Re: Pro Tools 2019.6 - track list table

2020-01-05 Thread Martin (Punky) Sopart
Hello Slau!

Thank you for confirming that.

Before updating Pro Tools and maybe some day Mac OS, I’m reviewing and
translating all my German documentation... And so I came to that issue.

The Menu/View/Other Displays option only effects the edit window.
And yes, the track list stuff moves to the very end of the window after
deselecting that option.

Using the “Track List Show/Hide” buttons in either the mix or edit window, does
the same for the desired window.

Have fun! / Martin

It's kind of a combination of things. Because of a request by a third party
developer of scripts for Pro Tools automation, the elements in the track list
changed to be available to automation even when the track list is visually
hidden. There's a current bug report to at least help clarify when the track
list table is shown or hidden for VoiceOver users. BTW, if I remember
correctly, when it's hidden, it shows up at the very end of the Mix and Edit
windows. HTH,

OK, maybwe that's it then. I'm only paying month by month; I'm not in an

from what I remember, when I got my subscription to ProTools through Sweetwater
it was $29.99 plus tax which should be $32. I am not sure, but I believe the
2495 that is being talked about is through avid themselves. Anyway I’d also
like to know this.

up there north of the 60th parallel? Considering weather-related transportation

I dunno. All I know is, I went through Sweetwater, and each month, they
always charge me $35.00. I've never seen it at $24.00, and you and I
have been doing the subscription almost for the same amount of time. I'm
not arguing what you're saying, please do know that! I'm just unsure
why the difference between what you pay and what I pay.

Did you go directly through Avid? I wonder if SW is somehow charging
more? That wouldn't make any sense, no, but, otherwise, IDK.

The different brands may do stuff from their booths or press conferences on
youtube. The panels put on by the NAMM organizations or brands on the other
hand are a little harder to find online after the fact if you didn’t attend

Re: KK S88MK2 and Pro Tools

2020-01-05 Thread Steve Matzura

Right, that, too.

BTW, on a slightly off-topic note, pun intended, did N.I. do anything
for Mac users about the famous switching instance problem? ON Windows, I
still have to use two keyboards. The Mark 2 just won't do it, but if I
plug in the M32 simultaneous with the S-88 and change to it, that one
works. I change tracks in my Windows DAW, switch keyboards, work the
instance thing, change it, then change keyboards back to the Mk2 to
continue.

not working?

Re: KK S88MK2 and Pro Tools

2020-01-05 Thread Steve Matzura
In order to implement both those features would require the KK kb's use
HUI, which they don't. That's why the only control surface PT works with
well are the ones like the FaderPort. The KK kb's all use MCU Pro, which
PT does not support.

Everything you're describing is known as host integration by Native Instruments

switch track focus and instances with the controller in Pro Tools. Hope that

Does anyone here have bad experience with using cloud-only licences instead of
the USB iLok? Except for the obvious one that you’ll not be able to use your
DAW and plugins if your internet connection is down…..?

On 03 Jan 2020, at 05:04, Slau Halatyn wrote:

There are 3 main variables to iLok licensing as it relates to location and they

developers allow all three while some only allow one or two. The third
generation iLok can store at least 512 licenses if not more. I'd imagine
there's no theoretical maximum for computer activation slots. One disadvantage
with computer activation is that you have to remove all license activations if
you're formatting the drive. Apart from that, portability is a big factor for
some users.

It's always been $35.00 as long as I've been doing the yearly
subscription which has been for almost a year now.

Pro Tools 2019.6 - track list table

2020-01-05 Thread Martin (Punky) Sopart
Hello all!

When deselecting “Track List” under Menu/View/Other Displays, the track list
table still is displayed in the mix and edit windows.
Same when pressing the “Track List Show/Hide” buttons.

Is that a VoiceOver sees invisible objects thing or what did I missed here?

Best! / Martin

2020-01-05 Thread John Covici
I purchase the annual which happens to be usually on sale when I
purchase it for about $250 or so. I get it from Sweetwater which
usually has some financing deal, at least 6 months no interest and
sometimes more.

Quite frankly, I want to upgrade my iLok anyway, as I think I might have
the 1st generation. I know this as, when Ron gots his iLok, I felt his,

doesn't have the little protection cap over the USB end of the apparatus.

I got my iLok included in the box with the DVD's to my m-Audio Fast Tracks

got the ProTools 9 MPower bundle with the interface. This is why I'm
saying, I think I have the 1st gen. Also, it's already half full with
licenses I need, I do believe. If I remember this correctly, Slau, you or
someone else will have to confirm this, but didn't the 1st gens only give
you 100 assets? I'm already up to 40. So, yeah...

Re: Surprise surprise--subscriptions have gone up

2020-01-05 Thread Ronald J. Glaser
Steve, I am not sure about the monthly subscriptions; myself.
I am interested in this as well, I had to stop my monthly subscription because
I needed to pay a couple of bills. I need to get back into my monthly
subscription to ProTools.
Or would it be better to purchase ProTools out rate. And then pay the yearly
upgrade cost of the $99 a year?
