[RBW] Re: FS; SP Dyno wheel bundle

2024-02-06 Thread Thomas McCause
I'm super interested, which dyno hub model is it? What is the hub drilling
(32h, 36h) How many miles would you guess on those tires. Would like to
buy the whole lot if I get anything!
thanks!

[RBW] Re: Downtube to Bar End conversion shimano 600

2023-07-21 Thread Thomas McCause
As the website states, - If you have Shimano dt shifters then you need to
get the Shimano shifter adapters

if you have the spacers, I could send you a set of Shimano pods for $25...
shipping in the cont. US.

you'll also need to grab a set of the downtube shifter stops

And then depending on your routing and the size of your frame, you might
also need an extra long derailleur cable

Hope this helps,

[RBW] Re: rack for Wald 139

2023-04-13 Thread Thomas McCause
I have the Blackburn Local Basket Front or Rear Bike Rack, One Size
on my Big dummy, and it is bomber
(if a little heavy). It's discontinued, but if you can find one, I think
you'll really like it. It perfectly fits the welded Rockgeist bag that is
built for the 139 basket.

[RBW] Rat Trap Pass

2022-09-01 Thread Thomas McCause
Alright, my curiosity has finally gotten the best of me. After seeing the
FS post for the XOXO with the RTPs, I really want to try them on my 60cm
frame of the same make.

Anyone have a set they are looking to pass on? Before I splurge on new, I
thought I would look here. If they are gathering dust, let me know. I
also have some parts and such to trade.

I now mostly ride mine on the local bike trails and some washboard dirt
roads, and I love it...
I hate to say it, but it really is pulling neck and neck with the El

[RBW] Re: Two Rivs on Denver area Craigs List

2014-04-14 Thread Thomas McCause
I picked up the quickbeam that was up there last week after selling enough
bike stuff to fund the purchase...
I need to take fresh pictures, but that snow is hammering Denver
today...had enough time in the garage to add a basket and readjust fenders
with the secu-clips and take a ride before the snow really started to fly
here in Parker...

Hopefully I will get pics soon...

[RBW] Re: bike commute meals

2014-02-20 Thread Thomas McCause
While I usually dine like Deacon Patrick in the mornings (rather to say,
nothing much before lunch) my lunch of late has been leftover protein from
dinner (sausage, bacon, chicken, whatever) with a couple of eggs cracked
over it. The ride in mixes it all up, and a glass pyrex and 3 minutes in
the microwave and I have an quiche-like hot meal that sure beats changing
tires in the rain...

also, check out cuppow for their line of mason jar lids and especially the
BNTO accessories if you are a person who likes to keep their ingredients
seperate!

 Hey now,

What's your go-to bike commute meal? I've got it pretty easy in that I've
got a gym at work so I can shower when I finish up my 9 mile ride, but
could use some more ideas for my breakfast. Generally I've been bringing a
piece of fruit and some pre-cooked steel-cut oats to reheat in a microwave.
Or some hardboiled eggs. Let's not forget the coffee beans, hand-grinder,
and chemex at work. Do you have a great meal that's easy to pack the night
before, transport without spilling, and satisfying enough after some
climbing? My lunch depends on leftovers from the night before, or the
emergency stash of sardines and rice-crackers in my desk.

Would love to hear what you all do to make the morning motivation that
 much easier!

 Thanks,
 Dave

[RBW] Re: Yet more travel coffee questions!

2014-02-20 Thread Thomas McCause
Another option that you might not have considered, but adds a certain
creaminess to your coffee, but it quite temperature stable (but way outside
of the norm) is to add a touch of coconut oil to your coffee. while not
for everyone, IMHO it tastes great...and it gives me the energy I need to
keep the legs pumping!

Tight but it worked, and you need very true wheels. I've settled on
