Thanks for the heads up - I had thought I had not enabled SELinux but turns out I was wrong. Disabled it and all seems to working. No backup - that would have made this process too easy!!No seriously, lucky this is a new install of qmail, so therefore wasnt densely populated. Would it be too much to trouble someone for some help as to what I will need to do to rebuild it?Is it possible to say just delete the vpopmail database or...?Thanks for the quick reply.Jake Vickers [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: jim dandy wrote: While trying to implement a spam solution as written about in another thread, I seem to have destroyed the MySQL on my toaster install. If it is, then you've garbled the database. Hopefully you had a backup. Unfortunately, the same problem cropped up again after running through your pointers. At this point I think a reinstall will be quicker than debugging the problem, fingers crossed. Ive saved copies of the corrupted databases, and the error messages, and will delve deeper into it should it appear again. Thanks for the help.Jake Vickers [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: jim dandy wrote: No backup - that would have made this process too easy!! You should not have to reinstall anything else, AFAIK.-QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted -To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks for the ideas. Can you recommend a good guide for me to use to setup DSPAM with qmail?"P.V.Anthony" [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Ein Bielaczyc wrote: P.V.Anthony wrote: jim dandy wrote: My question is - what do the experts on this list think of DSPAM? I have been looking at is as an addition to Spamassassin. It looks to be getting good reviews, however id like to hear some more opinions. I am not an expert and I have not used Spamassassin. I have been using dspam for about one and half years and it is just great. I get about one spam a week if any. For me dspam, especially the latest version, is doing a wonderful
job. P.V.Anthony Jim, I too would like to use DSPAM, because to me training a filter on what is spam and what it not seems to be the most effective method. My problem is that I am using the Qmail Toaster as a gateway between the internet and my Novell Groupwise system. The Toaster as is, works wonderfully in this respect, with no ill effects. But configuring DSPAM in the same way, according to the included docs, is too much administration. Perhaps P.V. Anthony can add to this, but having to create 2000+ virtual users to use DSPAM as a gateway just won't fly. If the Toaster architects can include DSPAM as an option I'd definitely give it a shot.I do not know how to use Toaster as gateway. Same for dspam. I am using them like a normal server. In the latest version, you do not have to create virtual users. You can use just one
email account to report spam for all domains. The version I am talking about is dspam 3.6.4. Maybe you want to look at it again. So far the latest version is very accurate.I am using dspam with mysql and with group function. If you want to try, let me know where I can be of help. You can try just for your email account first before deploying it for the rest.P.V.Anthony-QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted -To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Let me start by mentioning that I have tried to search already, however the seems to be a problem with the search function of the site? So if Im going over old topics, I apologise. My question is - what do the experts on this list think of DSPAM? I have been looking at is as an addition to Spamassassin. It looks to be getting good reviews, however id like to hear some more opinions. Thanks Jim
