  Hi Nancy,
The plums are considered a condomint for seasoning foods such as brown rice,
salads etc.Americans would use the likes of ketchup, or mustard, hot
sauce in its stead. Generally, they are used sparingly, from half a plum to a
whole. They are not usually eaten alone.

Umeboshi plums are fermented products that are high in iron, thiamin, and
riboflavin. Like other fermented foods, they are beneficial to digestion,
stimulating the secretion of digestive fluids in the stomach and enhancing the
growth of healthy bacterial cultures in the intestinal tract. If a persons
digestive system is sensititve or compromised just one plum eaten alone has
the potential to keep your intestines busy purging for an entire day.

CS

2005-11-19 Thread Terry Chamberlin
Langsley said,
In the case of EIS or ionic silver the ion has lost
one electron resulting in a positive charge. Hence,
ions of silver are one atom of silver minus one
electron. They measure 0.000252 microns/micrometers
across. Their size does not vary. Technically ions are
not particles of silver, those, in our context, are
colloids. We are not talking about a colloid but an
ionic solution. Therefore the term particles, though
convenient, does not really apply.

Actually, we need to be using commonly-accepted
scientific terms so that we do not speak our own
proprietary language which a normal scientific
professional would not understand nor agree with.

You said, “Technically, ions are not particles of
silver… those are colloids.”

But ions ARE particles if we use the scientific
definitions. Notice:

http://physics.tamuk.edu/~hewett/ModPhy1/Unit2/Duality/ParticlesWaves/Particles/Particles.html

1. Properties of Particles: position, velocity, mass,
electric charge, spin, color, momentum, energy, etc.
2. Classical particle: An object of negligible size
and structure compared to all other distances
pertaining to the physical situation.
3. Fundamental particle (or ideal particle): A
point-like perturbation or local disturbance in space
that retains its identity for an extended period of
time.

Also notice:
ion
An ion is an atom or group of atoms in which the
number of electrons is different from the number of
protons. If the number of electrons is less than the
number of protons, the particle is a positive ion,
also called a cation. If the number of electrons is
greater than the number of protons, the particle is a
negative ion, also called an anion. A compound, as
well as individual atom, can be ionized. A common
example is nitrate, which consists of a nitrogen atom
and 3 oxygen atoms (NO3) in the form of an anion; this
is symbolized NO3- because it normally has a surplus
of a single electron.

http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,289893,sid9_gci859894,00.html

So silver-nitrate is ionic, yet it causes argyria.

I recognize that in the past we have attempted to
differentiate between silver particles in suspension
and those in solution by calling the first
“colloids/particles” and the second “ions”. But, using
the standard definition of a particle, ions are also
particles. You stated about ions, that, “They measure
0.000252 microns/micrometers across. Their size does
not vary.” How did you arrive at this definition? Is
this a fact accepted by standard scientific usage?
Please provide references. Based on standard
scientific definitions, I would have to disagree with
the above definition of an ion.

This does not enable us to clearly differentiate
between one size and another size of silver particle.
We want to be able to easily refer to the action of
silver when it is smaller than a certain size (smaller
than a colloid) because we are convinced that there is
no danger of any kind from silver particles of this
size.

The term, colloidal silver, technically, not
surprisingly, refers only to a genuine colloid. That
is, particles of silver suspended in a liquid,
generally distilled water. Now, particles in a colloid
can and do really vary in size. These particles are
typically in the range of .001 to .100 micrometers,
orders of magnitude larger than ions.

But we recognize that every colloidal particle has a
charge. This is part of what holds it in suspension.
Each particle, having the same charge, repels every
other particle like the two positive ends of two
magnets repel each other. We further understand that
when a colloidal particle loses its charge it falls
out of suspension or aggregates to another particle.
So, in fact, every colloidal particle is also an ion.
These two words, ions and colloids (or particles), are
entirely inadequate to distinguish between large and
small silver particles.

When we use the word, *ionic*, we usually mean
particles even smaller than colloids, even too small
to refract light (a silver solution that has no
Tyndall effect is considered to be mostly or
completely ionic). But, in fact, *ionic* simply means
a particle with a charge (number of electrons is
different from the number of protons), and particle
size is irrelevant. Everything we brew is *ionic*
silver, since the DC process we use charges the
particles.

