2016-04-13 Thread Eric

Aneesh,

QTP is no dead for the time being, as far as I know. I'm not sure when
Eric Shubert will be backup.

In the mean time you can get updates for QT in this tree:
ftp://ftp.whitehorsetc.com/pub/repo/qmt/CentOS/5/

[qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus-0.3.2-1.4.21 released

2014-04-08 Thread Eric Shubert

This is a bugfix release. There were some problems with qtp-backup.

Everyone on COS5 who is running *-toaster packages should upgrade:
# yum -y update qmailtoaster-plus

If you're on COS6 or running the new packages (with no -toaster
designation), you shouldn't have qmailtoaster-plus installed on your
system. You should be using qmailtoaster-util instead.

Thanks.

[qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus 1.3.2-1.3.20 available

2014-03-29 Thread Eric Shubert
There is a new qmailtoaster-plus package available. This is *not* for
COS6 installations. I expect this to be the FINAL UPGRADE for this
package, as it will be obsoleted soon by the qmailtoaster-util package
in the mirrors. Everything that's supported going forward will be in the
qmailtoaster-util package.

We don't yet have a plan for upgrading COS5 hosts with the new yum
repos. That's primarily because nobody's done so yet. It should be
fairly straight forward to do the switch, if someone cares to try it
out. I would *not* (yet) recommend doing so on a production server.

Here are the changes to QTP since the last release:

03/29/14 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - cut release 0.3.2-1.4.20 - FINAL RELEASE
 - obsoleted by qmailtoaster-util package

11/23/13 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - qtp-prune-graylist - added counts for spam vs ham deleted

11/11/13 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - qtp-dependencies - fixed perl modules for spamassassin

09/23/13 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - added CentOS 6 to qtp-install-rpmforge, changed from i386 to
i686

 - changed COS6 to use /root/rpmbuild for BUILD_DIR

05/28/13 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - fixed qtp-backup, qtp-restore for tar v1.23 (CentOS 6) commands.

02/08/13 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - Added dynamic to spamdyke blacklist_keywords file

12/14/12 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - Added rule to qtp-install-spamdyke to filter multiple From:
addresses

12/04/12 - Eric e...@datamatters.us
 - removed php-ldap from qtp-dependencies script

[qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus on QMT5-ISO

2010-08-01 Thread Patrick Ring
Am I wrong in thinking that qmailtoaster-plus was included with
QMT5-ISO?
(or was it possibly part of the original qmt-iso?)
I know I have it on a server that I know I loaded from QMT-ISO, but I
don't remember having to load it from rpm or repo.

The reason I ask is that I just loaded a server up with CentQMT5-1.2 and
it doesn't have any of the qtp-* items in the /usr/sbin.

Would I have put this there, or is it part of the ISO?
Please advise.

Re: [qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus-0.3.1-1.4.14 released

2009-10-27 Thread Eric Shubert

Eric Shubert wrote:

First and foremost, the qmailtoaster-plus.repo package has been
expanded. It now includes repositories for each distro/version to
provide the FUSE packages required by the updated qtp-newmodel. While it
is usually a good idea to run

# yum update
before running qtp-newmodel, you *must* minimally run
# yum update qmailtoaster-plus.repo
before running the new qtp-newmodel with a unionfs sandbox.
If you don't do this update, you'll see:
Error getting repository data for qtp-CentOS, repository not found
qtp-mount-sandbox - installation of dependent packages failed
qtp-mount-sandbox - is your qmailtoaster-plus.repo package up to date?

Secondly, the unionfs sandbox used by qtp-newmodel has been totally
revamped. It now runs with FUSE (Filesystem in USErspace), so it doesn't
need to be rebuilt whenever the kernel is updated. This is compatible
now with newer kernels (Fedora 10,11), and has been implemented in older
kernels (2.6.9+) with the help of the dkms and dkms-fuse packages. All
of the details are handled automatically by the qtp-mount-sandbox
script, which is invoked by qtp-newmodel (and can be run from the CLI
FWIW). If you're running CentOS, be sure to be patient when dkms-fuse is
installing. It takes a bit of time because it builds a kernel module
during the post install process.

The unionfs sandbox has not been tested on Suse or Mandriva. I expect
there will be a few things that need to be done to get it working, but
it shouldn't be difficult, as the pieces are all in place. If one of you
who is running Suse or Mandriva would like to test this functionality,
please contact me.

