[qmailtoaster] Attachment farwarding problem

I am facing a peculiar with qmail-toaster.we r not able to farward emails 
having attachments but i can farward emails without attachments at the same 
time i am not able to access some email accounts using webmail.when i try to 
access those accounts suddenly i get a page cannot be displayed message.this 
happens only to some accounts only.

You can review or find it  if in your DNS server is running Bind or Djbdns
(systems to implement a DNS Servers)
This registry in a *Type: TXT  on your DNS server*


If you run BIND  Copy and Paste and change values into your zone file
(create Zone) on /var/named/yourdomain.com.zone:

yourdomain.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ptr mx:mail.yourdomain.com ~all"

So this should also appear in DNS. You may or may not be in charge of
the DNS for these entries; if you are, add them. Copy and paste and change

I've been working on a new update/install script that will likely be
released next week. I'm out of town this week, and didn't want to release
it without being readily available to assist with any troubleshooting that
might be required.

The new script is very robust. It builds the binary rpms in a 'sandbox'
(chroot jail), so it doesn't impact a running environment, and down time
is minimized (<10 minutes on a P-II/266). Dependency problems can be
identified and resolved before any updates are applied. Additionally, in
theory, the upgraded sandbox (chroot jail) could be used to do testing
too, although that has yet to be proven.

[qmailtoaster] Qmailadmin/Authlib Install problems

Greetings,

Just finished doing an install on a fully patched CentOS box. All seems to 
be working except Qmailadmin and authlib.

When I log in to the qmailadmin interface as "postmaster" for a domain 
I've added, I have no items on the menu except the quickjump window (i.e., 
no add users, forwards, mailing lists, etc. options appear).

Also, when I run qmailctl stat, authlib and authlib log are missing from 
the list of running procs.

I've followed the detailed instructions in the CentOS install document, 
and I saw no errors while the install script was building and installing 
the RPMs.

Any suggestions for running these issues down would be greatly 
appreciated.

Sounds like you need to put together one of :
(a) another machine
(b) a Xen virtual machine
(c) a VMWare virtual machine (I recommend this one)

with the same qmt configuration as your production machine and try the
upgrades there first.

As the vmware player is free (as in beer) from
http://www.vmware.com/download/player/ and there is a qmt appliance
available, you might want to go that route.  That way you discover the
problems before you upgrade and will be ready to cope with them easily
on the production server.

Yup I agree qmt is great and i would hate having to build another 
sendmail again :) I would also have preferred to do it during the 
weekend but people work on the system 24/7 regardless of what time with 
more or less the same amount of people always on so it don't really 
matter when I do a upgrade.

bugger gave me endless of sh*t odd really, well I read the wiki on doing 
an upgrade which recommends using the install script which is in my case 
is fc4 I followed everything to the letter but still the same problems, 
fustrating since QMT is really brilliant, would be cool if upgrades also 
was just as smooth as the day to day running of qmt.

I had the same issue as you "File not found by glob" I believe this 
is due to some packages is not being installed that's why it shows u the 
message.


Maybe you should check through the installed list of packages.

/usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/courier-imap-toaster*.rp

regardless of how I try to resolv it I don't get it to build and install the
packages, becuase of that this package don't get install things like imap
and pop3s wont work, anyone has any idea of how to solve this?

[qmailtoaster] Install problems

Hello List,

WHen I try to install qmt I get the following error:
Installing courier-imap-toaster-4.1.1-1.3.2.src.rpm
error: Failed build dependencies:
courier-authlib-toaster is needed by
courier-imap-toaster-4.1.1-1.3.2.i386
error: File not found by glob:
/usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/courier-imap-toaster*.rp

I have had the "MySQL Server has gone away..." problem with OpenSuSE 10.1. I 
think, the problem is, that mysql >= 5 does not automatically reconnect after the 
connection has been timed out. The following setting in /etc/my.cnf solved the problem for 
me:

It would be better to connect to MySQL in a different way: As described in the 
Documentation of mysql_options(), at 
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/mysql-options.html MYSQL_OPT_RECONNECT should be 
set to true: "Enable or disable automatic reconnection to the server if the 
connection is found to have been lost. Reconnect has been off by default since MySQL 
5.0.3; this option is new in 5.0.13 and provides a way to set reconnection behavior 
explicitly."

I currently do not have time to create a patch, but if someone could provide me 
with an patch against the latest toaster-version I could recompile and test it.

Ok I am responding to my self now :)

The whole problem was that when I got back into the office this morning 
after having initiated the upgrade script was that I hit a key on the 
keyboard which stopped the upgrade script and from there on out shit hit 
the fan, is there not a chance that the upgrade script could ask if you 
want to automatically upgrade all packages or manually choose what 
packages to upgrade during the start of the script? would make life so 
much easier.

You page is timeout when you try to get your messages.
You need to change your time out on your webpage or on you webmail go to
options and change Mails per page to 20.

only.



   but the same large accounts open perfectly in
outlook..recently i upgraded qmail toaster from old version to new version.
