Re: Authorising Pro Tools

2012-02-29 Thread David Eagle
Just to add, I've now tried it in a PC. Straight away the computer
announces that it's found an ILok and is installing drivers. This is
done successfully. I then go to ILok.com and my ILok is found. But
when I go to the my licences link I only see the two Ivory licences
and no proTools. Installing Ivory on a PC with the ILok took me hardly
any time at all.

Well my ILok is inserted, I logged in to ILok.com. I am sure I was
informed that there was a new ILok that needed adding so I clicked the
add button. But now when I go on to ILok.com I get told that there are
no ILOks found, meaning that there are no ILoks inserted into the
computer, even though my Ilok is definitely in and I can see a light
 emanating from it.

I am not sure if I have installed the ILok software correctly since
the last time I tried to install it, I was told I had to go into some
mode that only ran Safari. When my computer restarted I was presented
 with a screen that I couldn't access.

I don't understand how you've all managed to get this thing installed.
 Any ideas?
 Thanks.

Thanks Chuck and Nick, I'll gmake sure the ILok is detected and
licences are displaying tonight. I have the information needed to
register but currently I just can't seem to authorise.

I'll let you know what happens. Thanks.

Hi, If you bought a boxed version of pro tools you don't need an ilok
account as the ilok you will have received will have the proper license
already on it so you should just be able to plug it in and run pro

just fine. This is what I did and things are working fine now. You
 will
need someone to help you enter in the serial numbers from the card that
came with the boxed version to register it with avid but you only need
 to
do this once and you should receive an email from avid that tells you
 you
registerd the program. Hope this helps. Nick Gawronski

I installed it successfully and updated it fine in order to use it on
Lion. It came with an Ilok that is apparently authorised. But when I
attempt to authorise using the Liscnce card option it fails and says
 that
there is no license on the ILok. I have to the best of my knowledge

 ILok
because there was nothing in the manual about having to do anything. I
already use an Ilok for Ivory and was hoping to be able to download a
licence on to that but the manual suggests that I need to use the
 authorised ILok.

Incidentally if I try to authorise with the alternative option to the
license card option I get something called a challenge which is a
 series
of random words. Goodness knows what that's all about.

 Any ideas?

Re: Authorising Pro Tools

Hi, I just installed pro tools 10 and it worked just fine but then again
I had bought the boxed version that came with an ilok so did not need to
create an ilok account or do anything else other then register pro tools
10 with avid. Did you buy a boxed version or download it and buy an
ilok? I did go to ilok.com and install the client software but as of
yet I don't have an ilok.com account and things are working just fine.