The other fairly big change is that the qtp-extraclam script has been
replaced with a new qtp-install-sanesecurity script. This script
downloads and installs the current version of the script which maintains
the extra clamav databases. When a new version becomes available, you
can simply rerun qtp-install-sanesecurity to get the latest version.

There are other minor enhancements as well. qtp-newmodel now lets you
select packages for re-install, and it also displays the last 10 lines
of the log file if/when there's a build error. See the release notes for
any other little things I may have missed in this announcement.

As always, please post to the list with any questions or comments.

[qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus-0.3.1-1.4.12 released

2009-08-13 Thread Eric Shubert

The newest QTP version is now available. Upgrade is recommended.

See the doc/release-notes.txt file for all the changes.

Most notable is that qtp-newmodel now allows you to rebuild/reinstall
the same package version. This will allow you to reinstall an existing
package with different compile options (think spambox).

There are also various little bug fixes.

Union/overlay filesystem for the sandbox on FC10/11 is not contained in
this release. If anyone needs to use qtp-newmodel on FC10/11, they
should choose the copied or linked sandbox for the time being. Justice
is working on a new python script for handling the union/overlay
capability going forward. I expect it will be a few months yet before
that's all coded, tested and ready for release.

[qmailtoaster] Qmailtoaster-Plus 0.3.1-1.4.9 released

2009-04-05 Thread Eric Shubert
I have created Qmailtoaster-Plus 0.3.1-1.4.9, and it is available in the
yum repository as well as the qtp.qmailtoaster.com web site for download.

This is a bugfix release, and upgrading is highly recommended. It fixes
a problem in qtp-newmodel with perl dependencies. Thanks to Steve Huff
for helping to make qtp-newmodel more bullet-proof in the future as perl
packages evolve.

You can upgrade to this version (if you have the qmailtoaster-plus repo
installed) simply by yum upgrade qmailtoaster-plus. You can
alternatively use rpm -Uvh
http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/repo/qmailtoaster-plus-0.3.1-1.4.9.noarch.rpm;.

Please report any further problem you might have to the list.

Here is the release notes since the last version:

- Added all other spamassassin perl module dependencies

- Fixed qtp-clean-spam for large numbers of emails

02/19/09 - Jake j...@qmailtoaster.com

- Roundcube that allowed a remote hacker to obtain logins on
- the system.

12/11/08 - Jake j...@v2gnu.com
- Changed the Roundcube installation script around to only
change the
- data we needed to in main.inc.php for compatability and
reworded install text

10/27/08 - Jake j...@v2gnu.com
- Added qtp-install-qcontrolpe to the menu to install the
QControlPE

  package

10/07/08 - Eric e...@shubes.net

I probably not thinking clearly yet, but I'd expect much of it to work

I'd suggest tackling the qtp-whatami script early on, and have it create a
new variable indicating package type (deb|rpm). That variable can then be
interrogated whenever a script needs to determine which to use.

 Just a few 'early' thoughts.

[qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster-plus-0.3.0-1.4.2 has been released

2008-04-20 Thread Jake Vickers
A new version is out. Some minor fixes and a few new features. The
upgrade process should take into consideration the circular dependency
issue with clamav now.
A install-spamdyke script has been added by Eric Shubes that will
install Spamdyke for you. It can't be any easier!
A script has been added to install the Gnome desktop. This has been a
request a couple times now, so I finally got around to it.

As always, the latest script is available at http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com
or if you've installed the repo:

yum update qmailtoaster-plus

Enjoy!

Those 2 files got let out. I've updated the release, so just do a yum
update qmailtoaster-plus again for the updated version with the files.

cas: Qmailtoaster-Plus does NOT update the files for you in that way.
Qmailtoaster-Plus gives you the qtp-newmodel script that will update

In order to install spamdyke, you need to run the qtp-install-spamdyke
script either from qtp-menu or from the CLI. spamdyke isn't automatically
installed with qmailtoaster-plus, you need to run the script to do the
spamdyke installation.

Thanks for clearing that up, EE.

I've attached the latest version of qtp-whatami, which will also be included
in the next QT-plus release. It uses the fdr60 parameter for FC7,8 systems,
so they might work better. Users should understand that this is the best we
can do with the 1.3 branch, and FC7+ will not be supported until 1.4 is
released.

