Has anyone seen this before? I'm stumped!

You'll need to make the /root dir writable also for it to work.

RE: [qmailtoaster] qmailctl stat reveals spamd not running | error found with spamassassin -D --lint

2005-11-10 Thread Ron Jones
I checked the /root/.spamassassin directory and... there IS a bayes
 directory there.

also, the .spamassassin directory (and all sub-items) is owned by
 vpopmail:vchkpw

You'll need to make the /root dir writable also for it to work.

I checked this, the /root dir is 777, as well as the .spamassassin dir
Within .spamassassin, bayes was a directory, so I made it a file and changed
the permission to 666 (along with bayes_* as well)

Now Spamassassin --lint gives me no errors.

However, qmailctl stat shows no spamd running, just the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# qmailctl stat
clamd: up (pid 3694) 4 seconds
imap4: up (pid 3697) 4 seconds
imap4-ssl: up (pid 3713) 4 seconds
pop3: up (pid 3741) 4 seconds
pop3-ssl: up (pid 3688) 4 seconds
send: up (pid 3729) 4 seconds
smtp: up (pid 3723) 4 seconds
clamd/log: up (pid 3689) 4 seconds
imap4/log: up (pid 3699) 4 seconds
imap4-ssl/log: up (pid 3719) 4 seconds
pop3/log: up (pid 3733) 4 seconds
pop3-ssl/log: up (pid 3700) 4 seconds
send/log: up (pid 3709) 4 seconds
smtp/log: up (pid 3726) 4 seconds
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]#

Thanks,
Ron

[qmailtoaster] SimScan ver. 1.2

2005-11-10 Thread Massimiliano
Hi there ! My name is Max and I'm posting from Italy . I'm about to
(hopefully !!) replace a very very old Exchange Server 5.5 in my company
which is serving about 30 user since 1998 and I think that it's now
time to put it on a corner ! My intention is to move to a linux-based
system . That's why I first installed a fedora Core4 distro on a brand
new HP server and then , following the great guides found at
www.qmailtoaster.com , the qmail-toaster itself ! Everything went fine
and I can say that in about 2 hours I was in front of a 100% working new
mail server ! Obviously , before turning off the main MTA , I'm deeply
testing qmail in order not to get bad surprises ! This post is to ask
you if someone has already tried to install and use the new beta SimScan
1.2 . Like many other questions already posted , I'd like to have the
possibility to reject specific attachements or , even better ,
immediately delete spam e-mails instead of just tagging them with a
**SPAM** flag ! I've already read the old topics of this mailing list
but I didn't find what I'm looking for !

Any suggestions ?
Best regards and many many thanks in advance !
Max

[qmailtoaster] Several Problems with Toaster on Mandriva 2006.0

2005-11-10 Thread Nigel Reed
Greets all,

First posting here and I'd like to report a few problems that I've had
installing and running various Toaster programs on Mandriva 2006.0

First of all qmail-toaster will needs to be changed so that it Provides
sendmail-command

It seems they changed all the mail clients and friends to use
sendmail-command rather than either MTA or smtpdaemon

They also changed how apache is configured. control-panel-toaster will
not longer build since apache2-common is no longer provided. httpd.conf
is now provided by apache-conf

Also, http2.conf and commonhttpd.conf are now merged into one httpd.conf
file.

The toaster.conf file should probably go into the webapps.d directory
for sake of standardization.

qmailmrtg does not show images. When I view the page, I get the
following link for the image...

http://www.nelgin.nu/stats-toaster/bytes-day.png

Now, stats-toaster is redirected to /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/mrtg/
via the alias. however all the images are in /usr/share/toaster/mrtg.
That said, I don't think the problem lies there. If I run index.php
through the cli I get an error

PHP Notice: Undefined variable: html in /usr/share/toaster/htdocs/mrtg/index.
php on line 27

FWIW: Mandriva 2006.0 uses php 5 (5.0.4 is the current version)

Line 27: $html = sprintf(%s\n%sbr, $html, $buffer );

Finally, I cannot get either imap4 or pop3-ssl to authenticate using
either the password file or via a vpopmail domain. To verify vpopmail
works properly I installed qmailadmin and was able to login as the
postmaster, so I know that vpopmail is fine. There is nothing in the
/var/log/qmail/imap4/current log to indicate any sort of problem with
the modules

@40004373619030086cc4 LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=[127.0.0.1], command=LOGIN
@4000437361903008881c LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=[127.0.0.1],
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
@400043736190300893d4 LOGIN: DEBUG: ip=[127.0.0.1],
password=testpw
@400043736195301322f4 ERR: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[127.0.0.1]

While I'm at it, Mandrake/Mandriva usually installs any web based files
in /var/www/html which I would rather see than using /usr/share/toaster.
That way all my website docs are in one place rather than being spread
around. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I know I can change them at a
later date, but it's a pain since the paths are hard coded into the
files.

That's all for now. Other than that, what a great project.

Regards
Nigel

2005-11-10 Thread Nick Hemmesch
 Greets all,

Hi Nigel,

We do not officially support Mandriva 2006.0 yet. I do have a test machine
that runs 2006.0 i586 perfectly but I still have some problems with our
spamassassin-toaster package 2006.0 x86_64.

I have been out of town for a week and have a zillion things to catchup
on. I hope to finish the fixes and testing over the weekend.

Mandriva 2006.0 looks good.

Regards,

Nick

2005-11-10 Thread Nick Hemmesch
Do /var/qmail/supervise/spamd/run ~/log/run exist?

 Nick,

That's the darnedest thing... /var/qmail/supervise/spamd does not exist.

 Here's what I got:

 [EMAIL PROTECTED] supervise]# /var/qmail/supervise/spamd/run ~/log/run
 exist?
 [1] 9265
-bash: /var/qmail/supervise/spamd/run: No such file or directory
-bash: /root/log/run: No such file or directory
 [1]+ Exit 127/var/qmail/supervise/spamd/run

Hi Ron,

Do this: rpm -e spamassassin-toaster

Download a fresh source rpm from our site and install it again. Let me
know how it goes.

Regards,

Nick

Hi Erik,

Thanks, I'll download it and use it for the latest distros. I do have both
Mandriva 2006.0 and openSuSE 10.0 very close to being stable solutions.

Thanks,

Nick

[qmailtoaster] I need help with an auto-login process

2005-11-10 Thread Joseph Lundgren
Greetings,

I've been trying to make an external link from our Plesk server farm
automatically login to the qmailadmin utility. The URL I've been trying
to use includes all of the POST variables that I would think I'd need,
but it's giving me an error:

Only one person can log in as system postmaster at one time. Someone
else has logged in. Please only have one login at a time.

The URL is:

http://mail.domain.com/qmailadmin/index.cgi/com/showmenu?user=postmaster
dom=domain.compassword=password

Do you folks know any way to have a user enter a URL that will log the
user in to the qmailadmin application without them having to enter any
further authentication credentials?

Sincerely,
