Re: Import problem

Avid's official position is that High Sierra is not yet approved and they offer
no workaround at this time as it is not recommended. I'm thinking the next
release will support it.

If there really is no work around at the current time, and you need this to
work, you may have to roll the machine back to sierra. I had a tech ready to do
mine if the import problem did not go away.I was lucky it worked for me. I hope
it does not come back.
Good luck. what is avid saying about this on m post.Maybe there is a work
around. Let’s hope there is.

Yeah, the High Sierra compatibility is iffy. Using the current version of Pro
Tools has alleviated the problem for some but, again, since it hasn't been
approved yet, it's not guaranteed to work. Not sure what the alternative is,
given the technical incompatibility. I guess it's a lesson in paying close
attention to which OS is and isn't approved. If I think of or hear about any
workaround, I'll post it here.

SV: Import problem

2017-12-03 Thread Niklas Karlsson
Thank you all!

Sorry for another question:
I have an anual upgrade plan for Pro Tools, but when I went into ”My products &
subscriptions” on avid.com, it appeared that the plan was expired and that I
had to update my payment information.
I filled in the right information and it said that the update was successfull.
But I still can’t find a version higher than 12.7.1 in my download links.
Any ideas on what to do? 

Best,
Niklas

Hey Niklas,
Most likely the problem is that you have updated your system to Mac OS High
Sierra. In any case you are using a version of ProTools that’s too old for the
operating system you are running. I believe Avid hasn’t officially approved
High Sierra yet, but if you update to the latest ProTools version (12.8.2)
things should mostly work fine. If you are not on High Sierra I would still
recommend that you update ProTools, which will most likely solve the issue.

Importing audio has worked fine before and I have no idea why PT suddendly
shows this.
I’ve tried to manually reinstall PT but the same message appears anyway.

If someone has any idea on how to solve this problem I would greatly appreciate

Re: Import problem

2017-12-02 Thread Niklas Karlsson
Thank you so much!
That's most likely the case since I recently updated to High Sierra.

I've looked for a solution for this for several days now and didn't thought of
this at all. :)

Thank you again!

Best,
Niklas

Hey Niklas,
Most likely the problem is that you have updated your system to Mac OS High
Best,

IC

Import problem

2017-12-02 Thread Niklas Karlsson
Hi all,

Hope all is great!

I recently started working on a session in which I want to import an audio file.
But when I press CMD-Shift-I to bring up the import audio dialog, the following
message appears:
Could not complete the Import Audio command because Assertion in
"/Volumes/Development/200028/ProTools/NewFileLibs/Cfd/MacOS/Cfd_ImportAudioDialogMacOS.mm",
 line 603.

(Use the Copy button to copy this message to the clipboard.)

Importing audio has worked fine before and I have no idea why PT suddendly
shows this.
I've tried to manually reinstall PT but the same message appears anyway.

If someone has any idea on how to solve this problem I would greatly appreciate
it!

Thanks in advance!

All the best!

Niklas

More About My Audio Import Problem

2014-12-31 Thread TL
Hi again: it seems that my import issue is related to the external drive. It's
a Firewire 800 drive (2TB), with two partitions. One partition is formatted for
the Mac, and has Yosemite on it, and the other partition is XFFat so I can use
it with both the Mac and Windows. Its the XFFat partition that causes the
error, but the import works fine from the other partition. Funny that PT 10
doesn't have the same issue.

Re: More About My Audio Import Problem

2014-12-31 Thread TheOreoMonster
PT manual says that drives for use with PT should be FW and formatted in the
mac HFS format. So this may be your issue. It seems to be more picky about the
file system than whether the drive is USB or FW though inoticed as i been using
WUSB drives with no issues.

Re: More About My Audio Import Problem

2014-12-31 Thread TL
Hi OreoMonster, yes, I'm sure that's it … odd that PT 10 works but PT 11
doesn't. First App on the Mac I've come across that couldn't handle the drive …
