This is far from the truth. She is not an automatic citizen. If they have a baby together it is a citizen the minute it is born. She has to wait the 10 year waiting period and then apply to be an American citizen.

It shocked me as well. I was in an annex of John's Hopkins. Of
all places, I thought they would be equipped. When I was a patient at the
main hospital, they had a few to try and work with. The crazy thing is
they do a lot of these surgeries there therefore I am sure they see a lot of
people with paralysis. At least that is what the nurses have told
me. I asked what they do and they said they just go on the bed on the blue
pads. It amazes me I seem to be the first to raise hell about it.

I think it has to do with the nursing staff that is on duty. Lets face it,
The person graduating last in their medical school is called "doctor". That
saying goes double for nurses. Sometimes you can charm them into treating

Didn't use to be a problem (ones that held me up anyway).

In the first 20 yrs I had one on my coccyx when I was sklin bone but it healed rather quickly (age 18).

Have had one on each heel from shoes but eliminated the shoes.

Had my left hand's forefinger half-amputated from a BED SORE ... just raced out of control too quickly (1993-94ish).

Then nada until 2001 when we moved to Tucson ... a yeast pimple spread like wildfire on the back of my right thigh.
It wasn't diagnosed as yeast by home nurses and it traveled into the crease under my buttock causing a BIG
OPEN WOUND ... 6 months in bed with that.

After that we said "no more!" but last May (yr ago) a red spot turnedREAL BAD overnight. This one in the LEFT
crease under my buttock. It wouldn't respond to anything. We tried wet/dry, every ointment out there, the wound
vac, etc ... and STILL it raged on! In bed 5-6 months with that!

Now "that area" is fragile. Flares up, etc. Pressure isn't the problem since it worsens when I'm off it! Thinking
it's a moisture problem... keeping it dry is our effort.

Are bed sores a real common problem with everyone here?
In 23 years, the only ones I had were from when I was in the hospital.
I've had red spots, but they've gone away in 1 or 2 days. I had 1 on the back of my foot, from the back of my shoe being folded over. But that's all I can recall.
I had something that might have been a bed sore, but we never knew for sure. It was a funny spot that showed up on an MIR of my hip. It was a spot under the muscle of my butt. It never broke through the skin, and there was never a problem. Docs still not sure what it was. One doc wanted me to have surgery, cut it open to drain it. But the surgoen said never cut open your butt if not needed right away. That it could weaken the skin there. It's been a few years and never a problem. I asked the doc to do a new MRI, but said my then insurance would not cover it just to look.

I've seen 2 different programs that showed how outsourcing

make some good points. Of course, I'm not the one losing a job.
One was ABC News: John Stossel Takes on Myths, Lies and Nasty

No. 4 MYTH: Outsourcing Is Bad for American
Workersread the transcript here:

The other was on the Discovery Times channel

Different perspectives on outsourcing work.

http://times.discovery.com/convergence/outsource/outsource.html
This program showed the young workers in India who work at the phone
centers. With their new found wealth they are spending their money on
products from America. Seems it's a status symbol to be able to buy
American stuff. So this was creating new, different jobs in this country.
It also showed how the companies in India which provide workers to
American companies have a strong influence on government policies. It was
those pro-American companies that helped ease nuclear tension between
India and Pakistan a few years ago.

Hi Steph,

Ya I see that advertised with the blue cartoon guy hero. http://www.elidel.com/index.jsp It's for treating mild to moderate exczema.

I've had exzema since childhood (had it BAD ages 3-7)but grew out of it for the most part. When my spot looks a certain way
my husband puts on my "prescription" cortisone cream for exzema.

A wife of a quad on the SCIC list swears by PROSHIELD on the skin. I have not heard of IT or tried IT yet. She said:

"I have to say that I swear by this ointment. My husband has been a quad for almost 2 yrs now, and I have to say that in that time he has sat up in his chair for may hours at a time and when in bed he HATES to be turned off of his back, and he has NEVER had a pressure sore on his back and very few, small sores on his Butt. This is the best ointment that I have ever used on him."

Thanks anyway! :-)

Well while you're blaming the Mexicans Washington is spending your tax dollars and giving it tocompanies like Halliburton and reducing your benefits and your rights.
Their is so much crooked crap going on in Washington it makes me sick.
The federal government just made it illegal for a person's doctor to prescribe medicinal marijuana to aids and cancervictims even though individual states and the majority of Americans think our doctors know what's best for us instead of the feds.
It's strange I can go to my doctor right now and have him prescribe me a morphine patch, Oxycotin, some heroine based medication but not medicinal marijuana.
It seems the pharmaceutical companies have some pull they have drugs that are killing folks but still get them prescribed.
Whens the last time you heard of someone dying by an overdose of marijuana?
But it's illegal even with a prescription from your doctor!

I'm sorry I got off course a little but Mexicans are our problem?
What about health care?
What about Iraq and war profiteering in the sum of 8.8 billion that Washington doesn't seem concerned about and have yet to do any investigation into it and this isnothing recentbut they managed to investigate the postal service 8 times since 2003 but nothing on this 8.8 billion to reconstruct Iraq. I bet Halliburton knows where it's at and probably Cheney to since that's his old company. Sound fishy?
How about the new memos coming out showing Blair and Bush were making plans on invading Iraq 8 months before he announced it and were fabricating intelligence to justify it?

The Mexicans?
How about this crooked administration?

Chimp attack victim making progress, suffering nightmares
First words out of coma: "How's Moe?"
By Karen RubinStaff Writer
WEST COVINA - Three months after being mauled by two chimpanzees, St. James Davis was pulled out of his medically-induced coma last week and is making some headway in his recovery, his attorney said.
Doctors at Loma Linda University Medical Center removed Davis' breathing tube, but the 62-year-old continues to receive nourishment through a feeding tube, said Attorney Gloria Allred, who represents Davis and his wife, LaDonna.
The West Covina couple was attacked March 3 by two chimpanzees while visiting the Animal Haven Ranch, an animal sanctuary near Caliente. They were there to visit their pet chimpanzee, Moe, who was not involved in the attack.
The couple have raised Moe as if he were their child. In 1999, Moe was removed from the Davis home after he bit several people. He was placed at the Wildlife Waystation in Lake View Terrace and then moved to Animal Haven in 2004.
Several weeks ago, when doctors temporarily woke him up, St. James Davis' first words reportedly were, "How's Moe?"
Davis is undergoing physical therapy, and doctors have cut back on his surgery schedule to allow him time to heal. So far, doctors have performed 12 operations to repair severe bite wounds all over his body.
"He can communicate a little bit with LaDonna with some difficulty," Allred said.
But now, Davis must overcome a new obstacle in his recovery.
"He is beginning to have nightmares," Allred said. "The doctors are gearing up to deal with these psychological concerns. With the head trauma, it could take time to sort out the emotional issues."
On June 6, the Davises celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. His 61-year-old wife brought flowers and a card.
It was another celebration that landed Davis in the hospital. On March 3, the Davises brought a birthday cake to Moe to celebrate his 39th birthday, when four chimpanzees escaped from their cages.
Two large males attacked the Davises, biting off LaDonna Davis' thumb and severely mauling St. James Davis.
St. James Davis lost an eye, part of his face, and several fingers on both hands. Severe bite wounds covered his body.
The couple reportedly do not have medical insurance.
The attack occurred when Animal Haven Ranch owner and operator Virginia Brauer left two of three cage doors unlocked, law enforcement officials said. Unknown to her, the chimps had learned how to unlock a third door and escaped, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department's investigation.
The Kern County District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against Brauer and her husband, Ralph.