Thanks again to EE for all his work on this.

The /usr/sbin/qtp-whatami file shows fdr70 (and fdr7064) in the lsiting. I
also made sure to use /usr/sbin/qtp-whatami to be sure that there are no
redundant older copies somewhere that are being accessed. I still get the
same sorry message. Could it be that the Check Fedora section of the
script is looking for Core instead of just Fedora (as Core was dropped
from the distro since the release of 7)?

That's precisely the problem. They dropped Core from the name and the
script doesn't find the release number as a result.

This was the issue that Natalio was addressing with the alteration of the
qtp-whatami script. The changes made in that script where the addition of
fdr70 to the distro list at the beginning, the removal of word 2 in the
check fedora section and OSVER=$word3 relnum=${word3%.*}:

That's the extent of the fix for FC7/8, but it breaks the script for earlier
versions. Here's a fixed version of that routine:
###
## check fedora
#
b23_fedora(){

BUILD_DIR=/usr/src/redhat

if [ $word1 == Fedora ]; then
  if [ $word2 == release ]; then
DISTRO=$word1
OSVER=$word3
relnum=${word3%.*}
case $relnum in
  8 | 7 )
BUILD_DIST=fdr${relnum}0
q1_distro_64
esac
  elif [ $word2 == Core ]; then
DISTRO=$word1 $word2
OSVER=$word4
relnum=${word4%.*}
case $relnum in
  6 | 5 | 4 )
BUILD_DIST=fdr${relnum}0
q1_distro_64
if [ $relnum == 5 ]; then
  case $QTARCH in
i386 | $ARCH64 )
  tested=y
  ;;
  esac
fi
;;
  3 | 2 | 1 )
BUILD_DIST=fdr${relnum}0
;;
esac
  fi
fi
}

Will you edit your script with this version and give it a try? If it works
then I'll check it in for the next QTP release.

I have not tested this alteration yet as I fear that upgrading with the
 qtp-newmodel might run into issues.

You need to be sure that the packages on the web site have been upgraded for
versions 7,8 before it'll work for sure. I don't know their status, but Erik
Espinoza would know for sure (since he's the one who does all that magic).

If the packages haven't been configured for the version you're running,
they'll be built with the default settings, which probably won't work for
you. If you want to fake it out, the easiest way is to (temporarily) change
the /etc/fedora-release file to correspond to the most recent toaster
version. (don't forget to change it back later!)

Sory for the rambling, the answer to your question is at the top...

[qmailtoaster] Qmailtoaster-Plus 0.3.0-1.4.0 is out

2008-02-11 Thread Jake Vickers
The new version of Qmailtoaster-Plus is out. Version 0.3.0-1.4.0 brings
some new features thanks to the efforts of Eric Shubes and Justice
London in the qtp-newmodel script. The script has been updated for the
new links and now includes unionfs which will build the sandbox in 30
seconds (YMMV) and build the packages there.

As always the new version is available at the main site
(qtp.qmailtoaster.com) or for those that have installed the repo:

yum upgrade qmailtoaster-plus

I have added a version of multitail to the QTP repo so that watchall and
cwatchall will work with all versions now. Here's the release notes:

02/11/08 - Eric [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Updated qtp-newmodel to stop asking if
user
- wants devel packages installed.

02/08/08 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Started to rework web links to comply with
- new schema designed by Erik Espinoza

01/22/08 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Removed another RETURN prompt from the
- qtp-extra-clama script. Modified qtp-install-watchall to grab the
 - multitail package from the QTP repo now.

I am considering installing QMAILToaster-PLUS and I have a question...

The tool qtp-newmodel upgrades your QMT installation. I have a concern
with the upgrade since I modified the install script for simscan-toaster to
allow for users to control their own blacklists/whitelists and SPAM scores
through MySQL and spamassasin.

Does this tool allow for me to maintain that modification?

most current qmailtoaster-plus? If not, could I get the info on the

Try upgrading your multitail package. That seems to be a really old
version; on my Cent 4.6 box I have:

multitail-4.2.0-1.el4.rf
And on my Fedora Core 4 machine I have:
multitail-4.2.0-1.fc4

So I'm not sure how you got version 3.8.7.

