Wool alright, but no damned tweed!

plaquet pullover; thin wool scarf; Ibex wool/lycra vest; pseudo-Peruvian
wool+other-fibers hat, and floppy, insulated gloves, and who was very warm

Re: [RBW] Re: Dromarti shoes

2009-12-05 Thread James Valiensi
Hullo,
I have a pair of the Dromarti shoes. They are indeed made by Marresi, even the
box they come in is a Marresi box.
The shoes are the cycling equivalent of dress shoes. They do not look like
sport shoes by any means. You must wear Rapha or Tweed to look OK with these
shoes.
Beware, they run narrow. I wear SIdi's or Carnac's in 43, but to fit these
shoes I needed 44's, just to get the width.
Cheers!

Re: [RBW] Re: Dromarti shoes

2009-12-03 Thread PATRICK MOORE
The website shows what looks to be a tourist shoe type bottom. Do they make
a model compatible with Look cleats?

And how was ordering: through the website? Smooth and hassle free?

Not that I really need to spend $250 on shoes ...

[RBW] Re: Dromarti shoes

2009-12-03 Thread XO-1.org Rough Riders
I got the SPD style and the road style and absolutely love them. The
fit is the same as my Sidis, but these look a lot "cooler." They
remind me quite a bit of my Sidis in the early 80s, but the quality of
these is even higher. I think the natural leather is probably more
comfortable and perhaps even form-fitting, as compared to the
synthetic materials of my Sidis. And I say that as a vegetarian! Plus,
they look just awesome. I wear the SPD version at my Spinning classes,
too. Oh, so stylish! I'm guessing they will last forever, too. (The
soles are plenty tough; they might even be sourced from Sidi, by the
looks of them.)
