Thank you for clarifying that these are the prices shipped.  Like Joe, I 
found "net-to-me shipped" confusing in the pre-coffee hour of the morning.

[RBW] Re: Have you tried MKS Seahorse pedals

I have tried them - I was excited about them but ultimately am not a fan.

For reference I'm using a Spank Spoon DC on my nicer bike (Heron Touring) 
and MKS Allways on a travel bike. The Seahorse replaced Sylvan Touring Next 
on my commuter. While the pedal size is an improvement over the Sylvan 
Touring, my complaint is that there is essentially no grip at all. The 
little raised bits at the edge don't really do anything and my feet slid 
off the pedals a few times per ride. This in a variety of sneakers, boots, 
and sandals. Even the Sylvan Touring has much better grip by comparison, 
and the Allways is a better pedal in every way.

Too bad because the Seahorse seemed promising as a nice looking, 
affordable, and reasonably sized pedal, but the lack of grip doesn't work 
for me. Maybe would work for someone with different shoes or riding style.

know I9 has a few videos on reducing their hub oil w grease to reduce noise.

Some recent playing with a Rival 1 rear derailleur leads me to theorize 
that, clutch aside, the way it's different from a traditional RD designed 
for a double or triple is that it is built for a large cog, so the pulleys 
are lower, but has a shorter cage than a double would, so it can't wrap as 
much chain.

For example the Rival 1 "long cage" looks like it has about the same cage 
length as a "medium cage" Rival double derailleur, because it's taking up a 
similar amount of chain as a double with an 11-32 cassette would. That 
whole cage assembly sits lower to the ground to accommodate an 11-42 
cassette.

Good to know it's working well for you with a double!

The frame is near perfect and I have the original purchase receipt.  Most

This guy looked to be about 5’9” and the frame must’ve been a 65 cm.  He rode 
it with 1 foot on the pedal and the other dragging on the ground to slow him 
down. There was a can of Coca-Cola rattling around in an expensive titanium 
water bottle cage. bars were adjusted in a way that could not have been 
comfortable for anyone.

[RBW] Stolen Homer?

First off... sorry to assume anything, but my spidey sense went off seeing 
this.

I met a man riding a BIG Homer today.  He couldn't straddle the bike and 
didn't know anything about Rivendell or the fancy wheelset on the bike.  He 
didn't mind my asking about the bike so my guess is it was stolen and 
changed hands a bit before he wound up with it.

I checked bike index and there is one blue Homer that is listed stolen in 
SF.  I reached out through BI, but haven't heard back.

Anyone missing a big HH??

The ride does involve some climbs, but It's well worth it!  The Bay Area is

Deore are 135, and that would be 10 speed/11mtb era.  I think those 
Michelins are 700c only.

ISO: Correct, 100/135 for a Clem. 32 or 36 would be fine. Preferably wide 
rims.

[RBW] ISO/WTB/WTT 650b rim brake wheelset

In the tradition of always having the wrong wheelsets around, I ask you all 
to forgive me for failing to notice that I would need a 650b wheelset when 
moving from a 59 clem to a 52.  Possible trade for one of my 700c wheelsets 
(rich built, deore xt/lx/velocity variety).  

Didn't I just have several 650b wheelsets??  I did.  Yes.

Brendan in SF, who has 3 wheelsets for one frame, no wheelsets for another, 
and a wheelset that doesn't fit any of his frames.

I though I might be able to make the 59 work, but it's just too big for me.

I'd really love to trade for a mustard 52, but i'm open to other framesets 
to fit my 86cm PBH.

F/F/HS/SP $500 - Like new.
LX to Synergy wheelset with either Big Bens or 50mm Gravel Kings and a 
cassette + $225
Losco or Tosco + $60
XO1 11 speed RD, shifter, Raceface 30t cranks w BB and 11-46 cassette + $250
XT Linear pull F/R brakes + $50
Gold Paul Motolites + $190
Black/Silver Paul Lover levers + $100

Strange how few good options I'm finding FS here in the Bay Area right now. 
Anyone in possession of an extra set of 700c 100/135 rim brake wheels that

This Sam has mixed it up in some terrain, but it’s good to go for many, 
many more miles. Don’t expect perfection, but everything works as it 
should. It’s a great bike, and it’s a little too small for me (5’11” & 86cm 
PBH).

Would want the setup to include: thumbie shifters, crank, and front and 
rear derailleur.

[RBW] OT/WTT: winemaker/cyclist clearing out high end bottles

This is for Bay area members. Please feel free to delete if this is not allowed.

My buddy and I are clearing out his wine fridge and storage for a move. We’re 
both bay area winemakers and would love to pass along the huge number of extra 
high end bottles we have. Bottom line is we don’t know what to do with all of 
it and we’re never going to drink it all. All in all it’s probably four or five 
cases of wine totaling a couple thousand dollars. If someone has anything they 
would like to trade or just wants to come grab some bottles, we will be around 
this evening and tomorrow in the East Bay.

Things I’m looking for: 27 mm seat post for an older Ritchey. 22.0 stem for an 
older Motobecane. Wide nitto noodle or the like.  Non-aero drop levers. 650b 
front wheel. Bags. All part considered. Donate to a local charity. 24 packs of 
local beers.

[RBW] Frame repair in the Bay Area?

I have a steel Ritchey that needs a crack on the chainstay repaired.  I 
thought Mikkelsen would be the way to go unless anyone has abetter