If it's in the way it installs, then it has changed with the newer

Fresh out of the oven is qmailtoaster-plus-0.2.14-1.3.17! Okay, not
totally fresh. I finished it yesterday but it was my birthday
 I took a
trip up to the Blue Ridge Parkway with my wife and my 4-week
old son. As always, the package is available at the main site:
 http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com

BIG news: QTP is now available via a yum repo! That's right,
 download
and install my repo and you will be able to yum install
qmailtoaster-plus into your system. Updates will be easy when new
stuff comes out. I'll still continue to make the RPMs
 available on the
main site, but this will be the future of QTP.
The repo package is available at the main site, or here:
 http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/download/repo/qmailtoaster-plus.re
 po-0.1-1.noarch.rpm

A few bug fixes for QTP, and a couple new features. watchall and
cwatchall have been added to QTP, as well as a few other
 things. Here's
the new parts of the changelog:

11/24/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Created a package to
 install the qmailtoaster-plus.repo
  - into yum

11/22/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Created man pages for
 qmailtoaster-plus

11/21/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Made a Yum repo for
 qmailtoaster-plus

11/16/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Updated the script to
 download the new version
  - of Roundcube and also fix a few other minor issue,
 like my if-then logic.
  - Everything seemed to install correctly, but I did
 not do any testing other
  - than that.

10/30/08 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Changed cp -rf to cp
-af in the restore script to
  - retain the time stamps of the messages when
 restoring. Thanks to
  - Aaron Spurlock for that one!

 10/25/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  - Fixed a bug with the qtp-newmodel script where the
 reorganization
  - was not happening correctly.
  - Also have it install procmail if needed to meet a
 spamassassin dep.
  - Added a routine place holder for a dep check
routine to be used in the future.
  - Added watchall and cwatchall to the QTP package
 (installable)

 10/24/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  - Updated qtp-clean-trash to allow for a control
 file (thanks to
- Davide Bozzelli). Davide Bozzelli also submitted an updated
- SaneSecurity script that will check for a lock file,
 not restart
- clamav if no updates, and made the clam restart
 quiet for cron jobs

 10/15/07 - Jake [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  - Fixed -t option in qmlog (contributed by Eric 'Shubes')

As a side note, if anyone has a script to count the number of
 downloads
made via a yum repo (parsing the httpd logs), please let me
 know. It's
something that would save me time if you already have something like
this or are willing to whip something up for me to save some time.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments (or fixes) for QTP
 or any of
it's parts, please contact me off-list and let me know.
 Enjoy!

Not yet. One will be soon for all non-DJB packages (Squirrelmail,
ClamAV, etc.). Once DJB officially releases Qmail as public domain then
Qmail/daemontools, etc. will be in a repo.

Curious, how did QTP get to be in a yum repository if the Prophet DJB

QTP is software that I either write or collect from others
(qtp.qmailtoaster.com). I created my own repo for it, and it does not
include any of DJB's software.
Since it's my software (or other's that have given permission or it's
GPL'ed) I can do what I want ;)

Besides roundcube (i'm not using it) I have succesfully installed QTP in a
Fedora 7 system.
I have to modify qtp-whatami to include F7 support, and add some perl
dependencies to run sa-update correctly.
I'm not at the office now, as soon as I get there I'll send those
dependencies.

Thanks. I'd like the Fedora 7 qtp-whatami stuff as well. I only work on
Cent/RHEL and Debian now, so not much time to test other distros.

Dependencies missing for Fedora 7 distro:
perl-IO-Zlib
perl-Compress-Zlib

I didn't test all the packages, just whatami, sa-update and rbl configs.
I'll send the whatami stuff later (i'm not at the office yet).

Great. Send me the info off-list and I'll put out a new QTP with those

It will install the new backup script into your executable path, so if
you want to use the old you will need to define the path for it.
No, Shubes isn't really around anymore. He got a new job and got really

If you read the notes, I did not test the install-roundcube script
fully. It does install, but I did not fully test it out to make sure
everything with Rouncube itself worked.
It does not replace Squirrelmail. It just offers
http://yourdomain.com/roundcube as an alternative.

If you find that it does work, please report back here for others.

