Wayne,
Simplest treatment for a spider bite is an onion, cut one in half, mash the
cut surface and apply straight on the bite and leave it there.
Works for any insect sting or bite. From my experience, and we have quite a
few very venomous spiders here in Australia, it works, even for our Bull
ant, his sting is very painful, takes the pain out in seconds, and seems to
either neutralise the venom or draw it out.

I think the brown grey may indicate that a whole lot of air is getting
mixed into the CS and is oxidizing the ionic portion.
  The purple indicates particle agglomeration.
Several things can cause this over time including saliva and other

a

We established through direct experimentation (to
our satisfaction), years ago, the most efficacious approach to a
majority of
gum insults involving almost any bacteria-based insult---included as a
precursor protocol, some address by H202 or sodium perborate. These
agents
express very powerful subjugation effects on the entire family of
opportunistic anerobes generally present in the human mouth. Many of
our
volunteers avoided, completely, scheduled gum-trim surgery simply by
following a very simple protocol based upon 3.5% H202.
Our most pronounced success resulted from a
combination of H202, followed immediately with a 10 to 15 ppm CS
  swish-and-retain (about 1 tblsp) for 4--5 min..three times daily.
In
these early experiments we did not employ DMSO. Later, we did include
low-percentage DMSOwith splendid results. Do remember that DMSO is
VERY
bittereven in low concentrations. Additionally, be advised that our
volunteers DID NOT swallow the CS X DMSO solutions (although it would
not
have been injurious to have done so).
I wish to emphasize we DID NOT mix the H202
solutions with the CS prior to usebut followed the H202 with the CS.
Interestingly, we achieved superior results from, always, utilizing the
H202
first..then using the CS. Speculation on this result seemed to
endorse
that the advantage sprang from a residual bacteria-subjugating effect
from
the CS. However, we did not invest any effort in an attempt to
substantiate
this possibility. Subjects DID NOT rinse their mouth between
application of
  H202 and CS.
One of the outstanding advantages of this protocol
is it allows realtime evaluation of its effects. The subject is
aware---
in a matter of momentsof both the severity of the bacterial
insult-and the degree of response to the H202. This allows for an
immediate repetition of the H202 protocol.when indicated.
I posted information with, essentially, this
same content...a couple of years ago.
  Sincerely, Brooks Bradley.
p.s. This protocol proved effective even in cases where the subjects
refused to brush their teeth regularly-some not at all.

containing 0.02 ppm Se and lacking in vitamin E) prevented the growth

markedly improved growth and survival of those given 751 ppm Ag. The Ag

glutathione peroxidase activities from rats fed 0.5 ppm Se and given 76 and
751 ppm Ag for 52 days in their water were, respectively, 30% and 4% of
those from control rats fed 0.5 ppmSe without Ag. In rats fed a diet,
adequate in vitamin E (100 IU/kg) and Se (0.5 ppm as sodium selenite),
administration of 751 ppm Ag in the water for 15 wk reduced liver GSH-Px
activity to 5% of that from control rats receiving no Ag. GSH-Px activity
of erythrocytes and kidney was decreased by Ag to 37% and 38%,
respectively, of control values. It is concluded that in vivo
administration of Ag dramatically decreased liver GSH-Px in rats fed
Se-supplemented diets with or without vitamin E. Furthermore, supplemental
Se (0.5 ppm) prevented the growth depression and mortality caused by Ag in
rats fed a diet lacking vitamin E, while increasing the Ag concentration of

Re: CSsilver-heavy metal

2003-12-08 Thread Frank Key
What is a heavy metal? It depends on who you ask!

According to Chemistry International Vol 23, No.6 November 2001 - Heavy
Metals - A Meaningless Term

Over the past two decades, the term heavy metals has been used increasingly
in various publications and in legislation related to chemical hazards and the
safe use of chemicals. It is often used as a group name for metals and
semimetals (metalloids) that have been associated with contamination and
potential toxicity or ecotoxicity. At the same time, legal regulations often
specify a list of heavy metals to which they apply. Such lists may differ from
one set of regulations to the other, or the term may be used without specifying
which heavy metals are covered. In other words, the term heavy metals has
been used inconsistently. This practice has led to general confusion regarding
the significance of the term. The inconsistent use of the term heavy metals
reflects inconsistency in the scientific literature. It is, therefore,
necessary to review the usage that has developed for the term, paying
particular attention to its relationship to fundamental chemistry. Without care
for the scientific fundamentals, confused thought is likely to prevent advances
in scientific knowledge and to lead to bad legislation and to generally bad
decision-making.

