Re: CSRe: Plastic or Glass bottles
Dear David, Welcome to the group! You asked: I'm wondering whether PET plastic bottles are OK or not to store my CS. PET bottles were the favorite of Ol' Bob, one of our more beloved members and experts who passed on a couple of years ago. As I recall, his testing showed no detectable degredation or contamination of the CS after extended periods. Several years back I bought a six-pack of 20 ounce bottles of Purified Drinking Water from a local Wal-Mart, drank or dumped the contents, and put them to use for storing CS. They're just fine, and I never needed to do anything but rinse them out, initially. There was no problem with taste or smell as you might have with a bottle that was used for soda pop or other strongly flavored and sweetened beverages. Be well, Mike D. Thanks Kathryn. I live in New Zealand. That's why I mentioned the lack of Selenium in our diets. It's not a concern for me, because I get plenty from my supplements. Any newborn is probably best off with her mother's milk, in any case ( just my opinion, unless there is some infection that needs treating). Others have said they use it to treat children. Then I came across this web site (http://www.silver-colloids.com/Papers/FAQ.html#glass-bottles) which says that home-made silver always consists mostly of ionic silver, and therefore should be stored in glass bottles. Now I'm wondering if storing my EIS in plastic bottles has been a waste of time. Also, if plastic is bad, does that mean putting EIS into a glass spray bottle (which has a plastic inner straw) is not recommended? Another question ... I have two children (a 2 year old a new-born). When is it safe to start giving them EIS to ward off colds? I'm concerned that with lack of selenium in their diets, they wont be able to eliminate the silver from their bodies. Thanks in advance! Re: CSMeasuring concentrations
uS is units of conductivity in Microsiemens per cubic centimeter as read by an EC meter [electrical conductivity ] That number just so happens to correspond very close to PPM up to around 30 uS...after..it has stopped dropping over time. Silver water loses some conductivity as it stabilizes. It's not actually measuring PPM silver, but hands you a useful number. A PPM/TDS meter works the same way, but fudges the conductivity number to correspond to PPM of Sodium Chloride salt in salt water*about* 1/2 the conductivity number...so, when using a PPM meter, double the reading. Hi David, I assume you are saying that soil in NZ is deficient in selenium. For babies still drinking from Mom's dairy, of course, then I am sure she is careful to eat a good diet. Brazil nuts are said to have lots of selenium- people here have said 2 a day if you take lots of cs. I am sure there are other food sources, you could look it up. Maybe nuts are imported, so those might work. They can be ground in a small mill or maybe even a baby food grinder for the 2 year old, and mixed into other things, like muffins, or even applesauce. According to what I have read, small amounts of silver are easily processed by the body's normal mechanisms. I am not sure what this means for babies. But if they can process more toxic antibiotics ( some are more so than others) when necessary, I might prefer the cs to those. Hopefully your baby will stay well, and need nothing more than good milk. Kathryn On Nov 10, 2007, at 1:50 AM, David Angland wrote: Thanks Kathryn. I live in New Zealand. Okay. So they would have to buy DSMO in a pet or animal supply store? Are there different strengths of it? Is it cream or liquid? Do you just rub it on or can you drink it? Are there tablets? And for another possible option, here in a midwestern city the local health food stores carry it as well. It comes in 4 or 8 ounce bottles at a couple of strengths... about 75% and about 50%... very approximately, as I'm going from memory. It is sold in the stores purely as a solvent with no health-related claims because of FDA interference. Go to www.dmso.org and start familiarizing yourself with it. There are a couple of books worth reading on it as well. Search amazon.com. You'll want to experiment with concentration. If you're lucky you can tolerate the 50-ish percent stuff without itching or temporary skin irritation. Most people can handle 30% easily. Just rub it on as a linament over the affected areas. By the way, tell him that world-class trainers use DMSO on million dollar horses and million dollar athletes, despite the fact that the FDA has its head up its ... donkey. It should be okay for him, too. Hope that helps. Mike D. The FDA has OK'ed DMSO for some uses in humans. It just is more easy to get and cheaper from the feed store or on-line. I bought mine at Ace Hardware. They have a feed store where I went first and then had to go next door to the regular store where they had it. Was less than $7.00 which beats paying high postage. By the way, tell him that world-class trainers use DMSO on million dollar horses and million dollar athletes, despite the fact that the FDA has its head up its ... donkey. Ted Both my husband and I have osteo arthritis. I have it pretty bad in both hands and knees. With painting the effected areas I have gotten some relief and can walk better. A couple of my fingers I couldn't bend now have some bend to them and the swelling is down. I believe you are right about the cs and dmso. DMSO helps the body to re-absorb inflammation and carry it away. I wrote another post I didn't see show up so I forwarded it back to the group. It has a web site where people are much more knowledgeable about it's uses. We ordered a book I posted also and are in the process of reading it. They have been able to cure cataracts with the use of DMSO and that is one of the reasons we are using it in our eyes with the cs. CSAthletes foot and colloidal silver
