Hello again, Rivendell folk, I am parting ways with a number of clothes, and a few items which have some Rivness to them. Here it goes: Sackville Multi-sack Grey - This was a Rivelo exclusive. Greetings, Rivendell friends, I have a number of MUSA pants & knickers, which I have not been wearing for a while. All of which have been used, and are in varying degrees of wear, which is why the price is so low! Hopefully the prices are fair, will happily include a photo of the individual pair or the whole, if interested. $40 Black S Musa Knickers (in quite good shape) = 9/10 $35 Brown/Blue S Musa Pants (zippers on pant legs) = 8/10 - rear pocket needs re-stiching $20 Grey/ Blue S Musa Pants 5/10 $15 Grey / Blue S Musa Knickers 3/10 ( $15 Green S Musa Pants (kinda rough shape - a hole at the knee from crashing, and chain stain on legs) 3/10 $90 takes them all. [RBW] OTT: 10 speed X Wide Low(2x)?
Im curious about whether anyone here has has experimented with a drive train like this: 10 speed rear cassette (for instance 11-42), in combination with a Sugino Wide Low crankset. The logical concern would be whether or not the chain would get stuck between the rear cogs, as the Wide Low is meant for up to 9 speed. Exactly the issue and the solution i keep coming back to ( from a pragmatic standpoint) . I considered getting a surly 26" fork even ( since Homers fork has been bent before ). It's that or would that Legolas fork work for homer ? I'd love a crust evasion small but those are impossible to come by ! Who knows maybe I'll still find a vintage mountain bike ... in the end I love the Rivendell ethos of riding what you have . -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] Re: WTB: Fork with Canti Posts for 650b Homer
All are good suggestions, but i realized that it would be more practical just to ride an old Klunker mountain bike with 2.3's. i've tried the Paul racers and because my frame is very small, there's not enough distance in the rear from the cable hanger to get enough mechanical advantage . In the front it could work, but my fork wont take the stress, since it has been repaired once already. It dawned on me that a Surly fork wouldnt necessarily be a good choice, because Rivendells have 1'' steerers! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group. [RBW] WTB: Fork with Canti Posts for 650b Homer
Hello Bunch, I am contemplating under-biking the Great Divide on my sole steed, A. Homer Hilsen. We have ridden all types of terrain together, and it would suite my finances to ride what Ive got. Because my sidepulls are not providing enough braking power, Im contemplating purchasing a new fork. It could be a Surly, or a Rivendell fork, it would just need to have Canti-Posts for the use of V-Brakes, or something with more stopping power, and suit a 650b wheel. Im open to suggestions , and if you have a fork of this sort you'd be willing to sell, please send me a message. [RBW] WTB: Saddle Support (nitto NR-20)
Hi bunch, Before plunking down the money for a new rack, I thought I'd inquire here about an old , retired, bag support that is no longer in use. Homer has become my quicker more nimble commuter and instead of a large rear rack, I just want to use a minimal saddle bag support. I'm not as crazy about the Carradice bag support, but I may also be interested in that as well. best, evan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Re: Can i ride in hiking boots?
the Redwings have a fairly smooth sole, but it's a good ole vibram sole, nonetheless. I've also used Merrell Moab ventilators, which are OK, but could use a firmer sole in my opinion. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Re: MId-Weekend Update: SoCal Riders March Meander
Spring Break free'd up my schedule, and seemingly did the same for all the college kids hoping to camp in Joshua Tree. All campsites were full.Doh! Hugh, Homer, MB-1, and me, took a motel in the desert, deciding that the BLM option was kind of bleak. after a good night rest we drove to Redlands, got connected with Smitty and David, and Arlo, ate some burritos and stuff, and rode up to Angeles Oaks. Drivetrain issues and tire rubbing seemed to appear out of the blue, but fortunately it was an unracing brigade and with a little wrenching we got things back on track... the type of thing that makes you closer to your bike, and thankful to have patient comrades. I'm glad there's so many tire choices in 650b... I had been riding B-lines but recently switched to an ultra-economical pair of TourRides... no flats in months! Granted, I think the TourRides may be less responsive than ultra-light supple tires, but I see these as two distinctly different tires for distinct purposes.
