 Description:
Generate videos via the command-line.
It's written in C, and uses gnome/gtk libraries.

This program creates .xges files that can be rendered with ges-launch, or the
pitivi video editor. You can create your timeline by specifying clips and
making layers, do greenscreening, etc.

xges-create does not use the gstreamer editing service libraries directly,
instead we just write the text of the .xges files. As a result, this program
can break when the .xges file format changes.

xges-create was initially created to generate video non-interactively for an
independent video project. It saves a whole lot of time to not have to
mouse-around a video editor, and it also allows for easy repeatability, and
more precision.

2017-01-21 Thread Ben Asselstine
Follow-up Comment #2, task #14183 (project administration):

The projects have different goals.

gmoria tries to be a moria that people remember, and bmoria tries to make
substantial improvements to the game that would be a certainly be a surprise
to people expecting a more nostalgic experience.

Because of the amount of time it took to get to this, I have published bmoria
on gitlab. You can close this task.

 Description:
This project is for generating and managing 3x3 magic squares that contain
perfect squares.

It's written in C, and uses libgmp for very large integers.

The idea is that we want to find certain progressions of perfect squares and
then transform them into 3x3 magic squares.

For example:
++++
| 5^2| 241|13^2|
++++
|17^2| 145| 1^2|magic number = 435
++++
|11^2| 7^2| 265|
++++

The end goal is to find a 3x3 magic square comprised of 9 perfect squares.
But to date, nobody has found one that contains 8 perfect squares.

 Other Software Required:
libgmp, dual licensed GNU LGPL v3 and GNU GPL v2, http://www.gmplib.org

A cleaned up version of the Umoria sources. it adds support for other
operating systems through gnulib, uses texinfo for manuals, and in-game
monsters and items are now included via data files that get compiled into the
game binary.

There are a few minor changes to the game, like the ability to auto-haggle,
buy/sell any number of items in the stores, the ability to cancel a word of
recall spell, and lastly to give feedback about items that get destroyed in
your backpack.

This game is meant to be good old moria, but with changes to make it easier

Great news!

The original author of XSC has relicensed his code under the GPLv2+ (from

Also, I have introduced a build dependency on SDL and SDL_mixer for sounds.

The sounds are mostly licensed under CC by-sa 3.0 unported. The licensing
details are in sounds/README.

 Description:
Missing live events (like press conferences) on the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation's website cbc.ca is a very easy thing to do because they are not
scheduled very far in advance. Usually live events appear all of a sudden in
the cbc's video section, and then they disappear without a trace afterwards.
There is no way to know that a potentially important live event is happening.

This tool shows a notification on-screen when live video events happen on
cbc.ca. When the notification pops up, click on Start Streaming to open the
live stream in the web browser.

Unfortunately the CBC will only stream content to computers in Canada.

Follow-up Comment #5, task #11002 (project administration):

I've also seen the All Rights Reserved text in free software. Upon
questioning the authors (not these authors) they say that it refers to
copyright. Even under copyleft, all of the rights and privileges of copyright
on the work are reserved by the copyright holders.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_rights_reserved

Although it's confusing at first glance, the phrase is another a way of saying
hey, my copyrights matter, which is certainly the case for free software.

* Name: *listerola*
* System Name:  *listerola*
* Type: non-GNU software  documentation
* License: GNU General Public License v3 or later

 Description:
This program scrolls TV listings similar to old analog cable channels like
Prevue Channel and others. I could find no other program that performs this
function, so I wrote listerola. It is written in C++ using GTKMM.

In addition to TV-listings it can also scroll MRBS (meeting room booking
system) files, so that other time-based events can be scrolled. This might be
a useful program for conferences; they could have a large screen scrolling the
upcoming talks and tutorials.

 Other Software Required:
It's just the normal gtkmm stack. (www.gtkmm.org)
It's difficult for me to tell what version of the LGPL that gtkmm is licensed
under... but as gtkmm is part of the GNU project (in gnome) I presume it's
okay to link with for gplv3 purposes. Maybe I presume wrongly?
It also requires libxml2. (mit license http://xmlsoft.org/)

Hi Sylvain,

Thanks for looking at it.
I have one question though -- did you notice that the .png files had
Copyright and license notices in the Comments section of the file?

 Follow-up Comment #1:

 Hi,

 I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

 There are 2 main issues in your application at the moment:

 - The copyright and license notices in the source code are good, but the
 data
 and documentation don't have any. Their origin is often unknown.

 When files cannot carry copyright and license notices (e.g. binary files),
 you can add a README file in the same directory containing them. Check
 http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for
 further
 information.

 In this case, we need to know the origin/author and the license
 of the files in dat/ and doc/.

 - Please update COPYING with the new FSF address. Updated versions of the
 GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

 Please register your project once more with these changes.

 Feel free to use the upload link in the submission form. The URL you gave
 us took a long time to download, it will be faster if uploaded at Savannah
 :)

 Regards.
