Probably safer would be to: 1. Download the rpm using Firefox 2. Open a shell 3. cd Downloads 4. rpm2cpio qubes-windows-tools-3.2.2-3.x86_64.rpm | cpio -idm The qubes-windows-tools-3.2.2.3.iso file can be found in /home/user/Downloads/usr/lib/qubes Probably easily scriptable using wget instead...but for something you do once, the above will do. [qubes-users] Qubes Windows Tools not working
Hello, I've installed Windows 7 x64 in a VM and updated it until SP1 and tried to install Qubes Windows Tools 4.0.1-3. I get to the part where it says it will place some data on the E: drive and asks me to restart the VM, but when I do restart, Windows won't boot and keeps launching Startup Repair, though I do get entries for explorer.exe and others in the Qubes start menu. A possible bug: when Qubes Tools give the notice about the E: drive I also get a Windows dialog box in the background asking me to format the E: drive (even though I can already access it from Windows Explorer). However, whether I do it or not, I still get stuck at Startup Repair on subsequent boots. [qubes-users] Qubes-Windows-Tools What does it really need?
Qubes-Windows-Tools, What does it REALLY need to run properly with no stutter on the graphics? I have 2 threads and 2 GB RAM assigned to a Windows Guest with the Qubes Video installed, NOT SEAMLESS, and it has major stutters and degradation in performance. If I run with Qubes Video disabled and standard enabled, then it has no stutter or degradation in performance in the least, even on higher resolutions. With 4 threads and 4 GB RAM, there is no improvement when using Qubes Video Driver. This occurs with QWT version 3.2.2.3. With 3.2.1.3 there was no issue. This is on my laptop that had everything perfect with 3.2.1.3. Upgrading to 3.2.2.3 caused it all to go awry. [qubes-users] Qubes Windows Tools
Hi Devs, I would like to know from a dev what the requirements are for Qubes Windows Tools (QWT). All O/S reference are known to be x86_64. Does QWT require any specific version of Windows 7? Or will they work with all versions of Windows 7? Why does QWT require TESTSIGNING to be turned on? Is that because Win7 requires things to be signed? What are the CPU/RAM requirements for running QWT Seamless Mode? Why not have QWT be it's own GUI rather than explorer.exe, and also replace the login shell for windows? Or is that something that would be difficult to do? Only a few questions here, I'll keep the rest that may also depend on the answers to those. Hope to hear from you soon. I remember when I first installed Windows Tools, I accidentally double-clicked it and it was installing 2 versions of it at the same time. This may have been what screwed up network access.