That will be a PHP error. You may have had a custom php.ini - try

Ok I went in and looked at the php.ini

When I ran the script it asked me if it was ok to modify the memory limit

When I went in and looked it looked similar to this

Memory_limit = 48Maximum

I changed it to this

Memory_limit = 48M ; Maximum

That did it so I think the cause was in the script. As I have just a stock
install. Other than that I am logged in and it is working great.

Thanks a million for the scripts

The new version of Qmailtoaster-Plus (0.2.13-1.3.16) has been
released. It's been a while, and I had lost some notes of what all I
had done to it, but I'm syncing everything with Tomboy now so that
should help me create better docs for you guys in the future.

Anyway, here's the release-notes since the last version:

- Added a script to put maildrop.log into the logrotate daemon
- to (hopefully) avoid the 2G problem some people have seen.
- Freshened the qtp-restore file a little - it now does things
- like ask for the mysqlroot password instead of needing it
- hard coded in the file. It also now backs up the
- /var/qmail/control files to /root before restoring the backed
- up copies. The restore script also now tells you that the
backup
- file NEEDS to be in /root to continue. It also warns the
user and

- asks if it should continue, defaulting to NO.
- Added qmail-clam to control the clamav daemon, added
- UpdateSaneSecurity to the menu to add additional clamav defs
- to help fight spam. Some other minor bug fixes and updates.
- Sorry everyone, but I got wrapped up in some other projects
- (QMT-ISO being one of them) and forgot to keep notes here, so
- I'm scrambling some - I'll keep better records in the future.
- The qtp-sa-learn script no has the --no-sync option during
the prune process

- and will now run a --sync when everything has completed.
- Missed some notes, so bear with me. I know in the last
version I fixed it
- so that the upgrade script puts the packages in the correct
order to be
- installed to fix a dependency bug. Lucian Cristian did some
updating to
- the qtp-build-sandbox script to fix a few errors (linking
breaking,

- linking that was not needed, etc.)
- dnk made a couple fixes to the qtp-restore script to fix a
few bugs
- and allow it to download the queue-repair tool if it's not
available

- locally.
- Added error checking to the qtp-install-roundcube file to
make sure
- that apache is restarting correctly after modifying the
php.ini

- file.
- Added a check in qtp-sa-update to remove
- /etc/mail/spamassassin/RulesduJour if it exists. Also added a
- spamassassin --lint and a spamd restart at the end.
Refactored the

- creation of the cron to be compliant with the rest of QTP.
- Added a --lint and spamd restart at the end of the cron.
- Added qtp-clean-trash to the menu, which will install a cron to
- delete messages in a user's Trash folder that are more than 5
- days old. This behavior can be changed by modifying a variable
- in the qtp-clean-trash file in /etc/cron.hourly.

As always, the latest version is available here:
qtp.qmailtoaster.com

Enjoy!

Please be advised that current version found in qmailtoaster-plus could
lock on some systems that are using named/chroot !

quickfix:
replace
du -shlLc $space_usage 2 /dev/null | tail -n 1
with

Not knowing about the single RPM of QMT+, I installed the collection version
over the weekend. This single rpm version will enable easier tracking of
changes I suspect. I should install it instead?

I need to uninstall the individual items of the earlier collection. I can turn
the install script into a remove script, is that sufficient to remove the
earlier items? It'll get rid of the rpms but will it leave contrary config
items?

Thanks.

Fixed. You can just edit /opt/qmailtoaster-plus/bin/qtp-sa-update and
change these lines:
$DAILYCRON=/etc/cron.daily/qtp-sa-update
$ORIG=`pwd`

To this:

DAILYCRN=/etc/cron.daily/qtp-sa-update
ORIG=`pwd`

(just remove the $ from the front of those variables) if you don't want to
download the package again. Sorry about that!

When installing and it asks you to remove the data from the
/etc/mail/spamassassin directory (if you had rdj installed), does that

mean all the data, or just the RDJ folder that is in there?

Just the RDJ data. I've been told by the SA devels that Spamassassin is

smart enough to not process the rules twice, but I prefer to not leave
things to chance.

Helmut - did you upgrade? I am in the same boat as you, I installed qmt-iso
1.2, and am scared to death to upgrade. The last time I tried that - I was
down for a while as I had to rebuild everything (it was my fault).

So is qtp-newmodel safe to run now if I installed with qmt-iso 1.2? Or do I
need to do an upgrade via another route (i.e. get the newest qtp and install
that first? Thx!