Def 1.) A generalized definition in common use: One of 23 chemical elements
that has a specific gravity (a measure of density) at least five times that of
water.

Def 2.) Definition according to OSHA - The term Heavy Metals is generally
interpreted to include those metals from periodic table groups IIA through VIA.
The semi-metallic elements boron, arsenic, selenium, and tellurium are often
included in this classification. At trace levels, many of these elements are
necessary to support life. However, at elevated levels they become toxic, may
build up in biological systems, and become a significant health hazard.

Def 3.) Definition used by many - The term heavy metal refers to any metallic
chemical element that has a relatively high density and is toxic, highly toxic
or poisonous at low concentrations. Examples of heavy metals include mercury
(Hg), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), thallium (Tl), and lead (Pb).

Heavy metals are dangerous because they tend to bioaccumulate. For example,
marine organisms can consume a particularly dangerous form of mercury called
methylmercury. When fish eat these organisms, the methylmercury is not
excreted, but retained in bodily tissues. The older the fish and the more
contaminated organisms it has consumed, the greater the amount of methylmercury
in its tissues. When another fish eats the first fish, the accumulated
methylmercury is passed up the food chain, eventually becoming hundreds or
thousands of times its original concentration. Any organism at the top of the
food chain (humans, polar bears etc.) faces a serious risk of mercury poisoning
by eating such fish.

More on heavy metals here.

It could be indicative of such, but I am not certain it would be rock
hard proof. Bacteria have been known for quite some time to exchange
dna, that is how immunity to antibiotics often develops. It could be
nothing more than a silver miner getting the flu, and ending up with a
silver immune version. However it is my understanding that this
particular trait is disposed of quite quickly once the threat of silver
is eliminated, so it is quite possible that even such a strain would

Re: CSSilver-heavy metal NOT

2003-12-08 Thread Marshall Dudley
One of the primary problems is that what consitutes heavy metals is
defined quite differently by different groups. For soap makers it is
virtually any metal except sodium. For chemists it appears to comprise
a block of all the metals in Groups 3 to 16
that are in periods 4 and greater which includes most metals, including
silver and copper and iron.

But we are concerned with the definition as related to life sciences.
That is, which ones give heavy metal poisoning if taken internally. For
that it seems the the atomic weight of 200 is the key definition for
this.

See http://jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/Journal/Issues/1997/Nov/abs1374.html
for information on this lack of a consistant definition.

The transition metals are listed at:
http://www.infoplease.com/periodictable.php?group=F

Indeed, some ( definitions
http://cancerweb.ncl.ac.uk/cgi-bin/omd?query=heavy+metals ) show copper
zinc and iron as heavy metals, metals that are absolutely essential to
life. Significant amoutns of iron are needed for the blood, so this
definition is obviously wrong for trying to determine which metals are
heavy metals associated with toxcitity.

As the above document shows, it depends on who you talk to, and what
 government regulatory agency is involved.

According to Medicare, silver is not a heavy metal.

SILVER IS A TRANSITION element that does not share the toxicology of other
 metals loosely coined heavy metals.

People who get stuck on the heavy metal idea need to study the history of
chemistry, and the history of the term heavy metal for clarity. Arguing
 with ignorance has little value.

I have no idea where you get the idea that it is not mentioned for
conventional medical therapy. I have seen it mentioned several times. But
for conventional therapy, we are talking about antibiotics, and the place it
will be mentioned will be with literature and courses for doctors, not the
patient who it is assumed is a total idiot, since you cannot get antibiotics
without a doctor's prescription.

However, since alternative therapies are not supervised or approved by a
doctor normally, this information must be supplied to the patient, who if
they are using alternative therapies is assumed to be rather smart and can
understand this.

It is not unusual for a person to be killed in a hospital by antibiotics
from Herx, if a person is near death, it can be a fine line between giving
insufficient antibiotics to kill off the infection, and killing the patient
from the Herx.

