from their SLD it looks like grid support as there is no transfer switch.
this will probably change as they continue to develop the product.

Re: [RE-wrenches] enphase AC battery

2016-01-20 Thread William Dorsett
Jay, in visiting with Enphase Tech Support, the guy got quite enthusiastic
about the concept that this battery was designed for load shifting. But
obviously this could also be used for minor backup, i.e. computers and
communication. And I would suppose that ganged in multiples of their 1.2 kWh
increments, you could add multiples to reach a fairly sizable bank. Of
course each would have its own inverter so this might quickly become more
expensive than a large central bank with one inverter.

I was surprised that the cost of one of the smallest HUP's (~10 Kwh) was
about the same price as a 7 kWh Tesla for almost the same capacity...$3000
(given that you can't pull the HUP down below 70% very often).

Greetings,
Do any of you battery gurus have a suggestion for a method of removing a bolt remnant that is corroded into a flag terminal.  Both sides snapped off flush with the flag.  I was thinking try to drill it out or maybe a small gear pulling tool?  I will never again use the non stainless hardware supplied by the manufacturer...
Picture attached for reference.
Thanks!

Yup, id pre-drill and use an ez-out, or use a flaring tool as a small press
and drive it out.

Kristopher,
You might start with a smaller pilot hole and an easy-out or other
screw extractor. I have never seen this, so consider it just a
suggestion.
