There is nothing of such a program, otherwise you have written a shellscript called qmail-restart. To start qmail you have to start such other programms like splogger, qmail-start, ... The best you kill all the processes you have started in the stop- part. To see what is started after the startingscript type ps aux|grep qmail The best tool for creating a system-start-stop-script is using webmin. Here you have a special site for creating such things. vmailmgr as source-tarball
Hi, I try to setup the administration-tool omail for qmailadministration. The nessesary wmailmgr was an rpmfile with included php. After installation I havn't found that in the correct directory. I'm going crazy to understand why This problem doesn't exist if i send a mail trough qmail-inject.. The curious thing is that if I put in the FROM field an external address, qmail is able to send-out the error message whitout any problem!!! it must be a problem of the local delivery. If I try to connect with telnet to port 25 it barfs with a Connection closed by foreign host. message and if a send a message from another system never arrives. First make a telnet from an other host within the same subnet to the host with malefunction smtp (port 25). If you can't make a telnetsession to it, the problem must be on the host. If there is no problem you should have a look into your firewallconfiguration. Possible you have disabled smtp in the rule good-dmz and/or bad-dmz. Hi, You were already advised to read the docs. That's a standardtext. Qmails qmail-smtpd has no idea about local users. That's right. A programm itself is not so intelligent to find what the user mean, but for that are the configfiles. I'm sure you can define the delivery for localdomains / -host in a file under /var/qmail/control. The mailaccounts will be handle in a databasefile of qmail. For translating the /etc/passwd into the plaintext-userfile there is mentioned the command in the lwq. Hi Evelyne, There is no mail arrival notice while the message would show up in $HOME/Mailbox! What seems to be the problem? check /var/qmail/control/defaultdelivery if the right deliveryform is set. After it check if you set the rights for the mailbox/maildir properly. Check the logfile about activities on your mailserver. If all above is ok and you only want informed that the mail was delivered correctly or be read by the receiving user you should set the nessesary option in your mua. Test the delivery by using qmail-inject and sending a mail to the email-account. Use telent mailserver 110 to test if you can receive the mail by authenticating you on the server and retrieve the mail with the command retr [No.]. Hi, we have on a mailserver in our headquarter a mailaccount with permant forwarding to our subdomain for constance. When I send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] the mail went out to the relaying server (mail.internolix.com) and will there be forwarded. The acknowledge-entry from our mailserver (mail.kn.internolix.com) in the logfile on mail.internolix.com isbad user. Hi, I have installed the qmail via the Tutorial life with qmail. Qmail have I started using the /var/boot/home by copying into /var/qmail and renamed to rc. The test with qmail-inject have worked fine, lokaly and remote. But If I send a mail via smtp to the testuser on the localmashine in the logfile there is an entrylocal @mail.kn.internolix.com What have I missconfigured and must be fixed. Hi, how can I create a file .qmail. In different Pages for qmail is mentioned that you have to edit the .qmail. I havn't found such file. Where can I find a manpage for dot-qmail, because the manpage isn't install on my host. how do I install the qmail-virusscanner
Hi, is there a good tutorial to install the qmail-scanner. The page linked in qmail.org contents only the requirements and the patch QMAILQUEUE. By replacing qmail-queue after the lines mentioned in the page the setup stops with an error that it could not find QMAILQUEUE. Which files must to be edit to find QMAILQUEUE? No qmail in /var/qmail/bin
Hi, I have the problem when I download the qmail-1.03 tarball and install qmail with make setup check I can't found the programm qmail in /var/qmail/bin. This file is nessesary for the startscript. The unpacking of the tarball and the installation I have made diffent times. How can I do the installation and can be sure that the file qmail will be generated.