AMERICA'S HOMELAND SECURITY ENHANCED BY
PALADIN CAPITAL'S $10.5 MILLION INVESTMENT IN
AGION TECHNOLOGIES' WAR AGAINST BACTERIA

Washington, D.C., January 28, 2003 - Paladin Capital Group's Homeland
Security and Partners' Funds announced today a $10.5 million investment in
AgION Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of engineered antimicrobial
solutions that continuously prevent the growth of bacteria, mold, and
fungus on a broad range of industrial, consumer and medical products.
Michael Steed, Paladin's Managing Director, created Paladin's Homeland
Security Fund by bringing together former top military and intelligence
officials including the CIA's James Woolsey, National Security Agency's Lt.
General Kenneth Minihan and Naval Warfare technical advisor, Dr. Alf
Andreassen, to develop the Paladin Homeland Security Fund to invest in
existing companies with immediate solutions designed to prevent and defend
against terrorist attacks as well as to cope and recover from such attacks
or other threats.

AgION will use this new funding to expand sales and marketing while it
continues its development of cutting-edge product applications. The
Company's flagship product is sold under the AgION trademark, and when
AgION? is incorporated into or applied to finished products, it will
continuously control the growth of microbes in or on the product. In most
cases its use can be engineered to last for the lifetime of the product.
The technology also is safe and efficacious. AgION antimicrobial is
registered with the EPA for numerous applications including food and
drinking water contact as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning
systems. It also is recognized by the FDA as an acceptable food contact
substance.

Given the enormous range of applications for the AgION antimicrobial, a
diverse number of global companies have capitalized on AgION engineered
solutions. These include: Honeywell (humidifiers); DuPont (various coatings
for multiple applications); Vygon (medical catheters); Bosch Siemens BSH
(refrigerators); Doctors' Research Group (stethoscope diaphragms);
Specialty Filaments (janitorial and home brushes); Ice-O-Matic (ice
dispensers); Robitussin (humidifiers); Teva Sandals (2001 Time magazine
Most Innovative Product winner); Colorcon (medical, food and
pharmaceutical packaging); FossFibre (fiber for filters and bedding);
Sargent's SARGuard (architectural hardware for commercial construction);
Waterpik (personal health care); and AK Steel (stainless and carbon steel
for multiple applications - Popular Science Best of What's New 2001). In
addition, the AgION antimicrobial is being featured in the AK Steel Concept
Home, an award-winning antimicrobial home, now under construction in the
Los Angeles area (www.akconcepthome.com).

# How does Agion™ antimicrobial coating work?

Agion™ antimicrobial coating uses silver to reduce contaminant growth.
Silver has been used to combat harmful bacteria throughout history, dating
back to the Middle Ages. Silver ions, the active ingredient, are bonded to
a naturally occurring ceramic material that is completely inert. Therefore
it is released at a slow and steady rate. Ambient moisture in the air
causes low-level release of the ions that effectively maintains the
antimicrobial surface. As humidity increases and the environment becomes
ideal for bacterial growth, more silver is released. There is a maximum
release rate so in very wet conditions, like on a humidifier pad, the
silver releases very slowly, insuring long term protection.

# How else has Agion™ antimicrobial coating been used?

Agion™ antimicrobial coating has received FDA approval for use in a variety
of different ways. The compound is used in medical devices such as bandages
and adhesives for wounds, catheters, pacemakers, even heart valves. It is
also used in food packaging and preparation applications

CSAgCl in water purifiers question

2003-12-08 Thread Reid Harvey
Everybody,
I've been meaning to mention that I had a set of tests run, eight silver
chloride, ceramic purifiers, for the presence of silver in the filtered
water. Checking on solubility, the coef. for silver chloride is
0.89 (I think), and with some calculation it appeared possible that
just under 1.0 ppm of AgCl is in solution in 100 ml. of water. But for
the tests, only two of the eight candles indicated silver in the
filtrate, and those just barely detectable. If I recall correctly the
lowest detectable silver is 0.01 mgs. and what we showed for the two
candles out of eight was 0.02. We should test again over time, liter by
liter.

I begin to understand that solubility concerns a maximum amount of a
substance that can be present in solution, very much the fledgling
here. So I have a couple of questions: How would the solubility work?
Considering the AgCl is probably in individual molecules or small groups
of molecules, do these individually disolve within the on coming
water? And wouldn't it be that there are two or more solutions? One is
in the container of filtered water and the other one(s) are inside the
ceramic? In my curiosity (and ignorance?) I imagine that we could
measure the amount of AgCl within an individual pore of the ceramic, and
this should relate to disolved AgCl within the filtrate.

