A little background, about 11 years ago my hair started thinning - the begining of common male pattern baldness. Nothing major but I was kind of sold on the Rogaine ads to try and stop it before it got any worse. Pattens were lost and Minoxidil went O.T.C. and generic to boot for about 8 bucks a bottle, big discount over the perscription Rogaine brand. I decided to give it a try. I had good results, most of the hair-loss was reversed, for several years, with a few side effects, including some heart palputations early on, and occassional headaches. I was afraid to go off of the minoxidil fearing to lose all the hair that I had gained, or not lost over the years, as the Rogaine people said would happen. Recently, I started getting more hair loss, despite of using 'extra strength' Minoxidil. Also, I read an article about cats dying from heart failure after coming in contact with their owner's minoxidil. I feared what this stuff was doing to my own health over the long term. I thought about how minoxidil works, it stimulates blood to the hair folicle, causing it to start growing again. Other gadgets, such as laser brushes were said to do the same thing. Then it hit me, colloidal silver is easily absorbed topically by the skin and carries an electrical charge. Also, studies have suggested silver ions to have stem-cell type properties. Hey, maybe it's worth a try. Stopped the minoxidil 'cold turkey'. I made this decision in any case, because of health concerns, whether the CS would help or not. Had a few withdrawl symptoms such as a few heart palputations for a week and a half. The stuff is actually high-blood pressure medication so maybe not having it in my system after 11 years of use threw off something with my blood pressure. Anyway, things are back to normal and my blood pressue in fine. I started spraying 20 ppm homebrew CS on the sclap twice per day (morning and night-time) just like I used to apply the Minoxidil. Fearing I would go completely bald after stopping the minoxidil, I didn't have much faith that the CS would help or do anything at all, after all, I never heard anyone make any claims that CS might help hair loss. I noticed from the begining, some type of feeling on the scalp, a stimulation that was kind of like that of the Minoxidil. I thought, Hey, something is happening here. There's definitely something going on. It's been just over 8 weeks, and to my surprise, I noticed in the mirror that my hairline is coming in thicker. I can comb it back and see a true hairline again. Also for the first time I looked with a mirror at the back of my head where it was also thinning and that has thickened right up. At a closer look, I can see young hair growth coming in right on the hairline. Actually, it is back to were it was several years ago. This is not a placebo controled double blinded study, or anything like that. It is just my personal observation. I don't think CS will grow hair on a bowling ball. But, perhaps, if hair is suppose to grow in a specific area, it may help stimulate it to do so. I would be interested if anyone else on this group had any similar experiences. -Lovinostalgia Yahoo! Debbie, a Nebulizer is a very good idea for throat/lungs. Your daughter can sit and watch TV while breathing CS. If you don't own one, many pharnacies rent them very cheaply. Buying an ultrasonic humidifier works as well, and they are economical. She can drink as much as you can give her without any danger. My girls, if they start to come down with something, will ask for a cup of CS tea, which is herbal tea made with 6-8 oz of CS instead of water. This normally is all they need. Hello...Faith Saint Fransis...also to answer your question on CS...i carry a small bottle of CS in my bag with wet wipes and even when we go to the shopping centres i get my 2 dd aged 5 and 8 to whipe their hands with the wet wipes and then spray cs on them if they have to eat anythingalso i spray a squirt in their faces which im sure some gets in their noses and mouth,... I also worked at a hospital over a week end where there was the super bug and i was terrified that i would bring htis home so i did the same and sprayed my face a few times and my hands and when i got home i threw all my clothing int he washing maching and washed at 90deg(im not fanatical, except in this situation) it did help... I dont know how strickt your school is but why not contact the principal about the bird flu risks and tell him about CS and see if you can supply every classroom with a spray bottle of CS and let the teachers let them each spray their faces even once or twice a day..it sounds silly but sure to help!!! He had the same infiltrates in his lungs. They almost admitted him but 2 hours after a shot of steroids and 3 breathing treatments his oxegyn saturation levels finally came back up. If you pure oxygen with the nebulizing, IE using Brooks nebulizer design with an oxygen bottle, that helps tremendously. In fact I have never heard of it now working for this type of assault. Marshall Luke was also getting worse until I relented and put him on antibiotics. It is just so discouraging that I try and try to treat with CS but antbiotics clear up the problem often within hours. And it wasn't only CS... I tried hourly doses of Vit C, garlic, zinc, echinacea and goldenseal. When I read articles like this one on avian flu and think of a pandemic I see a picture of me trying again to treat with CS and it not working and it's a scary picture. Any thoughts? My cycstitus started on tuesday last week and then on wed i had nbot ime to go to the doc and drank lots of bicarb of soda and water and then it was a huge rush for 3 days as we had to get to London and travel around withj my folks..wow i was in pain but did not want to spoil everyones holidayi returned home sunday..and by monday my kidney (left side) was aching so badlyi went to the doc and she gave me an anti bacterial course of tablets...in the mean time i was taking a table spoon of CS a day and at one desperate time i had 2 table spoons and my CS is 10ppm! I have no experience in this regard, but the idea definitely worries me, especially concerning a child. Hello. i am new here and new to making CS. I am having a difficult understanding of the voltage and time needed to make a great batch od CS. I have a 12 volt trasformer...distilled water and i left my transformer 'on' with 12 volts pumping through for 4 hours...my one silver rod was visibly thinner and the water was quite brown/black with silver particles at the bottom..what did i do wrong? My generater is home made. Ive used a 12 volt transformer. and ive made a plastic box . Ive got two banana clips inserted in the top of the box holding a piece of . silver rod each...the positive banana clip is joined to a bulb and then back to the positive banana clip. I dont have a stirrer and was told to do the stiring with a spoon. Im not that clued up with all this and wish i was. My silver rods are about 2.5 mm thick and 10cm long. The amount of water i used was 300ml..in a jar...it was tap water as this was an experiment for the first time..but the next will be distilled water. How do i get current limiting???
