You should probably use the vadddomain command for setting up virtual domains.

There were some compatibility issues with vqadmin and quotas. I'm not
familiar with the specifics, as I don't use vqadmin. See
http://devel.qmailtoaster.com/faq.html#vqadmin

Erik did create a patched version of vqadmin-toaster which supports valias.
See http://devel.qmailtoaster.com/

Good luck.

Im still having some issues with this.

I set myself up a yahoo email address and tried to get my password

The email was received at the other email account just fine, however not
for the account on the toaster.

After some investigation, I found the same issue that I originally

If you care to use domainkeys (which yahoo does), follow the directions

 That's interesting. When I set up domainkeys on my machine, I used my

 Have you set up anything on the toaster that's dk related? I would

 apparently that's not the case.

 Please show us your tcp.smtp, and # rpm -qa | grep toaster.

Eric Shubes wrote:

I don't know how you might bring encrypted passwords over.

You might be able to dump the encrypted passwords from the old system,
then use native SQL to update them into the database once the users
have been added (with whatever new temporary password). I don't know
if that'd work or not, so I'd test it out first before committing to
that route.

It might be simplest just to give everyone a new password. That's a
call you'll need to make.

After looking some more, it appears the vadduser command from vpopmail
has an option, -e, to pass an encrypted password. vadduser from
vmailmgr has the same option but it is to set the expiration date on the
account.

Thanks for your help, Eric. I posting this to help out folks in the
future. Here is the script I intend on using to migrate from vmailmgr
to vpopmail. Beware, this is stream of conscious coding and it has not
been tested (much):

#!/bin/bash
#listvdomain=`listvdomain -a` # for aliases
finish=/tmp/vmail2vpoplist
listvdomain=listvdomain -u  # for users
dumpvuser=./dumpvuser
out=/tmp/vmailmigrate
out2=/tmp/vmailmigrate2
$listvdomain  $out
list=`awk '{print $1}' $out`
for userinfo in $list; do
   if [ $userinfo = User ]; then continue; fi
   if [ $userinfo = 'Mailbox' ] ; then continue; fi
   if [ $userinfo = 'Aliases' ] ; then continue; fi
   $dumpvuser $userinfo  $out2
   tmp=`awk '/Encrypted-Password/ {print ENVIRON[userinfo] $2}'
$out2`

   echo $userinfo $tmp  $finish
done

EOF

The above will format the users/pass so you can use this command to
import into the vpopmail server:

awk 'system(vadduser -e $2 [EMAIL PROTECTED])' /tmp/vmail2vpoplist

I have not tested the second command. One need not use awk to parse the list
file.

I hope this helps someone out as I have not found any scripts to migrate
vmailmgr to vpopmail available on the internet.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmail Toaster as Exchange MTA

2006-08-14 Thread Erik Espinoza

You can create an alias for each user in the qmailtoaster. The best
way to do that would be to use the command line interface to handle
this.

So you have two boxes with the following DNS (can be replaced with anything):

qmail.domain.com
exchange.domain.com

Point MX to qmail.domain.com

Create alias for each [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Make sure that the exchange server is setup to accept mail for
domain.com as primary, but can accept for exchange.domain.com for all
users.

That should take care of it.

2006-08-14 Thread Dan Herbon
I guess you can also try decreasing your SPF behavior from the default 3 to
1 and restart qmail. This might help it.

/var/qmail/control/spfbehavior

Hi Guys

Im still having some issues with this.

I set myself up a yahoo email address and tried to get my password
conformation etc sent to my account at my toaster and another account.

The email was received at the other email account just fine, however not
for the account on the toaster.

After some investigation, I found the same issue that I originally
reported. It shows up in the SMTP log, but doesn't get delivered to the
mailbox.

Since it's working now, I suppose that's the important thing.

If you care to use domainkeys (which yahoo does), follow the directions
on
the wiki, and see if that doesn't solve your problem.

 That's interesting. When I set up domainkeys on my machine, I used my
yahoo
 email to test and receive from my toaster, and everything worked ok,
 including groups.

 Have you set up anything on the toaster that's dk related? I would
expect
 incoming dk checking to work ok without setting up keys for outbound,
but
 apparently that's not the case.

 Please show us your tcp.smtp, and # rpm -qa | grep toaster.

Like Dan mentioned on another thread, try throttling SPF back to 1
(/var/qmail/control/spfbehavior) from 3. I wasn't sure if SPF checking
happens before or after simscan, but I *do* know that you won't see a log
entry anywhere when there's an SPF rejection. This is a real deficiency
(imho), not having SPF rejections logged. We should look into getting this
fixed (even if SPF isn't the cause of this problem).

[qmailtoaster] Install problems

2006-08-14 Thread Joshua Hopkins

This is a new install on a new server. I am currently
running toaster as a mail gateway for my exchange server on a very old computer
that is starting to have hardware problems. I have come to a dead stop in
the install process and am not sure what to look for. I am using CentOS
4.3 standard install for QT. Everything seems to be in order and I get no
errors until I go to run cnt40-svcs.sh. When trying to run cnt40-svcs.sh I
get the following:

 standard install for QT. Everything seems to be in order and I get no

 errors until I go to run cnt40-svcs.sh. When trying to run
 cnt40-svcs.sh I get the following:

Any ideas about this part?

You have a problem with mysql.

Oh, I guess you knew that. :)

I'm guessing that your mysql password got set with a trailing cr when you
ran it before fixing the file. I'm not sure how you'd log in using a
password with a trailing cr, in order to change it. I would simply try
removing mysql (use rpm -e --nodeps if necessary) and re-install it. I'm
guessing that might fix it. Then just rerun the script.

RE: [qmailtoaster] spam filtering proxy, pass-through

2006-08-14 Thread Ron Jones
Finally,

I've got my qmailtoaster box set up as the mail server for company2.com I
can send and receive, all is well.

I've also got the same qmailtoaster box set up to take inbound mail that is
destined for company1.com and pass it along to the exchange server. It has
also been tested... Mail is sent from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and things seem to work fine.

Now... What do I need to do to make sure that the qmailtoaster box takes the
incoming mail that is destined for company1.com and washes it free of spam
and viruses?

Once the configuration is completed... are there tests I can run to verify
that it is happening?

Yes!

Step 1, add an smtproute domain.com:exchange.domain.com, add domain to
rcpthosts Step 2, point dns to qmailtoaster Step 3, create
/var/qmail/control/doublebouncehost and doublebounceto and fill this out

Done

 Sorry, what I should have said (more clearly) was

 The exchange box is separate unto itself (SBS 2003), the qmailtoaster
 box, though separate, is on the same LAN. Currently, I have
 mail.company1.com hosted on the exchange box, and mail.company2.com
 hosted on the qmailtoaster box.

 What I'd like to do is use the qmailtoaster box as a spam-filtering,
 virus killing proxy for company1, and continue to host the mail for
company 2.

 Is this possible?

 Not without virtualization. QmailToaster doesn't run on XP Server.

  Is it possible to set up QmailToaster as a spam-filtering proxy for