But how is it the filtered water could contain about 1.0 ppm of AgCl,
while the tests indicate this is at undetectable levels? Am I making a
short matter long?
Reid

CSRe: Alleviation of silver toxicity by selenite

2003-12-08 Thread Reid Harvey
jr,
The article is very interesting to me, for one, especially while looking
into AgCl toxicity for a ceramic water purifier (previous message). But
can you tell me, why would anyone consider using AgCl? Is there a lack
of awareness that CS could do much the same, without the argyria, or am
I missing something?

Also, there's no indication of the concentration of AgCl in solution.
Do you know any more about this? And how can AgCl be produced by
electrolysis?
Thanks,
Reid

RE: CSCloudy CS??

2003-12-08 Thread Dan Nave
I'm way behind on reading the list, but as it seems there are no more posts
in this thread I will add my 2 cents worth.

You definitely have some sort of contamination. Either the water, on the
electrodes, on the lid or jar, etc.

With 9 volts and no contamination you would probably not see a reaction
before an hour, at least in my experience. Even then I had to shine a light
from behind to see the 'whatever' cloud. You said you saw a reaction
immediately.

Definitely contaminated.

Great photos.

Thank you. I have years of photography experience and very little making
CS. With a little help I believe I can improve.

How much voltage are you using?

9 volts / 100 mA

I would suggest a current meter as to track the beginning and ending
current.

Right now all I have is a simple multi meter that I don't have a clue
how to operate.

While I don't consider myself an expert, I think you are making too
strong
a brew.

Could be, I don't know.

Has anyone one else seen results similar to mine?

You can view my setup and first batch in the making at the following

Has your CS ever turned out as cloudy as mine?
How much do you make at a time?
What kind of power do you use?

Well at least my CS isn't lethal anyway. I have been taking it and it
seems to have chased off my latest sinus infection.

Thank you for you comments Wayne.

What this means when taking silver; start small and then build up.

Start with a teaspoon full. Wait and watch. If symptoms increase, usually
fever, chills, and increased discomfort, wait.

Continue after symptoms subside, slowly increasing the dose.

Marshall the group,
Here in Australia, our family ran a Truck Stop, and one night one of the
truckies (in US, read truckers!) came in for fuel and was in the advanced stage
of affects from a spider bite. He was perspiring, had the shakes, and was not a
very well man. He insisted on driving on as he had to get his urgent load
through to Brisbane, which in driving terms was 12 hours constant driving
north. I pleaded with him for me to take him to the hospital, but he refused. I
remembered my grandmother's onion cure, and placed a mashed onion on his leg,
bound it up, and make him promise to ring me from the next town. Long story
short, he forgot, I was worried sick for his welfare, he ended up ringing me 2
hours later. He was amazed, said he felt the change almost immediately, and so
well in fact that he forgot to ring me as we had planned!

Years ago my younger brother got bitten on the butt by a Red Back spider, very
similar to the US Black Widow, and for young'uns, deadly, Well on went the
onion, and within and hour, almost no evidence of the bite, swelling was
reduced to a small localised area, and no toxicity effects..

Hi Reid:

I can answer that. There have been a few proponents who have widely
promoted the use of silver chloride. In the case of the individual in the
article, it was Mark Metcalf's book. Mark has only now stopped promoting
the idea of using salt in CS production, but I'm certain that more than two
people acquired argyria as a result of his methods.

We do not know the concentration of the end product. It had to be pretty
muddy. The individual added salt to the production process, which is how
the silver chloride was being produced. Imagine producing CS with a
nine-volt battery setup with salty water and letting it run ten minutes...
and then drinking 32 ounces of the stuff every day.

I now speak with this individual on a regular basis - he's a great guy.
Obviously he's a very zealous supporter of CS use... As he was near death
when he started to take CS. In his case, perhaps it was good that he drank
silver chloride mud. Hard to say. He wasn't upset at all about turning
blue, just happy to be alive.

It's that kind of attitude that lead him to reverse his condition. He said
the hardest part was drinking that much water on a daily basis.

Best Regards,

Jason
