Re: [qmailtoaster] empf patch (Off Topic)

A M:
Thanks! You're right, with authentication enabled everything works fine. I
have to give a shot to the compile option, becouse I have 200 clients
configured without smtp-auth (they are users inside a company).
I'll post the results of the recompilation.

Natalio.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmailtoaster on Fedora 8

2007-11-19 Thread Erik A. Espinoza
As I said before, the 1.4 branch will have source rpm's, of course. As
mentioned in the earlier e-mail

"2) The source distribution will be simpler in the rpm style, and
should compile more easily on any distribution

The bad side of #2 is that you will have to handle dependencies and
updates on your own. I will work with anyone to provide such things to
the community, but will not be doing the master list (IE wiki support
only)."

When I say source distribution here, I mean src.rpm.

Thanks,
Erik

Re: [qmailtoaster] Anyone install squirreloutlook?

2007-11-19 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi,

Yes, I missed with it for a few hours and the problems kept on cropping up. I
could clearly see the path issues but every fix I tried didn't work. For
example, at times, it wanted to see the images in /var/www/html/images, so I
even copied all of the images to that directory and still, same error. This
went on and on.

It's a nice looking interface, I'd like to use it. I should mention as I think
about it that it was *only* the left window which would never display. The
main window was always fine. Perhaps I could get a copy of someone else's
config, maybe I can decipher from that.

I've emailed him but have not seen a reply. The price is fine, the
problem is that it's for 6 months of updates. Again, not a problem but
it's not clear if that means another full payment in 6 months if I

Re: [qmailtoaster] empf patch (Off Topic)

2007-11-19 Thread A M
Hi,

Natalio I've replied in the empf list... dindn't see this one.

check it

As for information:

The policy patch by default enforces auth in every smtp, so only
authenticated users can send email.

This can be change in the conf file for the policies prior to compile but IS
NOT recomended has it may invalidate the policy check routine.

Depending on what rules you're loading, yes. If you have added all
kinds of extra rules, or are using the sa-learn functions and not
cleaning up after it then this is normal.
You have to remember that for every message that comes in, a spamd
process has to be created to process it. And each spamd process will
load all of the rules into memory. That's why it's better to block the
messages at the SMTP level - so you're not creating spamd processes and
hogging resources every time a message comes in.

send-emails-toaster is an old (and broken) package that allowed you to
send a message to everyone on your server at once. Qmail is just another
mailer like sendmail, Matter of fact it has a program called sendmail
that allows programs that only use sendmail to still send emails (that's
a simplified answer).
Without seeing any errors or having any other information we can't
answer much more than that. Does your PHP program use SMTP-AUTH, or is
it just trying to dump emails to php's mail?

that means another full payment in 6 months if I needed an update because
squirrlemail made some changes for example. That would bring the price up to
some $60.00/year per server. It's just not clear what he wants or how often
squirrelmail changes so that I would need updates.

For your $35, if Squirrelmail releases a new version in 3 months, you
get it. Next year when they release a new version, you'd need to pay
$35 to get an updated copy of his skin (and receive 6 months of updates
again). You don't HAVE to, unless you're one of those people that has
to install every patch that comes out. The changes that Squirrelmail
makes will not automatically appear on your machine and break your
webmail. Only you can do that.
$60 or $70 a year is not a deterrent in my opinion. If you're running
your entire business and paying all of your bills off of the efforts of
the people that support open source, why not give a little back? They
all have bills to pay as well. AND they help out at a "digital feeding
kitchen". Always feeding, but never getting much in return except for
complaints (there are the occasional thank-yous in there). You could
always hire someone to code a nice interface for you, or purchase
Exchange as well.

[qmailtoaster] exttodo patch/qmail-todo

2007-11-19 Thread Daniel Dekok
Anyone got this working under a qmailtoaster setup?

I've got the patch compiling cleaning, and edited the spec file so its
created in the rpm and installs as it should, and once the I restart qmail
the qmail-todo programs running, but i'm unable to get any decent logging,
and i'm not sure if its actually processing the incoming queue. It also
seems to complain about being unable to unlink files in the local directory
of the queue.

Probably shouldn't be testing this out on a production system, but thats all
i've got.

If people are interested, I can probably get a copy of my amended exttodo
patch (its mostly just line changes so it patches cleanly after the other
rpm patches are applied) and spec file online.

If people arn't sure what the patch is about, its supposedly to fix the
silly qmail syndrome, as expained here:

Re: [qmailtoaster] Mi servidor rechaza mis envíos

Ese error te lo esta dando la RBL , o sea el chequeo contra las listas negras.
Esa ip que intentas enviarle esta en lista negra.

[qmailtoaster] send-mail-toaster

2007-11-19 Thread roy mangapul
hi guys...

I have install qmailtoaster ,but I also use my server
as portal server but after I install qmailtoaster, my
send-mail program from PHP couldn't work anymore.
I got suspicious that after I remove send mail and and
install qmailtoaster it makes my send-mail program
from
PHP couldn't work anymore

but I've seen send-emails-toaster in my
/usr/src/redhat/RPMS/x-86/noarch/send-emails-toaster..is
it ok to install considering I already install
qmailtoaster,or is it the same application like
send-mail in linux

anyway thanks to all of you guys

best regards,

Roy Mangapul
