Pro Tools 12.8.3 supports High Sierra

2017-12-19 Thread Slau Halatyn
Alright, all you bold trailblazers, Pro Tools 12.8.3 is out and it supports
High Sierra. Check your products area. Don't be surprised if it's slow or
perhaps being rolled out over the course of a day or two but it's out.

RE: BR1600-CD

2017-12-19 Thread Andre Jarreau
Was told a few months ago the 1600 might be accessible since it had knobs and
such. I was told the menu window is a one line display with about eight
options to select from. Thought at the time was it wouldn’t take much to get
used to. A touring pro told me about it. Though the touring pro is sighted he
said menu wise it is very simple.

Does anyone on the list use a BR1600-CD?

I've only used the buss compressers and fgx limiter and the parameters move in
almost unusable increments with voice over, if other slate plugs are the same I
wouldn't personally go near the bundle. I think UA is probably a better deal
for you given you have the hardware.

FloTools strangeness in 2.3.1

2017-12-19 Thread Peter Bosher

Hi All,

I've been using FloTools since it was launched and besides all the
appreciation for its productivity value, I've always found it very
reliable.  Since upgrading from 2.30 to 2.3.1, it completely stops
working after I shut down.  So, I install 2.3.1, after which it works
perfectly for one run of ProTools.  I then close PT and shut down.  Next
day, FloTools appears to have gone.  No keystrokes give any response.  I
then reinstall it and it works fine again for just one time.

Has anyone else seen this, and is there anything I can try?  I'm running
PT 12.8.2 under Sierra.

Best,

Peter

Re: Help with Burn

2017-12-19 Thread Peter Bosher
Thanks so much Christopher-Mark, things like that are so incredibly
easy, but only once you know how. Yet again this amazing list proves its
value.  I seem to beat myself up for not knowing, or being able to work
out, how to do certain things, and then I ask and somebody comes back
with what seems like it should have been obvious.  I'm happy that I've
been able to answer a few questions in the past in the same way, and
hope my own ratio of answers to questions increases with time.

All that to say how much I appreciate your taking the time to answer,
and that goes for all of us.

Very best,

Peter

Re: Help with Burn

2017-12-19 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
No no no. Go to the top of the screen in the app, and you'll see a toolbar.
Interact with that tool bar with VO+Shift+down arrow. then, VO+right arrow
through your toolbar, and you should see the option to change to an audio CD.

  Subject: Help with Burn

  Hi All,

Slau recommended the app just called 'Burn' and it certainly looks very
accessible, but by default it burns data CD's and I just can't figure
out how to set it to burn an audio CD. I feel as though I should be
able to work this out, but the documentation doesn't make it clear and
I've dug around in options and menus and just can't see how it's done.

  Best,

  Peter
