Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmt latest / cos 7 / ipv6 support
ok, i seem to have it working. installed ucspi-tcp6 as per instructions, edited the smtp & submission run scripts to use the new tcpserver and now they're on ipv4/6. i also re-configured my dns recursor to listen on ipv4 & 6 (unsure if mandatory but makes sense in my mind). thanks. [qmailtoaster] password length max?
question, interesting issue; when i create a new user, whether it be via vadduser or in qmailadmin, i may spec a 39 character password for example but it winds up being saved in a truncated form, down to only the first 16 characters. a.) is this normal b.) why no warning from vadduser or qmailadmin? c.) can this limit be expanded? not that 16 chars is bad but i believe in very strong passwords. thanks. - Fabian S. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com

That's wild. I also ventured over to another mailing list for an organization he's been involved in, main plug. They claim he should be just fine and well and someone claimed to have just recently spoken to him or to have seen a post from him somewhere online about a month ago. I could find no evidence of that and he never chimed into the list discussion as others thought he might. Re: [qmailtoaster] mrtg
Hello, I believe i just figured this one out. the existing graph types anyway now work. not sure if I should be creating new ones yet (experimenting with submission and getting the spam/clam stats to read right) but otherwise it works. If you look in /usr/share/toaster/mrtg/qmailmrtg.cfg, you'll see these lines: Target[messages]: \`/usr/bin/qmailmrtg m /var/log/qmail/send\` in each section. simply remove the back slashes from the beginning and end of the command line, to appear as this: Target[messages]: `/usr/bin/qmailmrtg m /var/log/qmail/send` and suddenly my stats started updating and no more errors when i manually run the cron job. - Fabian S. P.S. anyone look at Dovecot graphing? or the proper method for graphing submission? Right now i copied the smtp section and changed the labels / logs directory. not sure if that's accurate. and clam/spam logs appear in maillog. qmailmrtg is likely looking for standalone logs for those components i presume correct? in case it can actually read / parse maillog, i set those log dirs simply to /var/log. no errors but not sure yet if it is graphing it correctly. I did some digging and figured out what was happening. 1. Someone posted to the qmailtoaster list from a host that is currently listed in an RBL. 2. After a set number of bounces, it sent me the same warning that you've all received. Basically, if you get one, it means that (a) your qmailtoaster setup is behaving as it should, and (b) the qmailtoaster ezmlm software is behaving as it should. But the end result is these warning messages. What I can't now remember was whose IP was blacklisted. It might have been Fabian's (74.125.129.26), but that IP seems to be clear now, so it was probably a transient issue. is it possible to define: smtp smtp-ssl and have each honor a different cipher list such as the control file tlsserverciphers? if i can simply pass the environment variable tlsciphers, how do i do that exactly and does it in fact take precedence over the standard control file tlsserverciphers? reason being i wish to have a more restrictive tlsserverciphers for submission (eliminating SSL) and then create smtp-ssl to allow ssl on port 465. thanks. -- - Sincerely, Fabian S.

Eric, thanks. that was easy. couple initial issues: 1. dovecot wasn't running upon restart. I started it and set it to run at bootup. correct? Does dovecot need addt'l configuration? 2. when sending a test msg, squirrelmail tells me: Message not sent. Documentation is still a bit behind. If anyone would like to get some experience with github's wiki, let me know and we can apply some teamwork on getting that going. What we do with that presently has wide open possibilities. What is the URL for the new docs? Is it something people can have a look at? Sure. Here it is: https://github.com/QMailToaster/qmailtoaster-util/blob/master/README. install Pretty simple, eh? Well, simple anywise. Perhaps not so pretty. ;) I'm not yet sure how the wiki's going to fit in to github. As you can see here: https://github.com/QMailToaster Each package has its own repository on github. Having a repo for each package made good sense when it came to automating the build process. I hope to get the new build process documented one day (it's highly automated, and the scripts are in the qmailtoaster-repo, qmailtoaster-develope and qmailtoaster-build package/repos) - perhaps we'll have a qmailtoaster-mirror package/repo at some point as well). Keep in mind that these are *source* repos, which serve an entirely different role than the yum repos that reside on all the mirrors. It's almost a shame that they're both called repos, because they're extremely different things. Anywise, poke around there some to get a feel for github. It's pretty nice, and there's still a lot there that I'm not aware of. Anyone who'd like to contribute can create a github account for themself, and I'll be happy to add them to the QMT project. It appears as though each github repo can have its own wiki. So I guess I'll need to create a qmailtoaster-wiki repo, where the new wiki will reside. If there are details about any particular package, that can go in the package's wiki. This doesn't mean the qmt-wiki needs to follow the structure of the package repos, only that the project wiki can reference package-specific wiki pages. Thanks for asking. (Gotta go. Does it mark it or drop it? Are there config options? I've just implemented DSPAM on my QmailToaster (ironed out all the bugs last night) and it works phenomenally. I trained about 30 messages and haven't had one untagged spam since and no false positives. I've only trained it with spam, no ham. I realize this has only been 18 hours or so but it works much better than Spamassassin--I have both installed. I'm wondering if DSPAM shouldn't be stock in the Toaster packages as Spamassassin and Spamdyke are not doing it for my clients. I am now setting up a DSPAM gateway for a client. It greatly reduces the load on the system by blocking large numbers of obvious spam before they get to the more resource-intensive Toaster components such as ClamAV and SpamAssassin. Spamdyke can be installed using scripts in QmailToaster-Plus: http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/trac/wiki/Features#qtp-install-spamdyke I also recommend SaneSecurity signatures for ClamAV. [qmailtoaster] issue with QMT Mailman implementation

[qmailtoaster] issues updating clamav with my QMT
Hello, please see two attached txt files. one was me trying to update using qtp-newmodel. The other was trying to do it manually with rpm. qtp-newmodel fails because it can't load dependencies. there are 3 with no packages available: No package compat-libf2c available. No package compat-libgcc available. No package compat-libsdc++-33 available. and the other failure is trying to update php. this server is a COS 5.9 box where I had manually installed and upgraded to php5.3 (since the repos only give you php). i had done this to run some others tools that required it and it didn't seem to adversely affect any other QMT packages. the QMT package dependencies rely on php. so it fails given the need for a downgrade. when i try using rpm manually, it gives the errors seen in the txt file. and then nothing happens after that and clamav remains NOT updated. can Mr. Shubes or anyone else offer me any suggestions? Re: [qmailtoaster] How to make more than one domain into one server
If you just follow the qmail toaster instructions online, it explains everything you're asking for step by step on how to set up. And the qmt scripts do an awesome job of automating most of the install for you. Qmail includes SMTP, so I'm unsure what you're asking for there. Personally, I'd recommend using roundcube instead of squirrelmail. You can google instructions on how to do it and if I'm not mistaken, qmt may already have a scripted procedure for setting up roundcube. I forget now how I got mine setup. But if you google it, it's out there. Fabian s.
