Re: [QUAD-L] Another Ladies only question ! (Menopause and S.C.I.)

2008-04-09 Thread Stacy Harim
I certaintly wish I didn't have mine. I'll be 34 in July and with the
condition of my back with all the rods, I've decided I don't want to bare
children. I hate not knowing exactly when it's coming and then when it does
come, I have a mess to clean up a lot of times b/c I cant feel that it's come.
I do wear depends in case my catheter leaks and make sure not to miss a day
when I am expecting my period.

I am 42 years old, and after my accident in December of 2000, I didn't have my
period for seven months or so. Of course, when I would mention this to my
husband back then, he would say let's not talk about it. Maybe it will never
come back. Well, shortly after that it did come back. Now, I wish it would go
away. Couple of things. One is that I have a 33-year-old caregiver, who had
to have a total hysterectomy due to cancer. She is cancer free and we are
always joking about her not having a period anymore and how I wish I didn't.
Also, I never thought my husband would be putting in a tampon for me, much less
showing a caregiver how to do it. I use a tampon during the bowel and shower
program. Thank God we have a good sense of humor. I have to wonder if I'm
looking forward to menopause. As I'm normally cold, and I wonder how the hot
flashes are, besides the lack of bleeding. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Take care --
Maria

I too enjoy watching AM IDOL Contest. However, I know that this program
is
just another TV Reality Program that got extremely popular and perhaps out
of
hand, lol. These are some of the reasons.

1. The contest and rules are not registered with any Federal or State
organization.
2. The standards change each week, song, performance, clothes, pitchy
on and on...
3. Views don't see the actual numbers of calls
4. The program is not for viewers enjoyment, but rather the owners of the
program, 19 entertainment
5. The winners over the last 5 season has yet to produce a Beonce (sp)
quality performer after all that money.
6. Its a very in-house controlled show. We only see some of the end
results.

Other than that, I'm a faithful watcher and enjoy the show each season.

explains Reality TV as an industry.
Give the public what they want and hope they buy it. As you already

Forgot to mention. Every night when I lie down my body seems fine for about
30 minutes. Regardless how warm it is, I will be shivering while under a

falling asleep around 4:00am.

I feel this might have something to do with urinating but no idea what as I
have a supra-pubic. A similar period was experienced years ago but included

[QUAD-L] dangers

2008-04-09 Thread andrea murray
Hi Everyone.
At the beginning of this week, I was in Indianapolis Ind. for a
Governor Board meeting. My CAN and I had some hours before the meeting, so we
went to the mall in downtown Indianapolis. While we were in the mall she
stopped because, this guy was trying to sell make up in the middle of the mall.
So, I stopped with her to listening to him trying to sell us the make up. All
at once she had seen that someone had stolen her over night bag that was on the
back of my wheelchair. Well she started running down the mall trying to find
her bag. I went after her and we found a policeman. She told him that someone
had stolen her over night bag from me and that she was angry that someone was
so hard up that they would steal from a disability woman. The policeman told
her it happens all the time.
You might be wondering way I’m telling you this story. I do not want it
to happen to you. When you are out in the public be aware we are vulnerable to
those who are dangers. My CAN told me to get a little bell on my book bag then
if someone tries to take it I will hear it and just back up and nock them down
and start yelling. I know I will be ready for anyone who tries to steal
something from me.

You might be wondering way I'm telling you this story.

I was going to say exactly the same thing. Keep the money in our country.
There are a lot of groups that help Africa. We have so many poor people in

of budget cuts. Thank you for saying it first.

Why don't these stars adopt children in our country instead of going to

2008-04-09 Thread Quadius
I know this is little late, but I've been having technical problems last
few days. While sudden noises that I am not ready for still causes painful
spasms in my bladder, I'm not nearly as sensitive as it used to be. My
first couple years after my injury any type of loud sudden noise would send
a shock wave down my spine and pain would erupt around the lumbar region.
Thank goodness that has diminished.

Re: [QUAD-L] MRSA

2008-04-09 Thread Quadius
As far as I know, which doesn't mean a lot, MRSA is sometimes so susceptible
to Vanco and a few other broad-spectrum antibiotics, but this is not always
the case. My father-in-law, who was extraordinarily weakened by a stroke,
succumbed to MRSA about three years ago and he was given Vanco. It's not
always successful in knocking the strain out.

We do have a special interest in it because so many of us are dependent on
the doctors and nurses that do so much to spread it. I do believe the
insurance companies that have done so much to reduce the quality of care in
order to increase profits should be held responsible. They are a direct
source behind forcing the best doctors and nurses from the hospitals. In
many cities across America corporations have been caught working with
insurance companies to fix prices in local areas. This has driven the best
doctors and nurses away from these markets. In Cincy they busted GE and PG
along with Ford and Anthem and Humana. After this grand conspiracy was
exposed the whistle blower was fired and each of the corporations received a
sharp tongue lashing from a federal judge that couldn't think of anyway to
punish such an act fairly...the end.
Once again proving that we need to nationalize health care if only to stop
corporations from destroying our medical system for the profits.
See! You all knew it was political.
