Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Missing icon in System Tray

2016-12-03 Thread StevePalmer

Thanks for this latest advice.

It's all beginning to defy logic now! :( I added the shortcut as you
suggested, but even then the tray icon is still not showing.

As a last resort, the only way I can get the tray icon to appear is to
create a scheduled task that runs at the beginning of my day. It's
hardly an elegant solution, but it works.

I'm really beginning to think it's a glitch with this new PC/Win 10.

Thanks

Steve

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Static Bursts at end of playlist

2016-12-03 Thread SlimChances

I noticed a setting to disable cross fade between tracks at different
sample rates (in Player Settings under audio tab) that I never noticed
before. I had had it set at "no" hopefully it will now take care of the
issue. I realize now that because I am now using "Don't Stop the Music"
I am now getting mixes of both Flac and MP3s which I didn't get before.
This probably explains why only recently did I notice the static bursts.

Hi Everyone - it's my first post here.

Got similar issue with different hardware and software:
Daphile 16.07 with Tidal 1.2 plugin at HP T4735, wired

All files from local FTP play ok, but Tidal (premium version) behaviour
is very weird. Few hours plays perfect another time usually skips almost
all first track of album or playlist and all other songs drops 40-15
seconds before the end starting next one.
Couldn’t reproduce it with single song or by web official interfaces.

No one have the same problem?
I feel I have tried everything, but nothing solves the problem.
I am running 7.9.0 - 1477086729, but it also happend with 7.7.5 (windows
10)
I have tried to run the server from a more powerful computer, I have
tried two different routers, and lots of different setting on the server
software.

No luck...

The sync option becomes kind of useless when it only plays the first 3/4
of every track...

On a few cases I've gotten loud static continuous bursts at the end of a
song (or maybe it's the beginning of the next song) on a Duet receiver
playing local mp3. It will not stop until I take some action. It will
usually stop using the << function on the Controller or the WebUI. This
has happened just a few times and has not been restricted to any release
of LMS up to the most recent release of 7.9.0.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Missing icon in System Tray

2016-12-03 Thread reinholdk

Great that it works if you start it manually. But I'd rather disable the
other entry for the tray icon shown by Autoruns as well and move the
shortcut you created on the desktop to the autostart folder for all
users.

To do this open an explorer window and enter "shell:common startup"
(without quotes) in the address bar. This is usually the same as
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp". Then
move your shortcut from the desktop into this folder and logout (or
better restart the pc so that other instances are stopped) and login
again. Then a single instance of SqueezeTray.exe should run and be shown
in the system tray.

Well, there are two instances of SqueezeTray.exe for the same user. This
should not be the case. Please check how they get started, e.g. from
which autostart location.

The best tool for this is Sysinternals' Autoruns, which you can download
from 'here' (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902).
Simply unzip to any folder and run Autoruns.exe or Autoruns64.exe. Let
it scan your system until it says 'Ready' in its status bar. Then enter
squeeze in the Filter text box and you'll see all locations.

I'm thinking that I have a very unusual setting: I don't want WIFI users
to see my internal network, and yet I need the music folder to be
visible on some Logitec wifi based players.

So, I have 2 different networks, with a NAT router separating then. 168
address for WIFI, and 192 for the main network.

I have a PC with 2 network cards, the second one (168.x.x.x) is
connected on the WIFI side of the router and everything on it is
disabled except VMWare networking. Then I run virtual machine who
connects to 168, and exports the Music folder from the 192.x.x.x
network. I run a Logitec server in the Virtual machine on the music
share.

Bottom line, Wifi users that only access the 168..x.x.x network have
access to a server that sees the Music folder which is actually on the
192.x.x.x network.

So, 2 servers use the same Music folder. But they don't use the same
playlist folder, that would be a mess!

It's been a while I did that, and the crashes are more recent.

I could add a drive, and duplicate the Music folder with daily automatic
syncs if it's necessary, but that would be a (mild) annoyance.

I scan music only.

I see that the file is: D:\m1\ihumor\funny-thelink.jpg

But I haven't set up the D:\m1\ihumor directory to be scanned!

'[image: https://s16.postimg.org/hj6zlz0e9/logi.gif]'

Any idea why this directory is scanned?

Thanks for your help anyway!
