Re: Midi help needed

2017-01-11 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Joy,
Well, to an extent, you can transpose within the Edit window as long as the
selected note pitch within the Counter Display cluster is double-clicked. You
can then press any key on your MIDI keyboard to change the pitch. The Transpose
window does retain your previous settings so you can pretty quickly bring up
the Transpose window as well. But regarding notes vs. clips, when using tab
commands along with modifiers, it is necessary to switch between notes and
clips when you want to edit one over the other. Hope that makes sense.
Best,
Slau

Slau,
thanks for the tipp. Will do that and see how things work.
I hope you don't mind me asking another, related, question...or two. *smile*
When in notes.view, is it still possible to select clips?
I found out that you can move, or nudge, individual midi notes while in the
note-view, but can you also transpose from the edit window?

Hi Joy,
One thing I forgot to mention was that you should make sure your track view is
set to Notes rather than clips. If your tracks are set to at least medium
height, since you're using Flo Tools, you can simply focus on the track in the
Mix window and double-tap w to bring up the track view selector and make sure
Notes is checked in the list.

Re: Midi help needed

2017-01-10 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Joy,

On occasion, when working with MIDI or Instrument tracks, the focus gets lost a
bit and it might be necessary to close and reopen the session or, if that
doesn't do it, quit and relaunch Pro Tools. Most of the time, however, as long
as the track and an edit range are selected, things work smoothly. Sometimes I
also find it helpful to have an audio track showing for the purpose of moving
the insertion point to it and then back to the instrument track and that
sometimes is all it takes to restore the focus.
HTH,
Slau
