We could create a website no problem. I was just thinking that Austin tech companies are as much a part of this community as the Trail of Lights, and Refresh Austin is an obvious choice for appealing to this group as a whole. The drive would stand a much greater chance for success with an organization like this behind it. I thought they actually talked about allowing it to continue if there were contributions to cover the cost. I'll check on that. This whole discussion should go off-list, but I don't believe it is just money that has curtailed the Trail of Lights. If support for it was so overwhelming, it would have been continued despite the cost, since it's cost is a drop in the bucket in this city's multi-billion $ budget. The city has just approved over $1 Billion, with a B, for a water plant we don't even need, and they can't find 750K? Doesn't add up. One issue is the large amount of energy it consumes. __ Do, or do not.
