[Quantum Owners] Re: engine required!

2013-07-16 Thread Keith Joseph
I don't supposes anyone out there knows if a Zetec SE engine and gearbox
out of a 1.7 Ford Puma would fit in a 2+2 without having to cut the engine
frame?

Cheers

 capacity cvh.

Unfortunately, without performing major surgery on the engine frame, I
think cvh is my only option.

Re: [Quantum Owners] Re: engine required!

2013-07-16 Thread Jim Hearne
I did measure one some time ago and i think the length was about the
same as the CVH, i.e shorter than the Zetec.
You might still need to cut and re-angle the top rail though to clear
the wider twin cam head.

The exhaust is on the rear of the engine so clearance might be tight
against the bulkhead and steering rack, almost certainly would need a
custom exhaust manifold making, especially as the standard one includes
the cat which is about 6 dia.

Don't forget any injection engine is going to involve changing the fuel
tank to one with a swirl pot, or plumbing in an external one.

Also, you will need the ecu and wiring loom with the matching key for
the PATS system.

Re: [Quantum Owners] Re: engine required!

2013-07-16 Thread Keith Joseph
Thanks Jim,

I didn't realise the inlet and exhaust were the other way to the cvh and
standard zetec - what a pain!

Back to the search for a larger capacity cvh I guess.

Cheers,

Keith

[Quantum Owners] Xtreme fuel filler pipe seal

2013-07-16 Thread Nigel Plant
I'm trying to find the seal that seals the inlet pipe to the fuel tank on
the Xtreme. I know its Sierra, but the Ford dealer says he can't get them
and I'm not scoring any success googling or on e bay. No luck with the
motor factors neither. There is one on e bay claiming to be for a Sierra
Cosworth, but don't know if its the same and the seller is not responding
to questions. I am sure there must be some out there and maybe I am
googling the wrong search words. Thanks
