Yep, you probably did something wrong because it's impossible for the macro to
be active if you've excluded it. Let's take it off list and I'll help you sort
it out.

Hey Slau. Sorry to be a pain. How ever I followed the steps, and it would seem
that flo mouse is still happening. because when I open garage band I’m still
getting a mouse on and off when I hit command slash. I’m quite happy to except
I did not do it correctly. But I think I did. IT actually said Garage band
disabled. I went back in to available except in these applications and VO left
and right arrowed around and garage band is the application it tells me it’s
there, It says disabled, is this correct. So I quit keyboard maestro, and
rebooted my computer. But command slash still says mouse on mouse off in G B.
Is there something i’m still doing wrong, or something else I should try.
I really appreciate your help on this. As I say it’s quite possible i did
something wrong.

OK, do the following:

Launch the Keyboard Maestro Editor.
Under the View menu, if you see an item that says, "Start Editing Macros,"
select it. If the menu item says, "Stop Editing Macros," you're good to go.
Press VO J and you should hear something like, "In Macro Groups scroll area"
and you might hear some additional info.
Navigate with VoiceOver right arrow to the Flo Mouse macro group.
Double-click the macro group with VO Shift Space Bar twice.
This puts you into the Macro edit Detail area and the name of the macro group
will be selected.
Navigate with VO Right Arrow until you get to the pop-up button that says,
"Available in All Applications."
Click this button and select "Available Except in These Applications."
Navigate with VoiceOver to the Add Application button and press it. A menu of
currently open applications will appear. If Garage Band is there, select it.
Otherwise, choose "Other" and navigate the browser to find the Garage Band
application and select it.
Now Flo Mouse will work in all applications except Garage Band. To add Logic,
if you want, click the Add Application button to add another application.
HTH,
Slau

Re: strange question maybe off topic

2019-04-07 Thread Slau Halatyn
It has nothing to do with Keyboard Maestro. You simply have a conflict between
the shortcut assigned to enable flo Mouse and the built-in shortcut in Garage
Band. As I mentioned earlier, you can change the shortcut for flo Mouse to
whatever you want or, and perhaps it's a better idea, change the flo Mouse
macro group's preference to work in all applications except Garage band and/or
Logic. If you want me to spell out how to do that, let me know.

Command Slash is not a Flo Tools command. It's a Flo Mouse command. You
needn't have uninstalled Flo Tools. Flo Tools only works in Pro Tools and
Pro Tools First (to an extent). You can change the shortcut for enabling
and disabling Flo Mouse. Choosing an alternative shortcut isn't easy as
there's a finite number of shortcuts available that don't interfere with
 other applications, etc. HTH,

Actually I’ve sussed out command slash toggles mouse on and off. But it makes
no difference. I’m getting the word text, and all sorts of messages depending
what window i’m in, any thing from midi widgets to all sorts of things. Also
sometimes if I VO left arrow I’m asked if i want to rename the control. i did
rename one, and it then comes up with the name of what ever I called it and
then the message. I’m wondering if this has something to do with flo mouse and
if it can be uninstalled. I can’t find it in applications. only flo num pad.
or could it be a keyboard maestro issue some sort of conflict. . Could this be
an operating system issue. or should I uninstall keyboard maestro and see if it
goes away and reinstall. If there are no suggestions, I’ll just give it up as a
bad joke for now. Thanks to all who have assisted me with this

Definitely a bit strange as I still have Flo mouse installed and no longer have
the issue.

 Hey Rene,

Can you confirm if you have VO hints turned on or not? I remember when I
noticed this most people I knew never saw the issue. When I thought
figured out hints was causing it I was never able to confirm if the ones
who never saw it disabled VO hints.

Hey guys I know this is a strange one. But out of interest lately i’ve
been playing around with garage band with a view to maybe purchasing
logic, as i wanted to play around with some looping stuff. how ever my
studio machine gives me a lot of strange messages when I run it and i
wonder if it may have something to do with flo tools being installed or a
 keyboard maestro issue.
Basically i’m getting a message saying the midi area is decided into two
groups, and for more information press command slash. When I do this I get
the message mouse on, which i think is a flo tools command. So I
uninstalled flo tools through the uninstaller package to see if it made
any difference, but still getting the messages. It’s basically unusable.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this might be happening and if it
could be possibly be related to flo tools or keyboard maestro. If so is
there a work around, so I can play around with garage band.

If there is no work around, then i’ll just ditch this idea, as I have no
wish to not be using flo tools. Thanks guys for any thoughts.

Hey Slau. can I uninstall flo mouse, or is there a way round this if the
shortcut is hard to change. I actually Don’t remember installing flo mouse, or
was it a part of the flo tools install.I don’t really know if I need it. .

ok that’s great to know. an interesting question. What operating system are you
running on your mac. I’m running hi sierra here.
I wonder if it’s a garage band issue. i’d be quite happy to install logic,
actually The only thing stopping me is whether I’m going to get this message in
logic. i wonder if i’m going to have to do a full reformat and reinstall of my
system.

Re: strange question maybe off topic

2019-04-07 Thread Steve Martin
I noticed the same issue in both GarageBand and Logic. Disabling Hints did
eventually fix the problem. It wasn’t fixed immediately after turning hints off
though but I am not aware of any other system changes I made but the issue did
go away, just. Not right away.

Re: strange question maybe off topic

2019-04-07 Thread Slau Halatyn
Command Slash is not a Flo Tools command. It's a Flo Mouse command. You needn't
have uninstalled Flo Tools. Flo Tools only works in Pro Tools and Pro Tools
First (to an extent). You can change the shortcut for enabling and disabling
Flo Mouse. Choosing an alternative shortcut isn't easy as there's a finite
number of shortcuts available that don't interfere with other applications,
etc. HTH,
Slau

Hi Steve,
I even run Protools with Flotools! So no idea what the problem could be. Of
course I do have Garageband on my Mac, but because I use Logic, Garageband
is never used actually...

Vo Hints is turned off

Hey Rene,

Can you confirm if you have VO hints turned on or not? I remember when I
noticed this most people I knew never saw the issue. When I thought figured
out hints was causing it I was never able to confirm if the ones who never
saw it disabled VO hints.

Hey guys I know this is a strange one. But out of interest lately i’ve been
playing around with garage band with a view to maybe purchasing logic, as i
wanted to play around with some looping stuff. how ever my studio machine
gives me a lot of strange messages when I run it and i wonder if it may
have something to do with flo tools being installed or a keyboard maestro
issue.
Basically i’m getting a message saying the midi area is decided into two
groups, and for more information press command slash. When I do this I get
the message mouse on, which i think is a flo tools command. So I
uninstalled flo tools through the uninstaller package to see if it made any
difference, but still getting the messages. It’s basically unusable. Does
anyone have any thoughts as to why this might be happening and if it could
be possibly be related to flo tools or keyboard maestro. If so is there a
work around, so I can play around with garage band.

If there is no work around, then i’ll just ditch this idea, as I have no
wish to not be using flo tools. Thanks guys for any thoughts.

Re: strange question maybe off topic

2019-04-07 Thread Steve Martin
Did you try disabling VO hints? I seem to remember an issue where the hints
were visible on screen and that was what was causing issues like that. That
being said you may have to restart or something after disabling. As I don’t
remember it clearing out immediately upon just disabling hints. I didn’t have
FloTOols installed at the time when I noticed it on a freshly installed
machine. I assume you are still on High Sierra? I remember seeing it there but
don’t recall if I did when I did a clean install of Mojave.
