On the object that you're using, have you given it arnold properties? Add
arnold properties to the object and untick "oppaque". With oppaque off, you
can drive transparency, which will give you shadow properly. Also what
drives the cristal color will be: refraction parameter.

I’ve used it on a few jobs alongside pftrack,  and the results on some 
of the shots were better in blender.
