CS>H2O2 in CS

2009-10-14 Thread Del
Hi:

I had a couple of batches turn medium to deep yellow after sitting for a couple
of days.
These are mason jar quarts. They were clear when initially made. They
registered about 14.5ms on my TDS meter. They were made with distilled water
like I always make them. Usually they stay clear.
I assume the particles (and the ions?) agglomerated into larger particles for
some reason (impurities?).
I took one and put a few drops of 35% h2o2 in it. It turned cloudy and gray.
I put in some more drops and it got cloudier.
Finally, in exasperation, I dumped about 1/3 ounce of 35% h2o2 in the jar.
The bottom half cleared instantly and the top half remained cloudy, but the
cloudiness was white rather than gray.
It was also bubbling furiously, clouds of very small bubbles rising from the
bottom of the jar.
I replaced the lid and let it sit for a day.
I then had to loosen the lid to allow gas to escape, as I guessed pressure was
building up.
I assume the gas was oxygen??? It was clear and odorless.
The solution was still kind of hazy after two days.
After about five days it is now quite clear and colorless and the bubbling has
stopped.
However, it now measures 9 on the TDS meter and has a much denser TE than at
first.
I assume the larger particle were, in fact, broken down to smaller particles,
quite a few of them, thus accounting for the thicker TE than when first made.
Is my reading of all this correct? No real knowledge of chemistry here.
Would you think there is still h2o2 in the CS or has it all been converted to
something else by the reaction?
Would you think it is safe to drink?

Interesting!
Do you know if H1N1 is airborne?
I imagine if somebody sneezes, then there will be virus in floating droplets
of saliva.
If someone in your house is sick and you are taking care of them, it is
almost impossible to avoid contact with the disease (unless you wear a
surgical mask all the time?).

Perhaps these precautions would reduce the probability of catching it.
I also wonder if the ear is not a possible point of entrance? There is some
debate about that.
As far as washing the nose with saline solution, there are canisters of
spray available at the drug store for that purpose, there is also Xclear, an
excellent nasal spray product that is anti-viral, and we use the Grossan
nasal irrigator, which is the best way to thoroughly clean the nasal
passages and sinus.

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a
global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming
into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1
is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1
infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms
and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not
fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced
(instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official
communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any
part of face (except to eat or bathe).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you
don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the
throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms.
gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water
has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an
infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and
powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day
with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at using a Neti pot
to clean nasal cavities, but *blowing the nose hard once a day and
swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is
very effective in bringing down viral population.*

5.. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C
(Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with
Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost
absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can.
*Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the
reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat
into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any
harm.

It really is the Xylitol and chocolate. Apparently there are
some dogs that
get away with eating small amounts of chocolate. Try
Googling both of

them and do some reading.

Garnet,

I use one-eighth teaspoon of xylitol in my nebulizing
mixture. I found it
to be very effective against mold - as someone posted,
it actually kills
mold/yeast. I really like it & still use it all the time
for baking/making

mold/fungus/yeast problem.

RE: CS>Red light on my Silver Puppy

2009-10-14 Thread Ode Coyote

The lower the better.
If there is nothing in the water, "what" becomes a moot point.
Anything around 3PPM or 6 uS and under might be useable, *and over*
isn't very good at all.
Doing the "water test" the LED won't immediately dim at around 6 uS as
the electrodes are withdrawn from the water.
At that point, it's pulling full current and the ramp up to current time
variable has been eliminated.
Average "good" water is around .8 uS the best I've ever seen was .2 uS [
Microseimens of conductivity per cubic centimeter ]
***IF*** a PPM/TDS meter is reading right, anything 1.99 uS and below will
read a zero.

CS>Preventing Swine Flu

2009-10-14 Thread Dan Nave
Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid
specialist) having clinical experience of over 20 years.. He has
worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital ,Bombay Hospital , Saifee
Hospital , Tata Memorial etc..

Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid
clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).

The following message given by him makes a lot of sense and is
important for all to know

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a
global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming
into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1
is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1
infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms
and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not
fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced
(instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

 1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

 2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any
part of face (except to eat or bathe).

 3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you
don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the
throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms.
gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water
