Hello Sol!

Well, having been a straight, serious vegetarian for over ten years, I know it
can be a problem.
Now, living in Colombia with my Colombian (coffee and meat) wife, amidst even
straighter carnivores, I find the difficulty even stronger.

So our rule is: No meat in the house, i.e. no meat in our domestic-daily diet.
Out-there on the streets? As little as possible .. there are TWO vegetarian
restaurants that we know of in this enormous city of Medellin, one has
execellent, balanced food. The other one we haven't tried yet.

The news is there is less and less silver in the world, as it is being used

Been off the list for a few months, and don't know whether this subject has
 made the list or not:

My wife discovered this silver factoid while reading Targeted: Homeland
Security and the Business of Immigration by Deepa Fernandes:

A water backpack marketed by a company formerly owned by ex-NYC police
commissioner Bernard Kerik (he sold his share when he was being considered
for Homeland Security honcho) are being sold to the U.S. Border Patrol and to
the military for troops in Iraq. The Camelbak contains a silver-lined pouch
for prolonged purity of the water.

After 9-11, Camelbak took its $20 athletic water bag, added better straps and
the silver pouch, and sold it to the government for about $200. That's what
 the book is all about.

 From Camelbak's website:

Q: How do I clean the reservoir - and how often do I clean it?
A: The reservoir is very easy to clean for one very important reason -
the entire reservoir and the drinking tube is embedded with silver-ion; a

Faith,
Get back to me on the state of your health when you have been vegetarian
for at least 30 years please. Since one's state of health on a
vegetarian or vegan diet would be determined by one's metabolic type, if
you can get to the Mercola site online, I'd be very interested if you
would take the short version metabolic typing test and report on what
type you are.
For my own curiosity, what is the protein source served at the
vegetarian restaurant that serves balanced meals?

It *is* non toxic if 'used as directed'. Surely, no-one would let their

Thank you for your reply,

I guess it is the same thing, I read on another site that little kids think
it is an eraser, when they get crayon on their faces they rub it off with
this product but the product is causing 3rd degree burns and it spreads.

I guess I will never use that. I knew it was too good to be true!Non
Toxic, yeah right!!!

Thanks again for the information

I'm unconvinced it isn't toxic. If the eraser is used up in use, the
melamine substance that makes up the eraser goes somewhere.

I am in shock hearing of Nancy's death. She was a remarkable person. Always

personality. She helped many on the silver list. It seems so senseless after

woman went through and triumphed from to of drowned in a hot tub! May her

Re: CSMelamine

2007-05-03 Thread Dee
You can't use a Vaporetto for washing up though, and these things get the
plates squeaky clean with no residue on them whatsoever. It has to be
better than toxic washing up liquid, a certain amount of which almost
certainly remains on the surface. I understood the cleaning power comes
from the melamine forming tiny 'claws' which just scrapes all dirt and stuff
off. You then just rinse it off under the tap and it goes down the sink.
I think it is possible to go somewhat over board with this non toxic thing,
and one has to keep a sense of proportion surely. Dee

I do not know what a vaporetto is, but anything that has melamine and
formaldehyde in it cannot be all good.

I have never used any chemicals including soaps etc in my home or in my
business, and I am in my 60's I do 10 homes a week!

one must always be on the look out for these chemicals.
I understand the box labeling says nothing about being dangerous to children or
not to let them play with it.
