'll either have to create a second instantiation of the plug-in that has no accents and is playing eighths or forego the accents in the first instance of the plug-in. with no accents, you can set the first note to play quarters and the second to play eighths. Mind you, if you do that, you'll have no sense of where beat 1 is unless you always count carefully. It's six of one, half a dozen of the other but either approach will work. I personally favor the dual plug-in approach while setting each plg-in to use different sounds. Re: a handy little trick I discovered
Oo, this is just a bit disconcerting… I'm working on a session where I just happened to need to rename a few tracks in a row and I tried the Command-right arrow shortcut that I mentioned earlier today and it doesn't work. This is how the track name dialog has worked for 20 years and it's suddenly different. Hmm… I'll look into this further but if they dropped that shortcut I'll be quite disappointed. I'll see if perhaps there's now a different shortcut in its place. Boo. Pasting audio
Hi all! Is there a way in PT to paste audio without overwriting or moving already existing stuff? Just to habe a blend out of both at the same location. Re: anyone seen this
Hi Steve, Apart from that particular fix, there are about 49 other fixes, some minor, some major. It's well worth it. Re: a handy little trick I discovered
Hi Gord, One more thing you can do is, after renaming the initial track, press Command-right arrow and that'll populate the dialog with the next track's name and comment info. Command-left arrow does the same in the opposite direction. HTH, Slau On Jul 5, 2016, at 12:19 AM, Gordon Kentwrote: > I was in a situation where I wanted to rename a bunch > of tracks.