Faith DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) can be bought in gel or liquid. The liquid is better for mixing with cs. DMSO is a penetrate so the skin needs to be clean or it will carry whatever is there internal. Full strength can cause skin irritation and some people are more sensitive even when you dilute with cs. We use 50/50 okay without side effects. The face area is much more sensitive and about a 5% or 10% solution is all you would want to use there without irritation. There is a great group site on yahoo for DMSO ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DimethylSulfoxide-DMSOhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO ). There are a lot of archives there with lots of information. We also use it mixed with cs in our eyes. The DMSO we order thru our veterinarian can be used IV in horses and I feel safer using that mix with cs for our eyes. There is a good book out DMSO Nature's Healer, by Dr. Morton Walker. It explains how to use DMSO to relieve pain, increase circulation, repair tissue damage, and fight degenerative diseases. I hope this helps in some way. Dianne

Hi Mike...how long did you store yours...thanks deb I make and use CS on a pretty irregular basis. When we're treating anything active we'll go through our stock in a few days, making new to replace it as we go. If everybody's healthy it may sit for several months at a time. Judging by the taste and its effectiveness, it's still CS when we uncap the bottles. Be well, Mike D. M. G. Thanks very much Mike. I will relate this information to him. But his problem really is not athletes foot, it is osteo-arthritis. Arthritis is what I thought we were talking about. Just rub it on where it hurts, maybe a couple or three times per day? It goes after inflamation, improves circulation, and is analgesic in itself. Just make sure there's nothing on your skin or hands that you wouldn't want carried into every cell of your body -- don't put it on right after applying bug spray in the garden, for instance!! Other people's suggestions for things to soothe the skin between applications may help, too. Be well, Mike D. CSPlastic or Glass bottles
I've used plastic bottles for 5 years for CS thats stored for up to a couple of months. It doesn't causes any deterioration that I can detect by measurements or actual use. I use HDPE bottles. Thats the waxy type of plastic my demineralised water comes in. Theres some suggestion that PET plastic (Coke bottles etc) may be better but its not conclusive. The good thing about plasic bottles that have contained demineralised or drinking water is that they don't have to be washed out. Just empty them. You'll never get them any cleaner. Of course we keep these larger containers of CS in a cupboard. We keep a brown glass pint bottle on the sink for daily use. CSBlack gunk on silver probes
The colour of the electrode indicates a few things but isnt all that important. Its the color of the water that counts. When the batch is finished it should still be almost perfectly colorless. Then put it on the window ledge for a while. If it goes grey don't drink it. If it stays pretty clear its OK. Your silverpuppy with stirring, auto-shutoff, and current control will make safe clear CS even with pretty ordinary water because it cant put too much silver into the brew. But a home made generator with no current control will soon bring out the worst in bad water. It can quickly dissolve far more silver into the batch than may be good for you in the long run. A home made gen with no current control and dodgy water is probably fine for making bulk CS for animals, but for human consumption you need to be a little careful. Jonathan We have been using infra red therapy for many years on our horses (I almost feel I need to apologize relating to horses) and it is tremendously helpful. Our machine is a Biopack with two orbs and we can set the different strengths depending on what injury/problem we are treating. Many of the top trainers that have won the Kentucky Derby also use this same devise. We use it on ourselves also. It is extremely effective on soft tissue but also will stimulate bone on the right settings. A lot of therapies are used on animals first. Many of the more holistic medicines/supplements/devises work for humans and animals. When a friend of ours contracted whooping cough she borrowed one of our pads that work off batteries and treated her ribs which were effected from her coughing. It helped her a bunch.
