RE: CSCS and dogs
We have show Shar-Pei and have used CS for rash's, bite and punctures, oz or two per water bowls if anybody is acting sick or getting ready for a heat cycle (never had a case of pyromitria sp?). Have used as eye drops for eye infections, and used on toes for bad spots all with great success. Todd Paddock From: jmillerwo...@gmail.com Date: Fri, 3 Feb 2012 22:18:04 -0600 To: silver-list@eskimo.com Subject: CSCS and dogs Took a dog to the vet this week -- it was a rescue dog and he had serious irritations on the front of his neck and he had just been neutered to get him ready for his new home. The clinic that did the neutering gave me some spray for the neck and said I could also use it on the incision site. The dog really fought me -- no way did he want me to do that. So I took him to my vet the next day, and she took one look at the name of the spray and said that that product contains alcohol and of course that would really burn the skin, making the irritation worse and causing his incision to be quite pinkish read. I asked her what to use instead. Now, she is NOT an alternative vet, but she is a great diagnostician and she respects the health of our dogs. She said that the best thing to use for skin irritations on dogs is colloidal silver. I brought the dog home, started using colloidal silver (my husband makes ours and we always have plenty available). The dog still struggled, but the irritation started to heal. The dog left for his permanent today, and I sent the CS with him, both the little spray bottle and another bottle so they can refill the spray, and told them what our vet said to do. This is something that I will be posting to the dog lists that I own and the dog lists that I am on, but before I do, I wanted to ask this list if anyone else has done this and what more they can tell me about using CS for dogs with skin issues or other issues. She’s a Chihuahua mix that I rescued from the pound (they were going to put her down). She’d been kicked in the face. The huge scab covering her snout healed, but the eye that had been kicked did not heal. It was (and is) smaller than the good eye, light did not reflect out of it, and she couldn’t see out of that eye. I sprayed her face constantly with Colloidal Silver and Willard Water. Her blind eye remained slightly infected (although it was better), so I eventually resorted to allopathic drops which worked quite well. All was fine until about a week ago, when a white spot appeared, similar in appearance (and probably in composition) to a cooked egg white. It might be too late to save her vision, but I’m concerned about the possibility of infection due to lack of blood flow. However, I do know that miracles can happen and I’d love her to see again. Someone on another list, who is not available to clarify what she wrote, told me: “I have used for eye injuries (vets told me dogs would be blind, pine sol was in the eyes. Long story ) Vitamin A along with CS and homeopathic Euphrasia 30c. I broke open Vitamin A caps and placed a few drops in the affected eye 2 times a day. I flushed 2 times a day with CS and also 2 times a day with Euphrasia in distilled water. Miraculous recovery here from a acid burn injury to the cornea that was so severe that the white of the eye was red, the iris was filled with blood, and the cornea was nearly fogged opaque and reflected back blue like a blind animals eye. All is well today” I have several questions about the above. 1) Has anyone tried this, or something similar? 2) What brand of Vitamin A would I use? 3) Should I put the Euphrasia directly into the eye, or feed it internally, or both? 4) What about Dr. Schulz’s eyebright formula? Or something from Dr. Christopher? I’d greatly appreciate your suggestions. Thanks. [Straight conventional current controlled DC output.] Advantages: Works faster, enhances unstable properties of very fresh CS that may have antioxidant and oxygenating effects through free hydroxyl anions [Alkaline water?] and enhanced germ killing with free silver ions there 'before ' they find each other and form stabilized CS [EIS] Disadvantages: More electrode deposits that 'can' grow over time and make a feedback loop that throws auto off..off. Very large batches take a long time and those problems are accentuated, sometimes needing an electrode wipe off. 2] SWAP output mode [Square Wave Alternating Polarity current controlled output] Same as DC mode except the electrodes electronically switch positions every 1 1/2 minutes. Advantages: Eliminates electrode crud buildup. Enables a higher probability that very high PPM batches will be successful and nice. Disadvantages: Takes longer to get to the same place and time is somewhat less predictable. Also tends to make more highly particulate EIS..good if you like a strong TE, not so good if you don't...and the EIS is slightly more stable at finish. Note: Using the funnel thingie as a stir enhancer [chimney] on the Thermal stirrers, stabilizes the EIS as it's being made. Good/Bad ? A matter of personal opinion. It does come out stronger at the Auto Off conductivity setting. Conductivity and PPM are not quite the same things all the time. 3] Auto off mode [Works in both DC and SWAP output modes] References voltage on the electrodes with the conductivity of the water and the generator turns itself off at a given PPM [actually a given conductivity] Also gives a reference point from which to use a timer to predict PPM in higher than Auto Off regulated batches. [The Auto Off setting is hard wired for reliability and not user adjustable. If you want weaker EIS, stop sooner or dilute it afterwards] 4] Manual mode [Bypasses the Auto off circuits telling the generator to ignore the turn off command ] Used to make EIS as strong as you like or use bad water in a pinch. Input: Virtually any power source between 10 and 30 volts, AC or DC will work and the EIS comes out the same. You'd be hard pressed to not be able to make CS if any electricity at all is available. Even very low voltages will make EIS, but the auto off won't work if the output voltage is lower than the turn off reference voltage. [It turns itself off and manual mode must be used] Differences in prices between any generator makers have little to do with function and product quality. RE: CSClear, clear water and a question
If the LED never gets fully bright with full electrode exposure, the water is 1 uS or under . If just touching the water makes the LED fully bright, that's 20 uS and over. Read range is between 1 and 20 uS. Accuracy is slightly better than a PPM/TDS meter but not as good as a good conductivity meter. I'm brand new but it sounds like I a may have a similar system to yours. Just to see if I understand the lower the reading before brewing is better correct. Please tell me what cream of tartar is and where I can find it? A. Cream of tartar is is the common name for potassium hydrogen tartrate, an acid salt that has a number of uses in cooking. Now, before you get all jittery about the thought of cooking with an acid, it's worth noting that milk, brown sugar, steak, plums, and just about every other food we eat is acidic. In fact, egg whites and baking soda are the only non-acidic (alkaline) foods we have. Cream of tartar is obtained when tartaric acid is half neutralized with potassium hydroxide, transforming it into a salt. Grapes are the only significant natural source of tartaric acid, and cream of tartar is a obtained from sediment produced in the process of making wine. (The journal Nature reported some years ago that traces of calcium tartrate found in a pottery jar in the ruins of a village in northern Iran are evidence that wine was being made more than 7,000 years ago.) Cream of tartar is best known in our kitchens for helping stabilize and give more volume to beaten egg whites. It is the acidic ingredient in some brands of baking powder. It is also used to produce a creamier texture in sugary desserts such as candy and frosting. It is used commercially in some soft drinks, candies, bakery products, gelatin desserts, and photography products. Cream of tartar can also be used to clean brass and copper cookware. If you are beating eggs whites and don't have cream of tartar, you can substitute white vinegar (in the same ratio as cream of tartar, generally 1/8 teaspoon per egg white). It is a little more problematic to find a substitute for cream of tartar in baking projects. White vinegar or lemon juice, in the ratio of 3 times the amount of cream of tartar called for, will provide the right amount of acid for most recipes. But that amount of liquid may cause other problems in the recipe, and bakers have found that cakes made with vinegar or lemon juice have a coarser grain and are more prone to shrinking than those made with cream of tartar. Now, if they were making cream of tarter 7,000 years ago in Iran (or at least if cream of tartar was making itself), don't you think you can find the small plastic or glass bottles it comes in among the hundreds of other small jars and bottles in the spice section of your grocery store? Or you can get modest or huge quantities of it online. -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