Two scientists, Robert H. Demling Robert E. Burrel,
have reported on the properties and efficacy of
extremely small silver particles, which they are
calling Nanosilver. Note:

“The property of matter depends on size and many of
the chemical and physical characteristics change
significantly when matter is reduced in size.
Nanotechnology is a general term that refers to a
relatively new frontier of scientific endeavor. The
prefix “nano” signifies one-billionth. Therefore, a
nanometer is one-billionth of a meter, a nanogram is
one-billionth of a gram. Ten hydrogen atoms placed
side by side measures one nanometer in length.”

CSumeboshi

2005-11-19 Thread Matthew McCann
Umeboshi plum is a misnomer. The term umeboshi means dried ume, where ume is
usually
translated as plum. But it is not a plum. It is a species of apricot. It has
several organic acids
with medicinal effects, including the seemingly paradoxical effect of
alkalizing the body.

1. Umeboshi has a high concentration (perhaps the highest concentration in any
fruit) of citric
acid. Citric acid enables the small intestine to absorb alkaline minerals from
other foods that
would otherwise not be absorbed.
2. Umeboshi itself contains high amounts of alkaline minerals (iron, calcium,
potassium,
manganese, etc.)
3. Citric acid breaks down lactic acid produced metabolically in our blood and
tissues.
4. Umeboshi contains picric acid that stimulates and supports the detoxifying
action of the
liver.
5. Umeboshi contains catechin acid which speeds peristaltic action in the
intestines as
well as the digestion of proteins.
6. Umeboshi peel contains pectic acid which has a laxative effect.

This information comes from the Kushi Institute.

RE: CSadvise with new generator

2005-11-19 Thread Vince Richter
Hi Nancy, If you want total confidence in what you are making and what you
give away invest in a PWT meter. Then, test the distilled water before you
use it and test the finished CS each time. I was buying good distilled
water that measured pure each time I bought that brand. They once made a
bad batch that showed up at several of our local stores that measured 20
microseimens. I would have made some CS that was not nearly as good as it
should have been had I not been testing the water prior to making my CS.

Since I have my own PWT, it's very easy to test each finished batch and I
always do that. The cost of the PWT seems like a lot at first, but since
this is a lifetime project it's really not much in the big scheme of things.

Best Regards,

Vince

Re: CSdiseased beef in non-organic commercial meat supply

2005-11-19 Thread Denise Every
I did a little digging around and the statement except for the 413, which
have apparently entered the meat industry isn't quite accurate... what I
found wasn't much more reassuring, though one report from MSNBC says 21
could not be traced and another 147 were slaughtered (and could have ended
up in food or feed)... another report from the Dallas Morning News says 208
went into the feed and slaughter channels, entering the food supplywhich
boils down to a whole lotta questionable cows in any case

1) The federal government closed its investigation in August, saying it
could not pin down how the cow became infected with the brain-wasting
ailment. The Agriculture Department and the Food and Drug Administration
traced 413 animals and reported that 147 herd mates and offspring were
presumed to have been slaughtered for food, livestock feed or other use, and
that 21 could not be traced. The USDA killed and tested 67 animals, all of
which tested negative for mad cow disease.

2) The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday obtained details about the search for
the 413 cows and calves under a Texas open records request. About 350 of the
cows, or roughly 85 percent, were sent to slaughter.Inspectors had to
trace 213 calves in their hunt to find two that were recently born to the
diseased cow. They never were able to specifically identify the two calves
but did say that 208 went into feed and slaughter channels, entering the
food supply. Four more probably did. One calf was untraceable. If they're
fairly confident that the group they identified as the progeny was complete
and if nearly all of them were slaughtered, chances are the progeny was
eaten by a human being, said Tom McGarity, a professor of food safety law
at the University of Texas School of Law and president of the Center for
Progressive Regulation. Those details give him pause, he said. While mad cow
is not necessarily transmitted to offspring, it is quite possible that a
mad cow got in the food supply.

I was recently visiting my mother in California and read the morning paper
she had sitting on the kitchen table. I was surprised to see an article,
small and not on a front page (duh) that stated they had found Mad Cow
diseased cattle in Dallas. There are 413 cows that have been 'lost.'
Apparently, many cows lose their ear tags when being transferred, and are
just retagged. The group was accounted for except for the 413, which have
apparently entered the meat industry!
