Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Brightness in idle state

2009-11-04 Thread mattbrowne

Could I also add that the radio needs some better brightness control -
the auto dimming is a great idea but in a dark room (e.g. bedroom) it
goes so dark that it cannot be read unless you are right next to the
unit.

I understand that's probably what some people need if they have beside
the bed but we have it at on a table at the end of the bed.

Is there someway of requesting an enhancement in this area?

Choose a radio station, you want to ad to the favorites.
Now push and hold the big button.
Here you can ad it.

To remove it, play the station, and push again the big button.

jwp12: I'm guessing you are connecting your Radio to the online
MySB.com site for playback, and currently the Add to Favorites is not
functioning from the Now Playing screen (using knob or +).

You can add it by using the Back button on Radio, see your last
selected station highlighted, now push knob or +, Add to Favorites is
now listed.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Radio doesn't work with #slim:noscan=1 in url

2009-11-04 Thread tass

I've got an OMPL file set up so I can access radio stations offered
mirrored by my ISP. These are not accessible by anyone except for user
of the ISP, so to have mysqueezebox.com work with these, I'd been told
to add #slim:noscan=1 at the end of the URLs.

This has worked with my other squeezeboxes, but with the Squeezebox
Radio I get an ICY 404 Resource not Found error with any URL followed by
this. I presume this is because the Squeezebox Radio does its own
processing when accessing internet radio stations, and likely doesn't
understand this extra tag.

The URL of the opml is http://www.users.on.net/~tass/Internode.opml
and an example of a URL that previously worked is
http://radio.internode.on.net:8108#slim:noscan=1

Is this something that will never work from the radio? Or is there the
possiblity of a firmware fix?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Red Radio - appearance and availability

2009-11-04 Thread tass

I received my red radio today, and I absolutely love it.
I was a little skeptical about how nice the sound could be, but it
sounds great.

My only issue is that I live in Australia and had to get a friend to
bring it back from the US for me. The US store should really have
Australia as a shipping destination - this thing is too good.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Can you use your own Backgrounds, Yes you can.

2009-11-04 Thread harmony895

Attention, all you do is on your own risk.

Here a explanation on how you can use your own Backgrounds for the
Radio.
First make some pictures, size 320x240 pix.
Save it with the following extension and name:
like: bb_your name.png

Now on the radio activate the SSH.
You get a IP and a password, write it down.
Now use something like WINSCP.
Then go to:
usr/share/jive/applets
Open the folder Setupwallpaper.

Copy your Backgrounds in this directory.
Close WINSCP.

Disconnect the Radio form the mains, and plug it in again.
The Radio reboots.
Now go to Display - Backgrounds and choose your own.

Here are some Backgrounds I made.

Have Fun.

or simply use the web-ui to SBS and add the customise controller
plug-in.

then, still within web-ui, you can use Advanced/Customise Controller
and browse to your wallpapers

This works with controller and radio on 7.4.1 and looks configured to
work with Touch.

not sure what impact MySB.com has on this.

I think that the plug-in name is not obvious for Radio owners that
didn't previously do this on a controller!!!

There is a last.fm plugin (installed from the server's plugins page) for

Right, sleep 3600 etc. I'd try
1) Set preset
to a normal playlist/station/song
2) Verify preset works
3) Create macro as something like sleep 3600; display Sleeping...
4) Set KidsPlay for that Radio to KidsPlay routine or normal action
5) Try the button again

If that doesn't work, try setting the logging level for plugin.KidsPlay
to debug let me know what you see.

 Jean
At present there are two sets of favorites, the favorites stored on
Squeezebox Server (SBS) running on your local PC and the favorites
stored on www.mysqueezebox.com, which is the server in the cloud. At
some point it will be possible to synchronize these favorites, but at
present they are independent of one another.

Since you want to access favorites without your computer being on,
mysqueezebox.com is the place to go. Create a user account if you
haven't already done so. Then login to mysqueezebox.com and click on the
Favorites tab. There is your list of favorites. You can paste an old URL
into the URL box at the top of that page, and put a useful name for it
in the Title box. Then click the Add button, and repeat for the rest of
your old URLs. You can re-order the favorites via drag-and-drop.

When you're done making your favorites list you can turn off your
computer, connect your SB Radio to mysqueezebox.com, and access the
Favorites list you just created.
