You can't use a Vaporetto for washing up though, and these things get the plates squeaky clean with no residue on them whatsoever. It has to be better than toxic washing up liquid, a certain amount of which almost certainly remains on the surface. I understood the cleaning power comes from the melamine forming tiny 'claws' which just scrapes all dirt and stuff off. You then just rinse it off under the tap and it goes down the sink. I think it is possible to go somewhat over board with this non toxic thing, and one has to keep a sense of proportion surely. Dee
