Re: [QUAD-L] frustrations with Medi-Cal and Medicare
They more or less have people like Danny and myself being forced to MAKE us *square* people into the *round* holes to qualify for Medicaid or the Medicaid waivers. In other words, we can only have so much money or have to spend it down and then they are always needing to know h1ow much money we have to keep being eligible, etc. In other words, flashlights up our butts and so on and so forth. Some of us just fall between the cracks. To much money/assets to qualify but not enough money to be able to hire the extra care we need as far as home health aides and other things. Re: [QUAD-L] frustrations with Medi-Cal and Medicare
Dan, it is how they keep us and our issues out of the way. I don't know about the others. Here in Ohio the ILC is almost down to an answering machine. Without money our influence in politics is file 13 letters. I dont mind doing stuff I can get under the table pay for. If I lost my waiver I'd be in a nursing home in a heart beat. I do taxes for tips at a couple local churches and family members. i try to keep costs down. I track what I spend on everything. 1100 is your share? I pay 35% for rent waiver picks up almost all other medical expenses. I put the money from undertable income on debit cards. $50 a month for transportation. I just budget it so I have a few hundred for gifts and cards. That $1100 share is a budget buster. I got to admit I have made money by begging. Maybe your family would back you if you learned to trade options. I know there are a few members of the group that dont just play in the fantasy contests for stocks. i wish you luck. john.
